He arrived early, was professional and most prepared for his setup (he had the equipment necessary for both the setup & teardown as well as for the event). This was my first time hiring a DJ and now I simply need to create more reasons to have him back! The mirror booth was a crowd favorite. The uplighting and custom booth graphic were most impressive to our guests. The sound was perfect for my neighborhood, the music transitions were fire! The fact that he had a microphone available so food service could be announced to the crowd as well as the couple could thank their guests for coming was a bonus. Josh was great to work with! He did our ceremony and reception music and it was seamless. He went above and beyond as a DJ - I felt like we could ask questions and get his advice without hesitation. I had 2 zoom calls with him and he was open to having another one if necessary (it wasn't necessary). I added several of my own songs, including some songs that are not as well known and controversial (lol politics) and he didn't care, which was super important to us. I hired Josh at Love & Light Entertainment for a 50th Anniversary party. He was fantastic to work with - so organized and great with communication. He really worked with us to pull a great mix of oldies, East Indian music, contemporary pop, and even K pop, as we had such a diverse group. He did an excellent job as our MC too. At the event I was very happy that the volume level seemed to be set perfectly for the space. The sound was adjusted well for dinner, toasts, and dancing. Josh was an excellent choice for our wedding! Our guests raved that the music selection was great. As a bride and groom born in the late 80s/early 90s, we asked Josh to lean on music of the late 90s/early 00s mixing in some oldies and music from today to get everybody dancing, and he did just that. We had a party filled with folks on the dance floor all night--including family you wouldn't normally expect to see let loose out there. Beyond just the music selection, Josh was great at keeping the timeline of the party going. I chose not to go with a day-of coordinator or wedding planner, instead managing a lot of the details myself. I was able to give Josh a timeline of the day, and especially the reception, and he followed it to a tee--always coming to check-in first to make sure we were ready to move on in a couple minutes--whether to speeches, cake cutting, or even just from the cocktail reception to actual reception and dinner. Because of Josh's organization and all around excellent DJ-ing, as a Type A bride, I was able to let go and just enjoy our day. read more

Josh is an incredible DJ! Not only was he able to incorporate a lot of guest requests into his set, but his song choices kept the dance floor poppin' despite the fact that we had a relatively small guest count! In planning, he takes great care in making sure he's clear on what your vision is and what he can do to help support it. Josh has a television on the front of his DJ booth that he was able to utilize in a ton of creative and helpful ways. Using a QR code, our guests were able to send him photos (both historical pics and photos people were taking at the wedding itself) to display on his booth, which was an awesome way to make the wedding interactive and light. We also displayed our childhood photos on the screen throughout the night (in between the guest submission photos) which was an endearing touch -- he really is able to do so many things with his setup that can be tailored to the theme/colors/energy of your wedding. But the BIGGEST thing that we loved about having the TV on his booth is that he was able to display a video toast from a veryyyyy dear friend that wasn't able to make it to the wedding. We hired Joshua for our Halloween wedding and we are so happy with our decision. Joshua was always on top of planning, even offering a portal where we can filter through songs and ask guests for song requests. We postponed our wedding from last year to this year due to COVID and I was so stressed with constantly emailing our vendors and putting reminders in my calendar to email them for updates. I didn't have to do any of this with Joshua. He would actually email me first and made the process so much easier! He also was ready to jump on a call at anytime, helped with the timeline, and I felt like he genuinely cared and was passionate about what he does. He suggested we get amber uplights to go with our theme (and included dance lighting) and I am SO happy with the results. It really brought the visuals together and the pictures look amazing!' Onto the wedding day. Joshua was on time and set up fast. He was on point with the timeline, but also knew when to wait a few minutes to start. Both of our families didn't like our choice for reception music and constantly went up to him to request something more upbeat, but Joshua didn't change the music until he brought it up with us. He was quick to play requests (but also knew which songs not to play when my drunk friends made requests). The number one thing is that he audio recorded our speeches and got videos of us dancing all night. This was important because our videographer didn't show that night. He was quick to send over everything he had so we could piece together our special night! Honestly, I can go on all day about how great Joshua was. I highly recommend him for any event! read more

I wanna give Josh 1000 stars for being the most amazing DJ I have ever met! I came across his services on Yelp as I was searching for wedding DJ's. After speaking with several DJ's I chose Josh bc he sounded the most human, and I could sense his professionalism and passion in one phone call. My husband and I cannot thank him enough for keeping us in check during our wedding day, and holding our hands throughout our planning stages. He was so attentive during our planning, and offered an easy to use client portal for song selection and sampling. He gave us his TIME and he personally visited the venue to ensure he is familiar with the event space beforehand. He is a true professional in his work as he even tried to help me with put together a few Chinese songs for my traditional tea ceremony, which he had no idea what it even is. DJ J Loops dj for our wedding on 6/11/17. I've been to many weddings and know that a dj can make or break the experience. So we wanted to make sure we had a solid dj. Josh from the beginning made the experience great. He really catered to us and was interested in making the big day a success. By the way he communicates you can tell he's experienced and knows what he is doing. Logistically, Josh had everything down pat He made sure he had the timelines, events, pronunciation of names, and etc down to the wire. He had just the right amount of communication where you feel comfortable that you are on the same page, but not over the top where you feel pestered. I would say Josh's best strength is his organization and his knowledge of music. He will be able to play anything that you request, but he knows his music where you can give him genres or the type of mood you want and he'll be able to do it. He managed to turn a plan for an indoor wedding into a ceremony-outside, reception-inside affair at a single day's notice (who could've predicted 70 degree weather in mid-February, after all?). Finished the receiving line very ahead of schedule? He's got a plan to switch around toasts so that there's not a big gap before food. Furthermore, not only was he an amazing, unflappable rock during the chaos of our big day, but he also went out of his way to be of assistance. It turns out that quilt-based chuppahs that work very well indoors don't translate well into the windy, wild outdoors. But DJ J Loops worked with our coordinator to help engineer a solution.
