Came to sell my copper and brass and was treated like I was a thief and was given the lower price for my copper number 1 all because one of my buckets had a couple of number two mixed in accidentally. When I asked why they gave me the lower price they snapped at me and said "it was not their jobs to sort my buckets". I didn't expect them to but I also would have liked a chance to fix my buckets since it was literally 3 pieces that fell in with the number 1. First and foremost, I spent over 4K at this place in the last month and will NEVER give them any further biz. That old blonde bowl-legged witch who thinks she "runs" the place turned into a total C U Next Tuesday type of broad after I had shown her some photos of a few mistakes her yard boys made when cutting some 26 gauge panels in half for me on my last visit. This place charges $5 per cut but then stacks the fencing panels up to 6-7 think and makes one cut. If not clamped together tightly, the bottom one's move and the cuts were off by nearly an inch. When I told her this the games began. She took my payment but THEN decided to tell me that it would be at least an hour before her yard puppets would get to cutting my panels. Numerous other customers came in after me and were tended to while I stood around and watched what was going on. After that one hour, they claimed they could not get the chop saw running and said they could not cut the panels. I started to laugh at Craig (I believe he is the witches husband) and said "so this is the treatment I get for pointing out some mistakes on the last cut job you guys did for me?" He replied, well we can't get the saw going so I can give you your money back, or do a will call and you can come back later etc etc. I told him I lived over an hour east of Tuscon about 150 mile round trip. They then said I could buy another size fence panel but I would have to cut them on my own. I decided to do that because I was NOT coming back and they charged me another $90 to make up the difference. Those clowns were laughing all the way into the office. We priced some 6x6 11 guage, 20 foot steel posts elsewhere but the cost was prohibitively high. This company sells surplus for around $1.50 per pound, and even their new prices beat their local competitors. We lucked out finding a couple of surplus 14 foot poles, but had to buy a 20 foot pole for the 15 foot pole we needed. They did the cut for $2.50 and we kept the extra 5 foot for a future project. read more

I hate to say it but this place has gone down badly. Their steel prices suck and you are lucky to make it from the back steel pile without getting a nail or screw in your tire. What really makes it bad is they hired this little blonde guy in the office. The guy must be related to someone there because he has no business being at a scrap yard. It's much better to call around and check prices before going here. The little blonde boy and half the people in the office now are ruining what was once a great scrap yard. read more

Tucson Iron & Metal is a handyman's best friend along with Industrial Metal Supply. If you can't find the steel your looking for at TIM with prices between 40 and 60 cents a pound then you can find it new at IMS. The employees are all courteous and helpful. I have bought 4 inch square pipe at 55 cents a pound (I think) for steps in the front yard. I plan to get sheet steel for a rusted retaining wall in the near future. They also accept old water heaters - mine just crapped out. read more

We went here to drop off a bunch of metal we ended up with due to the business and home remodeling. This place is crazy confusing. There are really no instructions, you're just expected to know where to go and people are driving around at high speeds back and forth. However we left with $60 so in the end I have no real complaints. read more

Came here today for some metal to build 2 gates. It was a quick easy experience. The staff was helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back. Oh and prices are fantastic. We got 2 3/16x1 24 ft rails for under 20$. I priced them at home depot and Lowe's and we Paid 1/2 of what it would have cost! We're very happy about the experience and the savings! read more

They need to calibrate their scale. I took in over 20 pounds of clean brass and they handed me a ticket for 11 pounds. Bull! I can see 2-4 pounds but come on over 10 pounds. If I was walking id have told em to stick it. This was the first time I've been there but I guarantee it'll be the last. read more

Was pleasantly surprised after reading the other review. Had a couple 100 pounds of aluminum and steel. The scale is at the front of the lot next to the office. Parked and went in to get brief instuctions on their scale and unloading procedures. Weighed on the way in, got directions from the helpers on the lot where to drop the metals, got help unloading, weighed again on the way out, parked and returned to the office to get payed. Very courteous, no attitude from anybody, traffic flow was slow, but without any problems and I would use them again next time. Roger read more

hey i like this place, lots of cool used steel (im a little weird) its kind a fun if you are a project guy who like looking a rusty steel. The prices are less than the new steel yards but they do price everything by the pound so it a little hard to calculate until they weigh the piece you want.
