Came here for a 52 Firsts event during Spring Fest and it ended up being such a fun day. There was…read morea lot going on without feeling overwhelming. Live energy, little activity tables, and a small plant sale that was honestly very tempting. One of the coolest things I learned is that they have what's believed to be the oldest ginkgo tree in both North and South America. That alone made the visit feel a little special. I spent some time walking the trails and made my way around the water too. It's really pretty back there. Lots of flowers in bloom, open space, and quieter areas if you want a break from the crowd. I definitely liked the more shaded, tree-heavy sections the most. Some of the booths were set up fully in the sun and it got a bit intense after a while, so having those cooler, shaded areas made a big difference. Staff were very helpful and the trails are clearly marked, which made it easy to just wander without worrying about getting lost. Only downside is the location can be a little tricky to get to, especially if you're not driving. But once you're there, it's absolutely worth it. Overall just a really enjoyable, laid-back outdoor spot with a lot to explore. I'd come back, especially for another event.

The flowers were gorgeous. You get a nice view of the city from the boat dock and parking area. I spent a few hours here. Great if you're solo or with people.

Another nice perk is that you can return a book from any participating library at another library, it doesn't have to be the same one. From their website: (LOGIN) A group of libraries in Gloucester, Cumberland and Salem Counties who share their resources through a computerized bibliographic database. Residents with West Deptford Library cards can go and borrow materials from the twenty-three other libraries that belong to LOGIN. At any rate, the librarians here are friendlier than the ones in my hometown, so we usually end up here. There's a large children's section and ample parking. One of the better libraries in the area for sure.

There are some great libraries in Gloucester County, and this one might be the best one of them…read moreall... It's pretty large, at least four librarians on duty whenever I visit, and plenty of services for everyone's needs. One of the most impressive features within this library is the children's section. It's isolated away from where the adults and teens search for books, read and use the many computers that's available. The kids section has everything from activities, to books and videos, to several children's use only computers. The other thing that's great here is all of the classes offered and meeting space that's available in the conference room. I've seen everything there from seniors classes, arts and crafts, counseling classes, presentations, and even tax preparations. The ladies who work there are always helpful and are really good at getting you answers to your questions, and finding the books or forms that you may need. For a relatively small town, there are big things going on inside this building here.

Had my sons bday party here this past weekend and it was Great! Space is very open and I was able…read moreto decorate the place anyway I wanted. I didn't do anything huge bc I only had the place for half hour before the party started, but for what I did, my friends and family raved about it. I rented the back two thirds of the room. The middle section was where the fake fire place was at and where his gifts were being kept during the duration of the party. The back third was facing towards a cemetary. Like the other reviewer stated, it's not really creepy. It's actually really nice. The window was huge and I'm sure you could have put up some sort of curtains if you didn't want to see it, but I liked the fact that my guests were able to sit by the window. The only reason why they didn't get 5 stars...bc they lost my room setup sheet that I submitted when I made my final payment and when I did make my final payment, the person couldn't find my original contract. UGH!! Made me very nervous when I received a phone call the day before my event informing me that they didn't have my floor plan. I was kinda nervous they would cancel my event cause I thought they also didn't get my last payment. They need a better filing system. I think I might have gotten them some new clients! :-) Some of my friends liked it so much, they picked up the renting pamplet.

The staff keeps the place looking great and are welcoming to all who enter. This is a place where the community comes together like no other venue in the area.

According to some of the brochures that are in the gift shop Fort Mifflin and Fort Mercer were the reason today we won our independence in the revolutionary war. Very interesting facts and extremely knowledgeable tour guides make this visit a great trip. Some of the original buildings are still standing including some of the jails they housed prisoners in and the buildings where they housed all the ammunition and artillery. Heck, if you want you can even take your lunch where the soldiers took there lunch as they have old benches still there but beware the air is a bit musty being that the building is quite old : ) We were offered this choice as we went with a group of approx twenty people. The tour ended with a firing of a musket and canon fire! They didn't load the musket with a bullet but rather gun powder however that bugger made a heck of a noise when fired, imagine three hundred muskets going off at one time, no wonder a lot of the soldiers lost their hearing in the war. If you are looking for some history you have found it here in Fort Mifflin right near the Philadelphia International Airport. As always people SYOY!!!
