Allison came highly recommended by our OB. From our first conversation, she added only positive energy to the birth experience. We first met with Allison in person, and then spoke weekly just prior to our due date. Over that time, Allison helped us to start thinking about what we wanted out of a birth -- natural, to the extent possible. She helped kick our preparation into high gear. We had a long (2+ days) early labor -- and it was wonderful to have a trusted, experienced advisor to guide us. (We had great doctors, but they reasonably don't get involved quite that early.). Allison checked in frequently for status updates and to answer questions. She helped us decide when to call the doctor and go to the hospital. When it turned out that our OB was away for the weekend of our birth, it was especially reassuring to have a familiar face in the room. In the labor and delivery suite, Allison continued to bring her positive energy to the process, suggesting ways to get through contractions. She is also a skilled massage therapist -- which was especially fantastic at this point. And she was completely nonjudgmental about suggesting options for pain management along the way. After the birth of our daughter, Allison continued to check in with resources and advice. We really can't recommend her highly enough, and would be happy to talk to anyone who would like to know more.

No longer having her was a blessing in surprise as now he's in a place where he learns daily, from talking to social skills. Let's start with the caregivers, who've all been very pleasant and understanding. We especially like "Miss Meg", who knows every little child by name and recognizes their personalities and behaviors. Just the other day she was professionally reigning in a child that was being a bit of a bully, teaching some ethical behavior. All of the caregivers are polite, professional, and ready to talk with you about anything. They keep a daily log on food, naps, diapers, and what the child was up to, all to discuss with the parent at the end of the day. I've even had them gladly change my son if he's due for a new diaper right when I show up to take him home. Even better, they're going to help potty train him... oh yeah! Then we look at the facility, which is larger than it appears and full of everything for a growing mind. The toddler room has plenty of toys, including building blocks, and all the amenities of a school. An in-house kitchen is used to serve proper food, they use one of the larger areas (for older kids) to have a weekly movie afternoon, and they have plenty of outdoor play area that the children use regularly. There is also a locked front door with a security keypad, to ensure school safety. The only downside is the price, and even then it's average for the area. You can expect to pay upwards of $400/week for babies, dropping to about $300/week once they're over two and continuing to drop after that. It seems expensive, but considering you're basically putting them into pre-preschool, and you can see the value. You do have to call and make sure they have any openings, but La Petite is part of a larger chain of day cares throughout the area, so they may have other locations that might work as well. If you're in need of some place for your little one, then I can't recommend La Petite enough!

I toured at least 15 places and La Petite was the only place i didn't want to run back out of. I love the brightwheel app. I love everybody at the center. They really make it feel like a big family. My little boy is almost 2 now and still goes there. It seems like he learns something new everyday. They are constantly finding fun ways to teach the kids new things.

My son started gaining more weight and I wasn't in pain anymore so it was a huge success!! While the care was sometimes OK to decent from Star of My Heart for my Aunt over the past few years…read more(she just passed away at age 99), it was often very bad and the owner of the agency was difficult to deal with (very pushy, always trying to just show things reflecting well on herself and not things reflecting poorly on her, and did not like to listen to input from the family or friends or even my Aunt). There was tremendous turnover of the caregivers, as Star of My Heart pays its caregivers very very little (I was told by several of the caregivers that their pay was $100 per day for living in the home and working 12 hours per day with no benefits or tax withholding, a small fraction of what we paid to Star of My Heart). The final straw was the 5 pieces of missing jewelry, including two rings with gemstones and of great sentimental and financial value. I would suggest that you also look at the Maryland court records for the owner of this business (I wish I had before). Sometimes she surprises me with how much she knows, because even though my husband I teach things at home and reinforce everything from daycare, we haven't taught her nearly as much as she has learned at A+. She is always clean, always smells good, always happy and well taken care of while at daycare. The environment is safe and an amazing place for your child. Our doctors (Dr. Emarievbe (delivery) and Dr. Gardener (receiving and triaging) were OUTSTANDING. Knowledgeable, caring, and wonderful bedside manners. They made us feel at ease and we can honestly say this was the BEST hospital experience we have ever had. I can not thank our RNs enough. Especially Kelsey (receiving), Dena (delivery), and Margaret (post delivery care). These ladies deserve medals. Dena in particular cared for my family as if we were her own. She was absolutely incredible and we were so thankful to have her as our delivery RN. In addition, we also spoke to different staff members during our stay. Alexis (RN) helped us with nursing. Pediatricians stopped by just to check up on us, and two amazing staff members did my child's audio assessment and screening. I wish I took better notes on everyone's names. Five stars. All the way.
