This means that you need to pay special attention to the expiration date, as some items on the shelves are well past their use by. Of course, use your best judgement. Non perishable items are things I'm willing to happily gamble with. Good meat selection and incredibly cheap. Same with produce. Oh, and the bathrooms are relatively clean - a big plus alway. No appointments and I was the second person here still the wait is crazy. Four tires doesn't take that long to install I've did this work but a lot faster. Maybe Walmart should look into incentive paying employees per tire installed or oil changed completed. It would give employees more incentive to get more people through. The work they do is good work and it's not the people doing the work that slows things up I don't think. Everyone here are friendly at least this time of the day. Thanks Walmart for making the savings catcher an absolute nightmare. It was my most incentive for shopping at Walmart. Not that I will quit but now I will shop around before coming to Walmart. Two hours waiting that's ridiculous!! Someone who could put in a business to compete with Walmart would be successful.

There are friendly faces working, a small grocery, and a great butcher shop in the back. I used to go here because it was the only place to get Jones Soda. The last time I was there they didn't have it. I think they stopped carrying it, unfortunately. That's okay, though. The butcher shop in the back is great. The hamburger is particularly good, steaks are good, and their chicken salad is a favorite of me and my family. You only hear good things about the meats from here. There's a reason he's still in business all these years even with competitors like the nearby Sav-A-Lot and IGA. Kroger is only a 15 minute drive. I imagine most people do their grocery shopping elsewhere, at larger and cheaper grocery stores, but when you want some good meat, you come here. The small grocery section they've got here will get you by if you just need a few items and don't feel like making an extra stop. Check it out. Even if you don't need meat-- stop in just to see the place that has been in Martin for forever. Buy a pop and a candy bar or something. I don't think you'll regret it just because it's such a cool, quaint little shop.

You get real people that live in the community and are friendly and glad to see you. You get a real butcher that actually knows meat, someone that can get or cut what you need if they don't have it out. You will get a person at the register that will offer to help you out even if you only have a few things. You however won't get to fight crowds, you won't have to park a thousand feet away, you won't have to deal with 50,000 sq.ft. of store with only 4 registers open. You will never ever have to "check yourself" out. You won't be supporting some Virginia community instead of your own. Oh yea....if you decide to swing by a restaurant on the way to or from shopping; you won't have to pay 11% in fast food tax and further support another states community versus your own. So give a local place a chance next time; it may surprise you. (I am not affiliated in any way with IGA or food world).
