Love Conquers All is a licensed coffee house from the same folk who run nearby Penelope's Kitchen (http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz/penelopes-kitchen-salford).
Housed in a couple of shipping containers with lots of reclaimed wood inside and out and a retro cycling themed interior, it's a quirky (and much welcome) addition to the acres of paving slabs, steel and glass that is MediaCityUK.
The snug venue has plenty of comfortable seating on vintage tables and chairs, plus a log burner all set for winter.
They offer quite a varied selection of drinks, from coffees and milkshakes (more on those shortly) to bottled beers and seasonal cocktails, so it's perfect for a stop in during the day or evening.
Food-wise, there's a range of light snacks and hearty toasted sandwiches. You can also order amazing homemade short crust pies for only £5 ('Cow', 'Chick' or 'Veg City') which come with soft bread and a coffee cup of salad and balsamic vinegar.
And so to the milkshakes. Chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, PB&J or S'mores Cookie. (£3.50-£3.95). Opting for a chocolate, it arrived resembling something you'd see in a 1950s American diner, except with Curly Wurly pieces sprinkled on top. It was truly superb.
We're certainly glad we went out to explore here one lunchtime; if you can I suggest you do too.
Tip: There is also a bike hire facility available here. read more
