We ordered the carnitas tacos, which had amazing flavor and super fresh ingredients -- the meat was tender and seasoned really well. We also tried the burritos, and they absolutely hit the spot. The family working there was so kind and welcoming. Their warm smiles and positive vibe really made the experience. If I could give zero stars I would. We regularly supported this restaurant up until today. We spent $50 on lunch to go and when we got home they made our burrito wrong and didn't give us the side of rice and beans that we paid for.. We called to let them know that we were heading back to pick it up and get a new burrito and they tried to tell us to pick out what we didn't like. Then a woman called us back stating they wouldn't remake the burrito and was arguing saying that they got the order correct and we were wrong.... Bad business practice.. especially to call back to argue with the customer. We let her know that we wouldn't be back and won't support that kind of treatment and she simply said "OK" then hung up... Breakfast Burrito & Hash Browns For The Win! This festive little restaurant has been opened about 6 months so hubby and I finally decided it was time to try it. So glad we did and even happier when we found out they served breakfast! It's refreshing to have something local that offers breakfasts that aren't traditional American. We were greeted when we first walked in and didn't wait too long before Juan, our server, came to our table with menus and took our requests for coffee, which showed up right away. It was fresh, good and just strong enough. Hubby ordered a Breakfast Burrito with Sausage that was loaded and delicious! I played it safe with Ham, eggs & Hash browns. I have to say that the ham was thin, which makes it hard to cook without it getting a bit dry & tough, but it did have good flavor. And my bad: I forgot to order the eggs scrambled so I donated them to my guy who likes 'em over easy. BUT! The Hash Browns had just the right amount of crunch and also, some kind of magical seasonings on them that took them about 3 levels up for me! They weren't spicy-hot at all (I'm a wimp), they just had great flavor! They had a Latin music station playing a good variety of songs and at a volume where we were still able to carry on conversation at our table without having to yell, which was nice. We visited this family owned Mexican food restaurant for lunch today and this was our first visit . The restaurant is very small but does have seating for 25 to 30 persons inside and has outdoor seating in warmer weather. Our server brought us chips and salsa when she took our order. The salsa is totally blah--very bland and tasteless. It tasted like watered down tomato sauce with a few spice sprinkles added. We both ordered the $13 combo plates. I had a chicken enchilada with a chili relleno. My husband ordered a chicken enchilada with a tamale. Both entrees were served with rice and refried beans. The entrees tasted very much like authentic Mexican food instead of the American version we get at other restaurants. It was quite good, very tasty, and nicely presented on the plate. At least these entrees made up for the bland salsa. We will go back again and try a different entree next time. Hopefully, the salsa will be better next time. read more

We really wanted to like this little family owned spot, but really didn't. Everyone was really nice! The food was just really bad. It came very quickly, no waiting for anything. However, it came so quickly it was obviously made way ahead of time and then quickly microwaved before serving. Enchiladas were dry and had an odd crusty sauce on top. I thought maybe we just aren't familiar with "authentic" Mexican food, but if that's the case I have no desire to learn more. There's no bar, so no margaritas to wash it down with either. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!! So we came in, sat down and figured out what we wanted to order. We ordered Steak Fajitas. The options were chicken, shrimp.and steak. When our food comes it was not good ar all. Steak, onions and peppers were dripping in so much enchiladas sauce you could not taste the meat or veggies, the rice was over cooked and had NO FLAVOR (it was mushy) refried bean were okay. We had to ask the waitress what the sauce was because we have NEVER had fajitas served in a thick red sauce like that. She informed us it was enchilada sauce. We didn't eat much of our meal. We ate enough to not feel so hungry. As you can see in the picture we left a lot behind. It just tasted that bad. When we went to pay she told us our bill was $48 plus change. This did. Ot sound right. Each meal was $18 and the side of sour cream was $3 and we drank water. That would be $39 plus tax if my math correct. She told us the meal was $21 each and I informed her their menu says $18 and she argued that is was $21 now. She became quite rude when I said she can't legally charge us more than the listed price and it wasn't even worth that in my opinion. I told her we left most of our .meal on the plates as it was not good at all. She proceeded to say we were no longer welcome there for disrespecting their food. As she rang our meal up at the correct prices she said they didn't want "PEOPLE LIKE US" in their business and made some other rude comments under her breath. At this point I am angry and said we would now be leaving a review and she said, "Go ahead, we don't care"! Then we left. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK AND WHOEVER OWNS THIS BUSINESS SHOULD FIRE THIS YOUNG WOMAN. If an employee of mine handle this situation like this I would fire them in a heartbeat. But that's just me I guess. I care about my customers experience and if something isn't to their liking I sure don't get rude with them. read more

What a sweet little Gem of a spot! We enjoyed the tamales the best. The tacos al pastor were delicious and the price was great.

I really enjoy this spot! I needed to swing by for a quick to go order and it was so fast. The cashier was supper sweet. The food is delicious; the tortilla and all the ingredients are fresh. The prices are great too! The parking is a little tricky but not impossible. Drive half a block then drive down the alley and get to their parking lot. read more

The salsa is bland and too watery, the bathroom was beyond disgusting, the combo plate (relleno and taco) was sad. The relleno had not been de-seeded at all and the egg coating was rubbery and yuck. The "taco" was a soggy tiny street taco corn tortilla with a large glob of unseasoned ground beef and a few small chunks of raw cucumber. Honestly, the beans were the best part - seemed like homemade - and the rice was okay. If I had to eat there again, I would just order beans and rice. We have eaten at Los Altos more than half a dozen times and their food is consistently tasty, I mean very tasty, and authentic for sure. It's a family restaurant in a small place with about 5 tables and a short counter, but cozy. I read someone say the food came out too quick and must be microwaved. No way lady! I have peaked into the kitchen a couple of times and it's the real deal. The menu is a reflection of what the lady cooks for her family and no phony stuff. By the way, her flan desert is crazy good. I'm a stickler for really good refried beans and they have them; homemade, tasty, not runny, and not dry at all! Her tamales are also quite good and I learned today that they may be serving beer sometime in the near future. I should note that the tacos may look small to some folks, but they are loaded with as much delicious meat as the larger variety shells. Oh and her corn tortillas are hand made. I've said enough, but it's the best darn hole-in-the-wall for miles and miles in any direction! read more

This is such a wonderful little place as we found out yesterday. I ordered the 'ramen' because I am not a big Mexico food fan - so I thought. I was very tired after a long day hike and just wanted some soupy food. The 'ramen' is of course not the Japanese or Chinese ramen but a very creative meal mixing with noodle looks like instant ramen and well cooked meat chunks ( beef I think). The traditional Mexican herbs works well with the heavy mix of meat and meat soup. My friends ordered tacos and other more traditional Mexico dishes, all reported very good. We decided to try this new place in Castle Rock. The waiter was friendly and polite. I ordered a combo plate of a taco and chili relleno and my husband ordered the chili relleno platter. We of course started with chips and salsa. The chips were stale and the salsa was flavorless. When our food arrived it was my order and was placed in the center of the table as though we were sharing it. This was brought out by the cook. I picked at my food waiting for my husbands food to arrive. After about 10 minutes of waiting, I got the attention of the waiter and asked about my husbands order. It arrived about 5 minutes later. By this time my food was cold. His was hot, but he said it appeared to have been hastily microwaved as there was a lot of water on the plate. The food was mediocre at best. We most likely will not go back. So sad. We were hoping for a good place close by. read more

We order here often, and usually get tacos. Flavors are excellent, hommade tortillas, the salsas are fresh and tasty (not vinegary like store bought) and they have consistent quality. A+ veggie burrtio, the flavors are rich and deep, hands down Best veggie burrito in town! The guys love the Al Pastor tacos. I'm happy to reccomend this local mexican restuarant to the community! Food was excellent, the people are very friendly, we went on opening day which was very busy. They had some employees not show up for the first day and they were slammed but did everything they could to make you feel like their #1 customer. It's a cozy little restaurant with some indoor and outdoor seating. There is also a walk up/ drive up window. We will definitely be going back. Great looking menu and I want to try it all. read more
