Nice place to hangout and eat but Watch out for your vehicle when you park it on the street. People will hit your vehicle and damage it and just drive off and not care. Makes you wonder is it worth your vehicle going there? Be wary. That is the reason I'm giving it a one because people like that destroy a place. It's a shame. We went in Sunday night with my brother & sis-in-law for dinner. It's an old place, rustic but interesting. I ordered a patty melt that was delicious and the other 3 peeps had the Sunday special,cheeseburger with fries. They said they were good, a little salty, but enjoyed them. I had a dirty martini w/ gin,simply perfect I thought and they had a beer and soft drinks. The bartender/ waitress was very nice,friendly & quick with our drink orders. The menu was full of sandwiches, burgers and salads. Along with lots of appetizers it was hard to decide what to have! Overall we were happy and will definitely be back for more! read more

Still five stars. The prices for the specials is better than I've seen anywhere else. Usually we order a well drink and it's usually strong depending on the server. We've had need to pass through nearly every week and this is our go to destination for our return trips. If you're the kind of person that prefers a hipster ambiance and paying $15.00 for a tiny shish kabob skewer, then this is not the place for you. On the other hand, if you like a place that's been around forever and has the feel of a couch that's somewhat stained and worn with some stuffing coming out but hugs you like an old friend, then this is the place to go. read more

We decided to explore Castle Rock for Valentine's Day. Winding up at the Pastime at lunchtime, we were initially unsure of our decision. We were clearly being sized up by the locals at the bar when we walked in. Everything changed when our friendly server showed up at our table. Quick to offer beer tastings for the tap, she set us at ease. We ordered the Hawaiian burger and the mushroom/Swiss burger and split them. Wow! The burgers were delicious! Juicy, flavorful... yum. The first and ketchup were average. Tots better than fries. That's the reason for 4 out of 5. We will go back to Castle Rock for those burgers. read more

We have loved coming to this local pub for the last year since moving to Castlerock, but now I want to make sure that I give a critique of this great little bar. Judy served us this evening, and I could not believe how good the food was and the diligence of the management and making sure that our food was good and drinks were served on time. This is a great place to stop, if you happen to be by Castlerock, Washington. Everything is priced right and not too expensive and the food was served fresh and hot and right to our satisfaction. I love that they have the pull tabs game! We sat and played for an hour and I can tell you, it's very addictive even if there is no brain power required. It's like the slots and you get excited winning a quarter. I also love the cabin-ish decor of elk horns. Not that I would ever kill an elk, or any other animal. But, I can appreciate the feel of being somewhere far outside the city. The fact that they have a room full of elk horns and call it the 'Horny Room" is hysterical. I can never get enough bar food, so this is a great spot for that. Not that my doctor and cholesterol level would thank me. I think this may be the only bar in town, so it has that going for itself. lol Kidding aside, small town people are nice and the staff was great. Not that great anymore. We go on Taco Tuesday every week. We meet with friends that go most Tuesdays. We don't know how the tacos are going to be from one week to the next. It probably depends on who makes them. Sometimes they are stuffed full, sometimes have very little in them. Sometimes no tomato, or no olive,sometimes very little lettuce. If you want jalapenos you may or may not get them. If you don't want jalapenos you may get them anyway. They can write down the order and still not get it right. We get charged a different price from week to week, even though we order the exact same thing every week. We all used to enjoy getting together on Tuesday at the Pastime, but we may need to find another place for Taco Tuesday. I have to admit I am sad about this, because I have always loved this bar and have spent quite a lot of time in it in my younger years. read more

Pastime Saloon is truly a good place to relax and unwind at the end of the day. If you're in on a Tuesday, you will find that, although it's not a Mexican bar or restaurant, they have a really good Taco Tuesday. They have both hard shell (corn tortillas) and soft shell (flour tortillas) that are FILLED. A great bargain. The atmosphere is friendly, the service very good and the prices are reasonable. read more

I was in the area with friends for a camping trip. We decided to go into town to grab some drinks and we were bored and felt like our time was wasted when we chose to give our business to this joke of a bar. First the bar tender had an attitude and was rude before we even ordered drinks. Once we had ordered, we did not get our drinks for Almost 20 minutes even though the bar was nearly empty. This was the worst service that I have ever experienced in my life and I would be embarrassed to ever take anyone I knew here again. 10/10 would not recommend. 1 star is generous. read more

Great place for really good service, good all around food, good friendly people in a rustic eclectic atmosphere that is geared to the loggers and hunters of the PNW. They serve me up one of the best hamburgers I've had and when they substituted a salad for me in place of fries, they didn't charge me extra. And their salads are more than just lettuce with a crouton! I also ordered peanut butter on the side, as I like that on my burgers, and they don't charge extra. Plus you'll get a good strong drink as well. The only complaint, if it is one, is that the pool table is a little too well 'loved' along with the cue sticks. other than that, I'm as happy as a clam at high tide there. we will go back! My husband and I decided to give this place a whirl for lunch a few days ago. We split the seafood platter. It is worth every cent that they charge. My side salad was presented very well and I do believe that the tartar sauce and bleu cheese dressing was homemade. I highly recommend stopping here for a bite to eat.
