Los Angeles County Treasurer and Tax Collector - You can see I had to call 4 times because it kept hanging up on me. Then I got through, but had to wait over 50 minutes!

I Had to go to in office to get my company's unsecured tax issues resolved ( BTW - the assessor's phone system SUCKS) Luckily, 2 young ladies were very helpful to me: The first one, Taleen (did not get her last name) worked at window 5 (section A counters) when she helped me look up my company and helped me get to the correct location for further service. The second one was Latoya Guillory, at room 225 of the assessor's office dealing with business tax issues. She explained to me the unfortunate rules that make it SO EASY for LA CO ASSESSOR TO COLLECT TAXES BUT IMPOSSIBLE TO GET OUR OVER TAXED REFUNDS BACK. She guided me to the Basement office B-4 to put in an application for another $50 to appeal my tax and WAIT ALMOST A YEAR til they get to my case. The lady there said I'd get an email that doesn't even look like an email, "but better check your Junk box or else they won't be able to help you". REALLY????

They spelled my name incorrectly on a legal document that I need to sell my house. I waited a month for the forms to arrive in the mail, and when I finally received them, my name was spelled Dorleen instead of Darleen. I promise I know how to spell my own name, and it had always been spelled correctly before. I waited on hold for an hour after the system hung up on me five times. As a teacher, my time is limited. When I finally got someone on the phone--a woman whose name I didn't catch--she was incredibly rude and told me I needed to call back because she couldn't help me. I explained that this legal document, now incorrect, is holding up my life because they couldn't spell my name right. The letters a and o aren't even next to each other on the keyboard! Her response was unprofessional and dismissive. Unfortunately, I now have to waste even more time calling back to deal with more rude people.

GCM has been a part of my childhood as my parents brought me here a lot so we can try multiple eateries. It's the catalyst for the SoCal food hall concept before it became a trend. You'll find American classics, Mexican, Thai, Japanese, Salvadoran, Brunch, Donuts, Ice Cream and everything in between! I recently visited to stop by at Sticky Rice! It's a bit touristy and you'll find a few posers in the crowd but it's still a local classic and it hasn't lost its charm. If you're like me and you enjoy the sounds of hustle and bustle while you eat, you'll enjoy it here. Food is LA priced, don't expect to find a value menu. Even if you're on a budget, check out the dessert spots at least, one overpriced, high-quality donut is better than a $70 meal. Service is pretty solid, I didn't encounter any rude staff during my recent visit.

That was my experience at Tomas' tacos. I ordered 2 tacos for $5 each. I thought the price points was high until I realized I could make 4 tacos from 1! And they tasted good. My daughter had a burger fries from a neighboring business and she said it was delicious. I tasted her fries and those were definitely delicious. For dessert, we opted for McConnells ice cream. The flavors were unique and good. They offered samples when requested which was a nice gesture but their portions were tiny. I paid $8 for 4oz cop of ice cream. The Central Market is definitely worth visiting. There were celebrity chef demonstrations and meals available as well as multiple food options to choose from.

Santa Fe Springs does some…read moreamazing things for the community like hosting the practice venue for the Masters of Harmony chorus and putting on a Christmas festival each December 1st at Town Center Hall. However, I wanted to leave a public comment on what is perhaps a glaring oversight on either the city of Santa Fe Springs, City of Norwalk, and/or LA County's behalf. If you look at the public transit rail system for Southern California, there is a place in Santa Fe Springs/Norwalk where they should have combined the LA Metrorail Green line station at Hoxie Avenue, Norwalk with the Amtrak station on Imperial Hwy to allow people from San Diego County and Orange County to access LAX and the LA Metrorail with better ease. If you look at a map (picture uploaded to this review), the stations are 10 minutes away from each other. Given this glaring oversight, at the very least, there needs to be another Green Line station at this Amtrak station to combine the public railway systems. It's a no-brainer that would have been done decades ago in any European country.
