I was in Detroit for long weekend & my bf had to stop at Burn Rubber Sneaker Boutique & as we were driving by I spotted this gem & we HAD to go in & I'm so glad we did! If you love vintage you will fall in love with this store. They have lots of cool jewelry, a women's sections & also a men's section just as large. I loved that their pieces have the era they are from (60's, 70's, etc) written on the tag. I wish this store was in my hometown, next time I'm in Detroit this place will be one of my first stops!

For those of you that are exhausted with the mass production of clothing and drained from purchasing conveyor belt threads then Lost and Found vintage is the place for you. This vintage clothing haven has a little, or a lot for any guy or gal looking to freshening up their wardrobe or snag a unique gift. Moving from Fourth Street to Washington Ave. just under two years ago, Lost and Found has become a well established and appreciated boutique among locals. Offering a wide range of wares shoppers of all demographics should be satisfied with what the quaint and clever boutique has to offer. Decorated with black velvet paintings and art as kitschy and clever as the clothes, Lost and Found vintage is as welcoming to veteran vintage shoppers as it is to newbies. Delving into the endless jungle of vintage ware it seems almost in possible that any shopper will walk out empty handed. The rack of dresses are well organized, mainly by color, and makes an experience that could be easily overwhelming, uncomplicated and outrageously enjoyable. In addition to the endless selection of dresses that vary from June Clever conservativeness, to the sexy minis of the 70's to sharp two piece suits of the 50's. In addition a wide selection of shoes, handbags, boots and belts help fill this charming boutique to its 3 floored brim. Although the store's men's selection is not as nearly as bountiful as the ladies, Lost and Found still has a healthy dose of vintage fare for the guys including t-shirts, pants, shoes and accessories such as beer company themed belt buckles. Along with the men's section, patrons can find an array of soul, rock, and funk records for sale and are often spinning while you're shopping The clothes only make part of the experience. Lost and Found vintage also offers a staff that is knowledgeable (ask them about textiles, labels, sizing....), cheery, and never ever pushy when it comes to purchases. If you visit the store ask for Yvonne, she will undoubtedly find the perfect addition to your wardrobe, record collection, or jewelry box. If you're looking for an outfit for Saturday night, prom or the company holiday party this is the place to do it, from head to toe.

I have friends that shop second hand all the time. And I always admire the items they find. Myself, on the other hand, have tried vintage shopping many times and have always walked away frustrated and empty handed. It is too overwhelming for me. When I shop, I want the garment to jump out at me and scream "Buy me!!". I just don't have the patience to sift through racks after racks. And as a result, I completely avoid second hand stores. While hanging out the other day in Royal Oak, I decided to stop into Lost and Found Vintage and give vintage shopping another chance. Lost and Found Vintage is Michigan's premier vintage clothing store. It's also the go-to vintage spot for traveling celebrities, bands, film crews and fashion designers seeking inspiration. I browsed through some of the racks and found a really cute jumper but I was too lazy to try it on. I think I went through 2 racks and was already tired of browsing. I put the jumper back and started walking to the front door when Amanda, the sales person, asked if I wanted to try on anything. Since she asked, I told her "yes" and picked the jumpsuit back up to try on. I told her my frustrations with vintage shopping and she asked me what type of garments I wanted. I told her that I was looking for 60's style dresses that were full and flirty. While in the dressing room, she ended up pulling dresses that perfectly fit my description. I just started trying them all on. Thanks to Amanda, I ended up with 2 cute dresses and I also bought a crinoline to wear underneath to give the dresses more fullness.

Leon & Lulu are the owners' dog and cat. I discovered that when I told my associate, Susan, that I…read morewas taking photos for Yelp. I was then given an impromptu tour that I truly enjoyed. The store is full of eclectic and vibrant decor that will speak to the hearts of artists everywhere, ranging from clothing, to furniture, to toys and museum quality gifts. It has a variety of quirky finds that I've never seen before. The intention here is almost like a local gallery exalting each stunning piece of art, no matter how small. The pieces ranged from the very tiny porcelain dog, which was about the size of your thumb, to the very large bears, that were furry and taller than me. Colorful, diverse art dotted the walls and were displayed in all different living room themes for all different tastes and styles of home. This was a clever idea. You could picture the decor in your own home. "Buy local" is the intention here and deteriorating properties were bought up by the owner and given a stunning facelift to elevate the community. This was a closed down roller rink. There was also a cinema next door that turned to a gift shop and off beat eatery. The unique history of each is preserved in the original artifacts throughout. Being that this is art focused and unique, don't have the expectation of Walmart prices. Of course you're getting one-of-a-kind quality pieces that will make your heart sing when you see your selected art displayed proudly in your home. Leon & Lulu also will give you a discount for your birthday if you share that information. If you're in Ferndale, Clawson or Detroit, put this store on your must visit list.

It was my first time seeing the store. It was recommended by a good friend who felt I would love…read moretheir "stuff". She was absolutely right! I was amazed at the multitude of art and clothing and I purchased several things. It is now a favorite.
