I've had very little experience with doctors and 0 experience with Psychiatric doctors in the past…read more My wife had been suggesting I talk with someone for a few years because of irregular changes in moods and several serious bouts of depression. I was reluctant to admit a problem and I really just figured there was not much point as I have always been this way and don't know if I'll change. After another bad month my wife caught me in a weak moment and I agreed to do it. One of my biggest hang ups on getting help was I really didn't see myself being able to talk with someone about all the issues. I picked Dr. Feintuch almost randomly off of the Psychology Today list of recommended psychiatrists in Nashville. My criteria for a doctor are my own but I basically rolled the dice and figured if it was a bad experience I could venture elsewhere. I've only been 4 or 5 times now. From the start I was very anxious and somewhat embarrassed of going. The nervousness about going has subsided the receptionist lets you in and doesn't try to make any awkward conversation and lets you wait in peace. Dr. Feintuch has a very calm and attentive affect that does not feel like the stereotypical "shrink" depicted in movies. Her office feels like a study right out of your own home and is located in a clean and comfortable American Foursquare right off of Music Row. I felt very nervous about going into this situation and was not sure how it would go. Mostly she ask questions here and there and lets you talk about what's going on in your head. She ask plenty of good questions and never comes across as critical or snooty, even when I fall into a blabbering tirade and get off topic. She did offer a few potential diagnoses that she thought might be related to my issues but not in a threatening or absolute way that made me feel labeled with a big problem. She offered potential medicines and various snippets of advice to these issues. She also recommended a book that I listened to and identified with immediately. The main reason I felt compelled to write this review is I was just last week in one of the darkest depressions I have experienced and her very simple advice(in that moment it seemed trivial)as well as my wife's support is helping to get me out bed each day and move on. I intend to continue to see Dr Feintuch on a regular basis. If you or someone you know needs a doctor to talk to, in the mental health arena, I recommend Dr Feintuch.

⁩ This is in regards to Dr. Alan J Lynch…read more This post is on behalf of someone else. **Report him to the Medical Board of Examiners for neglect and patient abuse!** He doesn't care about patients and is only in business for money and not patient health. He spent no time discussing patients healthcare or future mental health plans and instead discussed his colleagues personal life and details instead of patients because "the physician and he went to school together". What that has to do with the patient's Healthcare plan is unknown and unprofessional. Proceeded to called patient a liar after spending less than 2min in the room, highly unprofessional and inappropriate. Walked out and did not return. Horrible bedside manor! Did not discuss his medical assessment or prognosis. Uncaring, uninterested and not compassionate.. Not sure why he's not working elsewhere. Leads me to believe he is fraudulently billing and coding which is HIGHLY ILLEGAL! Puts patients on "involuntary holds" without evidence or proof of IMMEDIATE harm to oneself or others. Which leads me to believe he is fraudulently billing and coding. Which again, is HIGHLY ILLEGAL!! Did not allow for self discharge which is against hospital policy. There should be a medical review performed on him. Employees and staff ALL say he is a... D BEWARE!!! STAY AWAY! There are similar reviews of him online. He addressed a similar situation in 2018 involving someone being kept from going to a funeral with a direct reply, "I'm sorry to hear about your loss and apologize for your experience. We will continue seeking ways to become better in our treatment and care. Your feedback is appreciated." Doesn't appear anything has changed since, as far as his medical proficiency is concerned. He obviously has not pursued any continuing education that might be effective or beneficial for mental health treatment in a hospital setting

It's not just his odd behavior in session including randomly lashing out at his own paying patient when his waiting room is otherwise completely empty. It's much more than that. It's asking political opinions, bashing 12 step programs (arbitrarily, not providing any reason), asking for computer help and stock trading advice (this actually happened. My assumption was he couldn't afford a receptionist at the time since he handled all his appointments through his cell phone and didn't know how to use the patient software. also asking me to look at the software was Barton just casually violating all of those patients HIPPA rights but I digress), and all the while never asking "how are you feeling", "how is x you mentioned last session going", "how is y going","How's the medication working out". Literally nothing, it was so strange, like he actually resented being a psychiatrist. One time he started crying in session about his father. I felt bad for him, but you can't take people's money and then abuse them in session and cry about yourself, you're a doctor. Shame on you, Daniel. Shame on you for violating my trust in a physician when I was going through great turmoil in my life and shame on you for making my diagnoses worse than before I had come to you with your twisted brand of psychiatry. Also, as a long time IT professional with a ton of web and social exp, I gotta say it's really suspicious when a relatively unknown, medium size town physician gets large amounts of LONG reviews that are positive. But they can't be fake reviews or the work product of a rep management company because that would be illegal and the AMA would have a huge problem with it. just an observation.

She had become combative and they thought she might need her meds adjusted. When we first took her to st. Thomas she could walk and talk ( although didn't make much sense). She could feed herself and was continent. When we picked her up 3 weeks later she was completely and totally unresponsive. She had become incontinent and had list 15pounds during those 3 weeks. She was transferred back to the memory care unit with hospice. She received so much medication at the hospital she couldn't wake up at all! After returning to the memory care ( where she did not receive any medication) within about 4 days she began to respond. She did reach a point where she could take a few steps with assistance and pivot to a wheelchair. She had to be fed and never regained bladder or bowel control. She never got back to baseline. During the first 2 weeks we weren't allowed to visit. On the third week we could visit 1 hr a day but we were given in writing that we were not to ask the nurses about her condition. This hour was for visiting only. We could almost NEVER get to talk with any staff on the phone. I finally started calling at 4 in the morning to talk to a nurse. And nobody would call us back. It was awful. Come to find out she had a UTI which was probably why she was combative in the first place! If you can possibly avoid it don't send your love one there!

I owe Dr, Tang and his staff my sanity!! I am bipolar (a…read morelabel I resisted for a long time). I accepted my depression but didn't want to recognize the mania aspect. His therapist was patient to point out recurring episodes that are clearly manic. I reluctantly agreed but was okay with my 'mania' because I am extremely productive during these times. (In essence I wanted to treat my depression but keep my mania) About 5 months into TMS, therapy, and medications, I (like so many patients) felt very good and discontinued treatment. Gradually (over 6 months), coupled with major traumatic events, my bipolar disorder became uncontrollable. Insomnia and panic attacks were taking over my life. I had never had a history of insomnia and panic attacks. These led to severe depression (and I no longer had my desired mania to help motivate me). In desperation (and much to my shame and embarrassment), I reached out to Dr. Tang and asked for help. His staff was gentle, understanding, and nonjudgmental about my self discontinued treatment. I was quickly seen (via Face Time...I love this because I don't drive and truly had no energy for an office visit) by a nurse and then Dr. Tang. I was honest with everything this go around. Within one week on the proper medications and support, I began sleeping, eating, and being productive in what I would consider a 'normal' fashion. I (and my family and friends) were getting the 'old me' back!! It was so wonderful she exciting!! Today (just one month later), I am free!! Dr. Tang (after careful and considerate review of my symptoms and history) NAILED my situation!!! No more panic attacks. No more insomnia (I have a great 8 hours of sleep). No more depression. And no more mania ((I am okay without it if it leads to me panic and insomnia that was severely debilitating. I am so very glad I returned to Dr. Tang. Again, there was no judgment concerning my decision to'do my own thing' without Dr, Tang and therapy. I am so at ease and balanced!! I highly recommend Nashville Brain Institute. Trust him and be honest. I did and am living again!!

Overall I got bad vibes from them and so I'm leaving this review just to let them know that you lost a client before you even had them by being very bad at following up and very unclear and unforthright in your costs. Meanwhile other TMS and neurfeedback clinics in Nashville got back to me in 1 day. The only reason I tried to give this one a chance is because it was a closer drive, but it's just not worth it.
