He finally told me he didn't have a valve on his truck, he'd have to go get one, and it would cost me for the time to drive across town to do that. Thirty minutes after he left, my husband got home and saw that he hadn't caulked around the re-set toilet. We called them and they agreed that that was standard procedure--but if they came back, it would cost us another minimum hour of labor--for 10 minutes' of work that he should have done when he was there.
