I drive more than an hour (one way) for my appointments with Dr. Conte. I was living in the Red Bank area when he first became my dentist in the late 90s, but I have since moved north, now living in Bloomfield. I have slowly picked new doctors closer to where I live, but have no plans to pick a new dentist. Besides providing excellent dental service, Dr. Conte is very personable, as demonstrated by he always asks about my parents, my job, my life, etc. No doctor/dentist I've ever been to takes that much time just chatting with you. He also genuinely cares about his patients. After my mom had a stroke and was in a wheelchair, she wanted to return to Dr. Conte but his old office didn't have a ramp. Dr. Conte offered that we could come in on a day he was closed and he would help carry my mom, wheelchair and all, up the steps into his office. (We didn't follow through on this offer, but what doctor/dentist does this?? I mean, we can just stop at "I'll come in on a day we're closed" without even getting into the offer to use his own muscle to get a patient in the door.) Dr. Conte is also very funny, and you want some humor when you're about to have a cavity filled. His staff is excellent too--the dental hygienists, front desk. And since I haven't been to another dentist in so long, maybe this is standard now, but you've gotta love the high definition TV on the ceiling that you can watch while having a cleaning. read more

I am 69 years old. I visited Dr. Conte 10 years after my family Dentist retired. During those 10 years I completely neglected my teeth until my wife and family insisted that my teeth looked like I should have been in the movie Deliverance. I found Dr. Conte thanks to Yelp reviews. He and his staff were exceptionally helpful, patient, enthusiastic, and fully explained the extent of work required to restore my teeth and, important to my wife, my smile. The work was extensive and involved extraction of a number of diseased teeth and capping of my entire upper front teeth (about 14). The entire process was completed in less than 9 months. I showed my wife the results at the end of my last visit (which was today) and she said my teeth look better than they have in 30 years. I can't speak more highly of Dr. Conte and his staff. Absolutely painless work on my teeth, patient and caring about my comfort during each treatment, and, a special benefit, joyous and enthusiastic about what they do. I changed dentists to Dr. Conte over 3 years ago, & I'm pleased to say I made the right choice. In my opinion, I find Dr. Conte to be very knowledgeable, as well honest. He'll explain to you in detail what work that should be done, before doing it. As for myself, when making the move to Dr, Conte, I needed a lot of dental work to be done. I was well aware of this before going to see him. Dr. Conte addressed my major concerns first, to minimize my initial costs, unlike other dentists I have used in the past. Pain or discomfort? Not during my 3 year tenure. As for the rest of the staff? From the moment I walk in the door, until I'm done & making my next appointment; visiting Dr. Conte's office is a professional & welcoming experience. The receptionists are friendly & will work around YOUR personal schedule. NEVER a problem w/billing, they'll work w/you on payments if necessary. The hygienist's are very thorough, as well experienced, to ensure a proper cleaning. My experience with Dr. Conte's office has always been great. I have been going there for years. They do a great job and are always so friendly. The front desk is very kind and helpful. The office follows up to confirm your appointment via email, phone call and text, whatever you sign up for. I find that to be helpful since life gets busy and sometimes you forget that you need to go for a cleaning. Joanne is great as the hygienist , very friendly and takes her time with the cleaning to make sure you get the best results. She is very friendly and makes sure that you are comfortable the whole time. Dr. Conte is very thorough with his examination to make sure that you do not have any problem areas. If you ever do have any issues that need attention, the staff is very helpful to get you back in the office quickly so that they can complete the work that is necessary. I have been going to Dr. Conte for the last 3 years and I still need more work done on my mouth. I had high doses of radiation for Cancer treatment and my teeth have really suffered. I had to have root canal and cap all the bottom teeth, I was told this couldn't be done by another dentist since I had such an overbite. Dr. Conte took his time to open up my bite so I could fit the new teeth in my mouth. He has worked countless hours to make my smile look amazing. He is always available if I have a problem or have any pain at all. He is extremely gentle and most the time I do not even feel the shots to numb my mouth. He is extremely honest and will not do work if you do not need it. I would recommend him without any reservation at all. He also has a wonderful staff that are always happy and excited to see patients. I didn't have to go for a few months and I really missed them, lol. Lou has been my family dentist for over 10 years, and I'd heartily recommend him. He's been super helpful in providing dental care and advice to me and my family. He once came in on July 4 to help a friend suffering with a wisdom tooth who couldn't get his dentist to see him until after the holiday weekend! Though he doesn't normally see children, he agreed to care for my kids, who had struggled with their pediatric dentist. Lou's calm and friendly demeanor put them at ease enough that they sat in the chair without issues. Now they love going to the dentist office, and not just because of the TVs mounted on the ceiling! Everyone raves about Joanne . . . and it's well deserved. Softest hands ever, and always on top of your condition and needs. Office going through a renovation now, with more top of the line equipment arriving. It has always been sparkling and bright, with constant attention to equipment. Parking on street or in the lot never a problem . . . which is a rarity for Red Bank. I'm 76, with constant need to address old work as it ages, but Dr. Conte always on top of it. We agree on doing everything we can together to keep teeth in good condition. He's a big believer in electric toothbrushes to keep plaque at a minimum, and gums healthy. Switched brands lately on Joanne's recommendation, and results even better. read more

Aside from working wonders on my husband who was a perpetual tooth grinder and needed years of corrective work...Conte's office really stands out to me because of what they have done for my three kids - 4, 6, and 8. For years I tried different dental practices with my kids trying to find a place where my oldest wasn't completely terrified. Even after seeing numerous children specialists, my husband brought my kids with him to one of Conte's apts. Truly miraculously, their fear and dread were gone! The gentle nature and very comforting approach of the practitioners made my children very comfortable and now there is never a fight about seeing the dentist! Dr. Conte is great- he's knowledgeable and definitely cares about his patients. I've had general cleanings, cavities filled and now I'm currently an Invisalign patient (currently on tray 8/23 and I'm already seeing results). I've been pleased with the service throughout the whole process. The wait time is next to none and they get you in and out of the office. They send you text message reminders of your appointments. They also have 7 AM appointments some days, which allows me to have appointments in the morning, commute into Manhattan and make it to work as a reasonable hour. The staff and hygienists are all very friendly as well. I would definitely recommend Dr. Conte and his team! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Conte for as long as I can remember. He and his staff are professional, knowledge and pleasant. I am always called in within 5 minutes of my scheduled appointment, which one knows is the exception in the world of dentistry today. Joanne and the other staff members always have a smile on their face and make my visits fun. A little over a year ago, Dr. Conte noticed a problem on the right side of my jaw. He recommended that I see a specialist. Long story short, their was a LARGE cyst that had to be removed. I cannot say enough about the excellent service and professionalism at Dr. Conte's office!! My first experience at the office was for Dr. Conte to evaluate an extremely sensitive tooth that I was sure was going to need root canal or to be pulled. He recommended sensitive toothpaste and to use a soft brush. Coleen is so friendly and very accommodating for emergency and standard appointments. Wait times are minimal; they respect your time! My anxiety over anesthesia needles has been eliminated due to Dr. Conte's special technique. Everyone is a pleasure to deal and the office is always super clean. Dr. Conte and staff are wonderful! Everyone is very friendly and the office is beautiful and has state of the art equipment. I am a new patient and today had repair work done on an eye tooth. There was a deep grove in it and work done by a different dental practice had fallen out. Dr. Conte's work is exceptional! Dr. Conte is a great dentist. He has been our family dentist since I was a kid and I was one of his first orthodontic patients. After all these years, I had trouble with a permanent retainer and visited Dr. Conte and he fixed it for free. Dr. Conte was also my swim instructor and has a very lovely family. I can't remember how long Lou has been our dentist - maybe 16 years! He's amazing. His care is considerate; he walks you through what he's doing; he's funny, respectful, and trustworthy. The TV is on the ceiling - fancy. And you can play your music while he works on your teeth. There is a new dental hygienist who is AMAZING! I have sensitive teeth, but barely felt what she did. Dr. Conte has been my dentist for years. I've always been extremely happy with the care I've received from him. This past weekend I had a dental emergency. Dr. Conte met me at his office on Sunday to evaluate the damage to my teeth. On Monday he and his staff made room for me to be seen.
