They are arranged in 50 county divisions. Ok, how do you get 50 counties out of 32, you might ask ??? Well, some counties are large and have a lot more images than the small counties, so they arrange them accordingly, e.g. Cork City, East Cork, North Cork and West Cork. They are all mounted in museum-quality mounts and can be framed while you wait.

If you want to feel transported to another time, simple walk through the IMMA courtyards. We chose to go inside, and it was worth it. We made a point to visit the IMMA before going to Kilmainham Gaol. The art, the set up, the cafe, the displays, the people, everyone and thing was so beautiful. My husband and I spent literal hours wandering about and dreaming of becoming Irish citizens. Please Ireland, please take us, we so desperately wanted to stay forever. The art itself is every medium you can imagine - paintings, sculptures, photography, short films, and various other forms. If you are in dublin, it's worth the short trip to Kilmainham to visit IMMA. Even if it's just for the photo ops in the their courtyard.

It is clear that Alan has a real passion for his work, and he spent a lot of time explaining the history and tradition that inspire him. He was patient while we explored the different prints, offering advice without ever being pushy. He answered all of our questions and we ended up with some prints that we absolutely love and that will bring us fond memories of Howth for years. This studio is a must for anyone looking for authentic, original prints and a relaxed, no-pressure atmosphere.

Class Little Spot…read more Nestled away just across from the Victorian Fruit Market on Mary's Lane, there lies an oasis of arty fantabulousness. Up the stairs, past the ceramic leopard print dog, and the mini mahogany horses positioned dramatically against the white walls, you will arrive up into a maze of mini studios and offices. These little spaces have been taken over by various Dublin artists and creatives. Individual pods to work in, with access to the opinions and support of their peers, all for lower than normal rent. There is also a gallery / exhibition space which is changed regularly. The guys are launching a new publication called IMPRINT Zine - a full colour zine featuring over 20 artists' work, curated by Grainne Tynan and Eimear Tynan, two onsite artists. In case you're having trouble finding the spot, the Market Studios is a blue building on the corner of Halston St and Marys Lane opposite Georges Hill primary school and near the Victorian fruit market. The place is only open to the public on specific exhibition days, as far as I'm aware.

There's something about the ambience here. It's bright, the decor is cute, and the staff leave you to your own devices, whether you've come here to read, write or goss with a friend. And the waitress will offer you a coffee top-up. It's the little things. The Riverbank Arts Centre is home to many great shows (plays, comedians, dances), kiddie workshops, and really good Monday Night Movies (to which my friend just won season tickets and she's generously told me that we can go halves on my ticket so I can join her). The Riverbank will be seeing a lot more of me.
