$15 to dump a ton of nonsense is not a bad deal. I renovate homes as a side gig and am usually under a ton. Sometimes if I have to haul concrete or dirt this is not the best option. I had to get rid of a dead beverage refrigerator - $5. A bushel of steel bands - free. Dead electric power washer, mostly metal, free. The disposal area was freshly raked to minimize tire injuries. The lady that took my $5 via credit card very pleasant. We are lucky to have a well-run recycling center like this in Tucson. No need to hire someone to get rid of your old junk, as long as you can carry it a few yards. read more

Do yourself a favor and cover your load and you can save $5. Only $15 per load $20 if it's not covered. Easy directions and signs to the dumping area and there is a site manager that will point you towards the unloading area. read more

This place is pretty cool. You can literally just go toss your junk here for a small fee. I tried unsuccessfully to pawn off an old commercial computer desk to various thrift stores but was told it was too heavy and ultimately turned away when it kind of broke while unloading. I'm not a crazy scorched earth lunatic, but I am a responsible citizen and resisted the urge to find it a new home in the community dump down any given back road in and around Tucson. I could have. But I didn't. Instead, found this gem of a place where you get in a long convoy of other responsible humans and inch your way up to this scale thingy and hand the nice lady your credit card (I paid $15) and then you just follow the signs/traffic up and around this trash mine until you reach the offloading site. Then you just dump it and drive on out of there -- free of your accursed desk or whatever items have been clinging to you like an old ball and chain. That doggone desk sat on the curb for a month and collected tree sap and swelled up with monsoon rain water and had me cursing the day my husband picked it up off somebody else's curb. But now--its gone. Euthanized. Humanely. All thanks to Los Reales Land Fill. read more

This place was a real dump. It was filled with garbage. The floor was littered with junk; it was absolute rubbish. I don't know if I've ever seen more waste. I pulled up and was simply stunned with all the refuse on the ground. Would recommend coming here for all your landfill needs. read more

Never would have thought I'd be giving an actual dump 5 stars but this place makes the process so quick and easy and has nice staff. I went to drop off some couches and outdoor furniture that was in bad shape. Was cheap to drop off and fairly quick and easy. Additionally, I called and left a voicemail on the Fourth of July to ask a question and I had a call back the next day promptly at 8 am. And, it doesn't even smell hard at all. This place is a dump ! There's literally garbage everywhere ! Lots of flies dirty and stinky I do not recommend going there !

We tried to use the Household Hazardous Waste program at Los Reales Landfill. It was such a hassle to get in the landfill. The entrance to the HHW was blocked off even it being Thursday (only open Tuesday and Thursday). After waiting in the trash dumping line for about 12 minutes we were told that people were sneaking into the dump through the HHW entrance and then at the HHW area we were told that there is a guy that regulates the HHW traffic but didn't show up this particular day. Most of the stuff we took was returned to us, our fault for not reading the list of items excepted. I must admit that we were already upset after waiting in line for a service that we paid taxes for plus the fees paid for waste disposal to the City of Tucson for trash, water and sewer. Then being treated like we were at fault for poor security and access to the service, well not a pleasant experience at all. When trying to do the right thing you should be rewarded not punished. read more

The Los Reales landfill has done a bit of remodeling since I was last here. The renovations to the dump are very nice, though their rates have gone up - $15 flat fee for residential loads. Pay special attention to the pay station - very nice and the employees look quite comfortable.
