I just moved here and I am disappointed that they don't have traditional shredded beef and instead use hamburger. So I went with chicken. I got grilled and I will be back for another very soon. Late lunch with co workers. Started with the chips and salsa. Chips good, salsa a little thin and not much flavor. I ordered the chicken fajitas. It came out sizzling. Hot and fresh. The chicken had very little flavor. Not enough spice. Good but just not seasoned. My coworkers enjoyed their food also. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not picking the food apart, it's just that the food was good, not great. We visit Los Reyes in Sumiton often but have always seen this one in Jasper so I suggested to my husband that we try it on Saturday Aug 10, 2019 for the first time. We had a wait time of approximately 15 min which wasn't bad for a restaurant on a Saturday evening. Our server was friendly and attentive. We always order our drinks and appetizers at the same time and my husband's go to apps for a Mexican restaurant are the cheese dip and some hot sauce as in the hot tomatillo salsa. He was highly disappointed when he found out that they had run out of it at just 6pm... well actually he was not impressed that a Mexican restaurant would run out of hot sauce in the first place just tbh. He said that knocked off points for the restaurant with him. The cheese dip came out hot and delicious. The regular salsa was tasty. I also ordered a bowl of "bean soup". It is basically pintos cooked with bacon pieces, onions, and cilantro. I actually enjoyed it. Simple but good. For an entree, we decided on the Fajita Trio for Two. It is grilled onions and peppers, chicken, steak, and shrimp served with rice, beans, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, shredded cheese, and warm soft flour tortillas. My husband ate his with the steak/chicken and really enjoyed it. I can't actually tolerate tortillas at this time due to a gastric bypass I had done just 4 months ago so I ate beans, a little rice, and a few pieces of shrimp. For me, the shrimp was less than great. It was bland and I didn't enjoy it without being dipped in either the cheese dip for flavor or the cup of seasoned butter that came with the Fajitas. Oh I forgot to mention that their sweet tea was some of the best I've had. It had just the right amount of sugar and wasn't weak. All in all, I would recommend trying it. We plan on giving it another shot and hopefully they will have my husband's hot sauce lol. I'm hoping to try the Sunday Buffet. Though I only eat as much as a 4 year old, that will give me a variety of things to try so I can see what sits best on my new tummy. And my husband can eat plus his favorite food is Mexican so that will be a good way to try out their best dishes. read more

First visit 5/8/19. Have seen it's always busy so my son and I gave it a shot. He got a shrimp burrito and I had Pollo Loco with the steak instead of chicken. The service was great! Well was I the area looking for somewhere to eat used yelp to find it since I was out of town. When I got there it was on the square so like most town square to parking is limited. Found a spot about 1/2 block away no bad. Wasn't that the square was busy just that some spots are for others store and it a tow zone even though they are closed on Saturdays so went in the door I thought was for the restaurant but it not, that door goes into a hall for multiple businesses. Then went into restaurant and they was quick to sit me. It was a lot smaller then it looks on outside. Probably caters to the lunch crowd on the square. Consider this is best restaurant in this small town that can offer. We have call to make sure the restaurant open after 9 pm since most of the restaurant close at that time around that area. The restaurant has two sections. One section have street side with no bar with romantic sit down. The other section has bar and TV which more vibrant. This is the restaurant you chose per your mode of the the day. I have ordered the prime rib steak with rice and bean. The steak came out as my order. It was delicious. They also have the happy hour beer. They have Mexican beer of your choice. The atmosphere is great. The games is on and the bar make available for drink. The service is great. The parking also easy. Another great meal at Los Reyes. The chicken soup is always delicious with the chunks of avocado on top. The enchiladas and chimichanga were great also. New to the area...decided to give Los Reyes a try for curbside takeout since all indoor dining is closed. The food and service not disappoint. Called in our order ten minutes before they opened and and they answered and took our order. We arrived at the curb and two minutes later we had our food. I tried the pollo loco and husband tried the beef chimichanga. His chimichanga had a great taste and was not overly greasy and my pollo loco was perfect. Full of yummy grilled veggies and chicken breast and rice. Exactly what we were craving! Chips and salsa were great too. Good sturdy chips with savory salsa.
