    Stuffed mushrooms
    Alicia M.

Louie's is one of the nicer restaurants in the area, but the quality of the food is inconsistent. On my most recent visit, I ordered several appetizers (i.e. crab cakes, wonton tacos, stuffed mushrooms) in lieu of an entrée. The crab cakes were overcooked and way too salty (this happened on a previous visit also). The stuffed mushrooms were different sizes, so the smaller ones were tender and the larger ones were undercooked. The stuffing inside the mushrooms was watery and there was nothing special about it. The wonton tacos were average, which unfortunately was a win compared to the other dishes. Louie's provides complimentary bread to each table. It consists of cornbread, yummy rolls, and what appears to be blueberry scones. They are all delicious! Overall, I think Louie's is too pricey for the quality of the food. However, I'm sure I'll return due to the limited options in the area.

The food here is amazing! We started with crab cakes for our appetizer . From presentation to flavor, IT WAS THERE! For dinner I had the Cajun salmon, my husband ordered the ribeye. Both were delicious! If you like to drink, i would recommend just ordering shots... Not sure why this place only has 2 stars but my experience was very pleasant.

Service slow. Food slow. I had better food in the public school cafeteria. Bad experience.

Doe's, you were everything I'd hoped you would be…read more I love me some Doe's Eat Place. I have been to locations in Biloxi, Baton Rouge, and Monroe. Hell, I go to Doe's in Monroe every single time I am in Monroe. When I would profess my love for Doe's to my Mississippi friends they would always tell me: "you have to go to the Greenville location. It's the original". I figured they were right but also figured I would never be in Greenville since there are not many things to do there. But 2025 was the year that I finally made it here. We made a special stop on the way to Eureka Springs. It was everything I had hoped and I absolutely loved it. You must know that this is the original location and it is not fancy on the outside or the inside. Parking is mostly on the street and the neighborhood seems a wee bit sketchy. The building looks like an old house from the outside. Needless to say, the kids were skeptical and wondered why their dad drug them here. That continued when we walked in to the kitchen, walked through the other kitchen, and were seated in one of the rooms. One of the kids said: "I feel like I am dining at someone's house". Exactly. This place is famous! All skepticism was washed away when we got our food. A ribeye and fries for me and a fillet and fries for them to share. Both were perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and made this Doe's fan grin from ear to ear. It was a great meal I will remember forever. Was it cheap? Definitely not. For two entrees, a beer, and a tea, it was around $200 with a tip. Was it worth it to me? Hell yes. I freakin loved it. Is it worth a drive from New Orleans just to eat here? Probably not. Should you divert a road trip to eat here? Absolutely. By the way, service was exactly as you would expect. Super friendly and we were treated like regulars despite it being our first time. Also, there was a cop working outside so don't be scared.

I was kind of worried since it's a nice looking place surrounded by businesses that appear to be permanently closed. However, a crowd picked up closer to 8, so I can tell it's a local favorite. Our server was amazing! Didn't have to ask for refills, condiments or anything. She handled us really well and answered any questions we had. I ordered one of the daily specials, blackened redfish. Menu said it came on orzo, which I don't like so I subbed for the long grain rice. I added a side of broccolini. Food came out hot and in a reasonable amount of time. My fish, with that Cajun cream sauce, melted in my mouth! I didn't like the rice, as it was gummy but the broccolini was cooked as if a gold medal was the prize at the end of the night! My only misgiving about it was I wanted more of it!

I would suggest calling for reservations. I told them we were celebrating an 80th birthday but there was no recognition. We ordered appetizers: Fried Green Tomatoes: these came with a crawfish sauce which was excellent! Savory and creamy, a perfect compliment to the tanginess on the tomatoes. Duck Wraps: such a great combination of the duck, creamy cheese, spicy jalapeños and salty bacon. Boudin Egg Rolls: these were spicy. Not my jam at all. They were cooked well with a crispy crust and moist spicy inside stuffing. For Dinners: The ribeye: we're used to a $55 steak being a very high quality and well cooked. I just don't think the price equaled the steak. The bone in pork chop was very well seasoned and was perfectly cooked. There was a lot of fat on the chop both throughout and on the edges. The sides were very good! The zucchini and summer squash was the star of the plate. Well seasoned and cooked in a way that they had a slight crispiness. Simple yet wonderful. The baked sweet potato was wonderful, creamy and buttery. The Tuscan Chicken: this is as served on a bed of rice. The chicken was cooked well, juicy and tender. The sauce was creamy with sun dried tomatoes and spinach. The sauce needed salt. The Redfish: perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The rice was also well seasoned. Very good dish The fried catfish was well seasoned and cooked well. The tartar sauce was made in house and very good. The blackened catfish was very good. Well seasoned. 6 entrees, 5 appetizer orders and 3 coffees with the 20% tip that was automatically added to our ticket due to having 6 people in our party was $358. I felt it was a fair price for what we received. Service was good.

It also had vegetables like broccoli, mushrooms and onions tossed about which really made for a delicious combination. It's located in a shopping center close to Kroger and Lowes. The shopping center also had 3 other restaurants in it. One was Mexican, one was Chinese and one was this Japanese restaurant that we decided to eat at. The 4th was a Chinese/Japanese American all rolled into one restaurant. Beijing Chinese restaurant is right next to this Japanese restaurant we decided to eat at. Parking: There's plenty of parking as it is in a shopping center with a bunch of other stores and restaurants. There's also a mall in the area. The customer service: First of all, I called on phone to find out about prices and menu items. It was hard to get anything out of her because she wasn't very talkative or knowledgeable. I decided to eat here anyway since for $11.99 you can get a Japanese steak, rice, vegetables, soup and a salad. I thought that was a pretty good deal. She took our orders for drinks and gave us our menus right when we got there. She let our drinks which was sweet tea become empty on half of us. She also did not check back on us. She mostly stood behind the counter talking to another co Worker. However, we did get refills by holding up our empty cups. Therefore, I they get 4 Stars. Other menu items: They have appetizers, several soups and salads like miso soup, stir fried noodles, fried rice of course, chicken tempura bento, hibachi dinners like salmon, shrimp, steak and chicken, combination dinners, sushi rolls such as tuna, potato, and Philadelphia. Other special sushi rolls include; crab, volcano, spicy girl, pink lady, sunset, crunch, snow mountain, ichiban, rainbow, lion king, Godzilla, and even a dragon fly roll. They also have kids meals, desserts, and side orders like mushrooms and carrots. In summary, I will come back because of the great food and prices. However, the waitresses need more training on watching to make sure their customers don't run out of drinks. It is the simple truth: All great restaurants check back on their customers and give great service by just refilling their drinks and cooking delicious food -It's that easy.
