What's not to like about this "wonderful" park? We were driving back home to San Francisco from LA last Friday. We travel a lot with our pup. He's a great road trip trooper. We wanted to stop somewhere other than a parking lot where he could relieve himself. I looked up parks closest to our location on the I-5 and this came up. Lost Hills is a very small town (unincorporated community, according to a Google). It looks like it is a common stop for travelers needing gas and food. This park is about two miles in from the highway. It was still morning (about 9:30 AM) when we went, so there was virtually no one ride there. Just as the other reviews state, I can confirm this place is clean and quiet and welcoming. There are picnic tables, a playground, and even a track, all of which we didn't utilize. We did use the restrooms and they were very clean, probably the cleanest park bathroom I've ever used. Anyway, our little guy sniffed around, got some relief, and headed back in the car like a happy clam. I recommend this park whether it's for you, the family, or the dog!

Lots of variety and multiple play areas accommodating all ages and activity levels.

Park is reopened and one of the best we've been to while on road trip! Definitely worth the stop to let the kids get the wiggles out. Good for all ages. Little ones will love the variety of play structures, and big kids will love the adult fitness area and basketball court! Bonus splash pad (was off during winter when we came through). Highly recommend.

Awesome stop for our two year old on our way to LA from Monterey! Super clean bathrooms. Has a splash pad too for warmer days! Great playground too!! All weather track and soccer field for a quick stretch of the legs too!

Fall is here @ the park 10/19

This park is like an oasis in the middle of this dry, dusty, and mostly barren part of the valley. There is so much to do here a family could spend hours at the park. I come here a few times a week to stretch my legs and let my dog run free. Yes, there are signs indicating dogs need to be leashed, but this place is so big she can run around without bothering anyone else. It is next to HWY 46 which can make it very loud, but the large trees and green grass make up for it. Check out my pictures to see all the "amenities" this park has to offer.

This waterpark is awesome because you have to have somebody holding the knob so the water is not on all the time. They don't waste water.

This park is a breath of fresh air after being in the car for hours. Brought all of our kids here and it's so fun. It's very well manicured and there are plenty of tables in the shade. You can sit in one spot and see the entire playground and relax while your kids play. The water park saves water. And the bathrooms are super close and very clean I'm so impressed and very grateful after that long drive

and of course, DO THE STRETCH!!

Absolutely an oasis! You would be doing a huge favor for everybody including your dogs if you don't make a stop here (many of us pass this area for a long drive)! It's absolutely well maintained, cleaned and sanitized (in the bathroom that you can smell the cleanliness!). The best part was that there is a nice track field next to it and only if I had a right shoes, I'd jog a bit before getting back on the road!!!! Everything (kids play ground seemed to have updated equipments) about this park was wonderful experience as it accommodates and meet everyone's need to stretch, walk a little and lay in the manicured lawn!

My kids waiting for the next game.

It was only a moderately hot day by Bakersfield standards, 85 according to weatherbug, but still a little hot to be eating outdoors in the sun. Luckily for me, this park has abundance of picnic tables with large shady trees close at hand. I was not the only one enjoying a picnic in the park that day, but the picnic tables (there had to be at least 20 of them) were arranged far enough apart that we all had at least a modicum of privacy. There were also a number of charcoal grilling stations sprinkled throughout the picnic areas - at least 10 of them, and I could smell hamburgers and hot dogs roasting on them. There was a large grassy area where a couple was exercising their large dogs. Yes, they were off the leash but they were having a great time bounding about and didn't bother any of the picnickers. There was a large area with playground equipment for both small and large children which I believe had sand beneath it to guard against injuries from falls. There were also basketball courts and a public restroom. There were a number of families with children out enjoying the relatively moderate weather. There was a covered area with picnic tables and people had set up a number of tent/gazebo like structures to give them shade. It was a surprisingly impromptu and lovely outing in the park. I can't believe I've never stopped here before, but I'm sure I'll be back!

Honestly, the only reason why I visit these days…read moreis only for the Philippine Weekend festivities which always takes place the last weekend of July, there's so much memories here and I love watching the kids perform. It reminds me of a time when I was younger and also performed these cultural dances. Although this place brings so much memories of my childhood, Cecil Park is still the same... restrooms are never ever cleaned and I say this because for as long as I can remember, I really don't think the city pushes for that. This is probably the most active park in Delano; however, I don't feel it's up kept as much as it should be. The lawn gets mowed and the trees get trimmed, but everyone that has kids knows that the toilets are never cleaned (since these kids are always having to use the restrooms). This park is located across the street from my HS (Delano High School) and has two parts to it. One side has a stage where the festivities are held at and the other side has a good size skate park and a kiddie pool. I honestly can't remember when Delano has put water in that kiddie pool, all I can remember is getting in this pool when I was in Kindergarten for a field trip. The skate park is definitely a plus, it keeps the kids busy and keeps them from doing things they shouldn't be doing. There's a basketball court, a playground for kids and plenty of room for other activities. Both parks are pretty big in size and has room to fit multiple parties, multiple gatherings, and other functions. There's plenty of shade and plenty of places to picnic at and there's several benches to rest at as well.

That actually worked out because my daughter and I were able to check the park out ahead of time. When we returned on Sunday with my nephew, both kids were completely enamored.
