Went on the 3rd of July. They were busy but not slammed when we got there, near the end of the dinner rush... many tables cleared out before we even got our food. Food : pretty good all around, nothing was stellar. Ribs were the standout. The cauliflower pizza was WAY overcooked (dry, burnt crust all around and black cheese at the edges). They didnt care, didnt offer to make a new one or remove from the bill... my 9 year old was starving so he ate half the pie and didnt touch the crust. normally he'd have eaten all of it in one go (as he does monthly at Mod Pizza with their cauliflower pizza) Service needs improvement : slow (took 45 mins to get food), and mainly from teens... so lost a star for that. They didn't seat us where we asked even though it would have only been a 5 min wait... then they proceeded to give it to 10 teens that walked in 5 minutes after they sat us (party of 9). Inside the building is hot and humid.. and it wasn't that hot of humid outside that day - we spend the entire day outside already. read more

We were visiting Honey Creek Resort over Mother's Day weekend and came here for dinner on Saturday night. It has fast casual service but with food that you would see at a nice full service restaurant. I ordered a special among several choices, the chimichurri flank steak that was smoked and then prepared with the sous vide method and I'd highly recommend that if available. The chef (maybe the owner?) came out and asked how it was and told me a little about it, I could tell he's passionate about his food. Others with me got the pizza and smokehouse burger-everyone was happy with their food! Seems like it might be a lively fun, busy place in warmer weather too. read more

We decided on this restaurant based on recommendations from the Preserve Golf Course staff. We had a hard time getting a table - they thought they could remember everyone waiting for a table in order and if they wanted inside or outside. Too much confusion. We finally got a table and ordered the ribs - fall off the bones ribs. The service was good and we talked to Tim, the owner for quite a while. The salad bar was subpar. read more

I've been here twice. First time I had the Cuban and the second time I had this amazing salad. They put a little bistro twist on their menu selections. I don't think I've had a better tasting salad in a long time. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food. About $10 per person for an entree. Good service, very attentive. Plus lake marina view and you can sit out on the deck and eat. A must try when you are at Rathbun lake! read more

Good meal. Service was decent. Earlier in night so not a lot of other people. Our table started with an artichoke appetizer. Most of our table ordered the NY strip, I tried to to substitute for a baked potato and was told that wash not an option. A "smashed" potato showed up. So, indirectly able to meet my request. They didn't have a kids meal but here able to make a few kids options. My kids shared a pepperoni pizza and they both really enjoyed it. Overall a decent meal and good service. This is a hidden gem of a restaurant. While it doesn't look much like a bistro the food was excellent! I had the chicken spedini and my husband had ribs, both exceeded our expectations. Friendly servers and overall a good experience in this lake town eatery. read more

The best thing I can say is that the Bud Light was cold. The Blue Moon was warm. We stopped for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon and ordered sandwiches. The steak sandwich was terrible!!! Rubbery and severely undercooked. I ordered a Cuban but wish I would have chose something else. It's a cute little restaurant on the lake but very simple. Don't expect too much. Horrible food. I ordered the "Bird of Paradise" which was supposed to be a chicken sandwich, it was breaded with panko & it basically tasted like fish sticks & it was more bun than anything. My husband & I witnessed the cooks in the back, picking up fries & serving them with their BARE HANDS. The drinks we ordered were flat. Everyone who works there is slack, a lot of standing around & not much going on "upstairs". Terrible experience- will not be going back. And Tim- Tighten Up! read more

We were so disappointed with our experience on Saturday night! First we have been trying to get to this place for months, its always either closed or we're not able to go when they are open! We moved into the area last July so have been trying to check out all the places that are close. By far sadly this is one of the worst! When we arrived we didn't know where to sit, we found an empty dirty table and flagged a server down and asked if we could sit there, and would she clean it off? She said it was OK and was going to wipe it down. We waited for a time and no one came over, we finally flagged her down again and asked for the table to wiped down. She sent another girl over to wipe the table. We had already gathered the chairs we needed. We then flagged her down and asked for waters and drinks, she took our drink order, and we waited, and waited! After a significant length of time and seeing that the bartender (outside) was doing nothing, we once again flagged our server down to inquire about our drinks, with an attitude she said the outside bartender doesn't make drinks, only the inside. we had not even seen the inside. She went inside and came right back out with our drinks! We then ordered our food, they were out of some items, and we understand that happens. We made other choices. We then started the wait for our food. At one point when we had flagged our server down she came over and with a very nasty attitude she let us know that its busy tonight and she has other things to do because they are short staffed. Well young lady, first off we are the consumers, don't give us your problems with that attitude; secondly, you sure had time to stand around and chat with friends and others that you knew. Yes, we were watching you closely after that. My husband and friend got the 'salad bar', they were shocked to see it was nothing more then some greens and dressing, and croutons that had no spoon, so people were using their hands to get them! I'm sure the health dept would not agree with this practice. I would suggest a large spoon for people to use. My friend made that suggestion and was met with a negative response from the staff she told. Once we received our food, we all agreed it was OK, nothing special, but edible. the pizza that our friend's daughter ordered was clearly a frozen pizza. We were very disappointed as we had heard good things about Louies! It has a great location and could be a great place for a night out; but we felt like unwelcomed, and a place that only wants their regulars and not new consumers. There are not that many places to have a dinner out in the area but I can speak with confidence we will probably not be back here. :( read more

There were so many flies inside we had to cover our food & drinks, on a 93° day you couldn't tell the difference when walking inside it was terribly hot & uncomfortable! Our waitress was lax to say the least we sat with empty beers for over 20 minutes & was never directed to the salad bar that came with our meal we found out too late. The ribs were so tough we couldn't get them off the bone let alone eat them. Baked potatoes were no good either. We were under the understanding that the restaurant had went under a renovation...didn't see any changes from last year. Sorry but this was a terrible dining experience from the flies to the heat & unseasoned waitress. Was planning on a group outing here but not now. read more

It appears I had a totally different experience from the other reviewers! There were 3 in our party and we ordered sandwiches (lunch). When we inquired what other sides were available (besides fries) the waitress seemed perplexed and finally answered "chips". Then I asked if we could please substitute a side salad for the fries and she checked and said "yes". Side salad was actually amazing in that it was a spring mix with tomatoes and good Ranch dressing. The sandwiches not so great; my jalapeno burger (actually a double) was dry. The steak sandwich was tough. And I now forget the 3rd person's sandwich but nothing that made him want to return either. No refills on drinks whether it was ice tea or water. When the bill arrived we were charged $8.95 for each sandwich and $3.00 for each side salad. I asked if we wouldn't receive some credit for not having fries, again the waitress seemed clueless as to what I was asking. We all concluded - we've had better but we've also had worse ... no reason to ever return. read more
