We read the great reviews and decided to try it out. When we walked in I thought...OK, standard Iowa bar, but boy, it's much more than that. Bar seating and additional high top seats set back from the bar, along with tables and lots of TVs. We grabbed a table and got in our drink orders. They don't have a wide variety of beer and distilled spirits, but it's ample. Our food came out in short order and was fantastic! My wife got a Mushroom Burger and I got the Steak Philly. It was REAL steak, and may heave been the best I've ever had. My wife's burger was also great, and had lots of shrooms. Fries (and sandwiches) were all hot and fresh. Continuing on our perpetual vacation, we ended up in Ottumwa Iowa. Searching for a great hamburger led us up at Uncle Bucks on the south side of town. I had the loaded mushroom burger and my wife had the Swiss burger. Prices were very reasonable, large portions, great taste, pool bar vibe and great service. I highly recommend. Also check out their steak. It looked incredible even though we didn't have it. FYI, they have steak specials, and daily specials that looked great. read more

We were driving through town and I was looking for a place off 34 hiway. I saw the reviews and my wife and I tried it out. So, the first thing when we walked in my wife was amazed how clean the place was for a bar. We walked in after the lunch crowd around 1:30. They had a nice menu with a variety of apps, and sandwiches. Burgers they are famous for, as well as what we had was the tenderloin. It was large so we split it. It was very good with great french fry's. The bartender did a great job as the server. He was very friendly he made us feel welcome. So, if you are looking for a clean place that has good food for lunch or dinner this is the place for you. Enjoy! read more

Hadn't been in a couple of years during the Blakesburg fly in so we decided to go back this year. The food was fabulous; service a little slow on checking in however not terrible. I will say to ensure you ask which beer is on happy hour prices. Otherwise the food is highly recommended; swiss mushroom burger and Buffalo Chicken Wrap. What a great place to eat and have a few drinks!! They have daily specials along with a regular menu. You can have anything from steak and shrimp to just an appetizer. Kids meals are even on the menu! Service - Stacy and Melissa do a fantastic job taking care of you. They always have a smile and are happy to serve Food - This afternoon I had the tenderloin. It was delicious!! Fresh buns, lettuce, tomato...cooked perfect!! What else could you possibly want?!? Drinks - Ice tea was the beverage of choice this afternoon. I think the thing that impressed me the most is I didn't have to ask for sweetener or a spoon. Stacy brought them out with my drink, not to mention their fun new straws! I have had their Bloody Mary's in the evening. By far, the best in Ottumwa!! Atmosphere - Very clean bar/restaurant. I wouldn't hesitate to bring out of town guests here. The patrons of this establishment are top of the line as for Stacy doesn't put up with any crap from anyone! Restrooms - This is where most bars/restaurants neglect. Not here!! Many get a box and take 1/2 home for later. And the menu has more. They serve more than bar-food. I've only been here for lunch and burgers, but if the other offerings are as good as the burgers, it will be well worth the price.
