First things first. BRING CASH FOR TIPS! Came in as a walk in for two mani pedis. We were seen about 15 min later. There were people ahead of us with actual appointments. For the regulars that came in, it seemed that they had a good relationship with the owner. They did a great job on my mani pedi. I think the artwork could use a bit more experience, but, she did her best, which is still better than me. The only thing I really disliked was that they kept asking me what my daughter wanted. She's a fourth grader and can speak for herself. They didn't really take the time to listen to what she wanted. Just came straight to me and I sent them right back to her. read more

There are several options in Dover for nail salons - and this isn't one I'll consider again. First of all the salon was HOT. No air flow. And it smelled AWFUL. I realize there is always a scent at a nail salon, but this was almost unbearable. Several of us complained about the temperature/smell but nobody got up to turn on a fan, open the door or anything. Most importantly, the pricing. It's very expensive for what you're getting. No hand massage with a manicure (which I consider to be a basic service), No calf or foot massage with the pedicure (again, a basic, expected service when getting a pedicure). The gel mani and classic polish pedi ended up at around $90. The staff was friendly - they knew my step mother - but I'm sure had I not had a family connection, I would have received even less attention/care. Next, I was asked by the older male manicurist how old I was, why I didn't have kids/wasn't married, and then after I told him my age said "oh! well you only have 3 years left!" Cool....thank you... Finally, the expensive gel manicure wasn't even applied correctly/with care and i ended up with ripply/bumpy nails. I could have done a better job at home. Never again. read more

I was in Dover today and decided to get a pedicure before heading home. First, I tried my 1st choice nail salon but there was an hour wait. This is odd for a Wednesday morning but I left & called Love Nails; they said I could come right in. I've been there before and liked the service so I had no concerns. My 1st salon choice has signs on the door (do not enter if sick, etc.), a doorbell (they have to let you in) and they check temperatures. Clearly they mean business when it comes to the health of their staff and customers. Love Nails has no precautions. There may have been a sign on the door but I didn't notice. Definitely no temperature checks. I wore a mask but not sure if it was required. After signing in and choosing from their limited selection of polish colors, an older gentleman yelled for me to come back. He had a hacking, flemmy-sounding cough and did not wear a mask. He coughed almost the entire time and I would have been concerned if I wasn't wearing a mask and vaccinated. He was really rough when handling my feet and nails. $33 is a little on the high side for a rough, no frills pedi (hot towel and lotion but no massage). At the end, he ushered me to the front to pay. I asked about drying my nails before leaving and the owner said they don't have fans anymore. I asked how my nails were supposed to dry - she said a few minutes in the sun should do it. Ok... Then she said the top coat they use dries nails quickly. I didn't want to chance ruining the polish so I left with the toe separators. I just took another good look at my feet and my heels look extremely rough, cracked and dry. I should have paid closer attention to this before leaving but I'll chalk it up to a lesson learned. TOXIC ENVIRONMENT Love nails older male employee toxic. As a mental health therapist I encourage people to get a pedi and mani to relieve stress. However my experience with an employee was so bad I had to relax afterward. I was yelled at and told I was so rude to him two months ago and I have not been to that place in two years. I left thinking I had gel and my nail messed up taking off my mask. I returned hoping someone else would see me. He saw me again insisted I asked for regular and again was rude. He was so bad that another customer let him know I had asked for gel and he was rude. I will never again go back to this place. If you go get a female. The pedicure was not done to look professional. Also, the owner(supervisor) is very rude to a particular race. I thought it was just me until the opposite race came in and she would greet them kindly. Meanwhile, a black woman who had come in before them sat and waited for her 1:30 pm appointment. My appointment was at 2:00 pm for a Mani/Pedi. The employee took me and it was only 1:40 pm. I noticed this also and did not get my nails done. So the quality of my pedicure and the treatment of certain people are the reasons I will not return to this nail shop. Therefore, I will spend my money elsewhere. I went over to the mall, got my manicure, and the shop(supervisor and employees) was so much better and the shop was just as clean. The employees had masks on also. The woman working did not greet us instead, with an attitude,she just said "We don't have time." Came in on a Tuesday, 5pm, saw 1 person waiting and 5 others getting service. I signed in and took a seat. No one said anything to me which was fine. After waiting 10 minutes I left for less than 2 minutes to get a water out of my car, returned and sat back down. The woman at first station said- "What can I help you with?" I responded that I had already signed in. She then said, "what do you want done", I replied Fill in and Pedi. She then said "It will be a wait", I asked how long and was told 15-20 minutes and I said Okay. She then stated, "I asked you two times before what you wanted and you ignored me". Maybe she spoke to me while my back was to her walking out to get water (she had on mask and was behind a plant) but not while I was inside seated. If I could give 0 stars I would. I came in as soon as they opened to get a full set and pedicure. (No appointment) The same man did my pedicure and full set, as he was doing my pedicure he was coughing uncontrollably meanwhile he didn't have a mask on. He was very heavy handed and rough with my feet and nails. When we got to my full set he asked how I wanted my nails and I showed him a picture of the exact look I wanted. He then proceeded to tell me what I was getting was "ugly" "too short" and "all of the young sexy girls get coffin nails" I told him I didn't want sharp nails, I have a baby and I don't feel comfortable with having long or sharp nails. (Even though I don't owe him an explanation) After he gave me the impression that I should get another style I showed him some other nails I was willing to get instead. One design he said would cost me double if he did it because they had 2 different colors, and the other design he declined because he couldn't do the nail art. So I told him I wanted to stick with my initial design. When he was painting my nails, he would accidentally pain my skin and scrape the paint off with his dirty fingernails. He proceeded to do my nails and was continuously pulling on my arms and smacking my hands telling me to relax. I felt so uncomfortable. When he was done with my nails I gave him a tip (regretfully) he did not say thank you, he didn't say anything. He stood by my chair waiting for me to get up and pay and when I paid he didn't tell me a total. He was very passive aggressive. Also a nice black woman came in asking if she could get a service done and the lady at the front desk let her know they were booked up until about 12:30pm. The black woman let her know she wouldn't be able to come back at that time and left. 30 minutes after she left they were talking about her saying "people get mad that they can't get service when they don't make an appointment, there are signs on the door saying appointment recommended" it was very unprofessional of them to talk about paying customers to other customers, especially me being a black woman they will never get money from me again. I got racist vibes from them and they seem very passive aggressive. read more

So this afternoon after work, I treated myself to a long overdue pedicure. I went some place new for me... The BEST pedi of my life! I was so relaxed seriously fell asleep in the chair ! And they let me stay and my toes were dry when I woke up! I sometimes see pedis as a "necessary evil", something I must occasionally endure. I want soft feet so I do them. However, while they are usually tolerable and sometimes relaxing to some degree, I have had pedis set me over the edge with anxiety. I just want to say Ly at LOVE Nails... OMG!! I asked for the Spa Pedicure, I get always get that. My feet are calloused and dry. I always like the extra moisturizing treatment in the Spa pedis. Ly asked me what I was looking for and I told him. In the years I have been getting pedis, NOone has EVER asked WHAT exactly I wanted. Ly asked if I wanted the chair to massage, which I appreciate. Instead of assuming. Sometimes it is relaxing, sometimes it sets me over the edge. Ly really did a great job on my feet and a wonderful massage on my calves. The chair did a wonderful job on my neck and back. I literally fell asleep! They let me sleep! They weren't super busy in the pedi area so instead of waking me to move to the dryer, he just let me doze. I slept long enough for my toes to dry. When I woke and paid, I used my card, I could not tip on my card and I don't carry cash. He did not say a word that I did not tip him. I went to the store, and came back to tip and everyone asked if I enjoyed my nap. They were teasing me in fun. I have found my new pedi HOME! read more

I guess i would say that they are courteous people and are sincere and dedicated to what they do. But my girlfriend had a bad experience with getting her toenails done. Not that they looked bad, but when she finally removed the polish, she found that her toenails got messed up with the polish they had put on. She loves her feet, so she is freaking out right now about what they did to her toenails. I know it was not intentional, but we are going to pursue other options for manicures and pedicures. read more

Walked in to the salon for a pedicure. I needed gel removed from my toes before the pedi. When I walked in it seemed as though I was a bother. The technician that worked with me did not remove all of the gel from my toes and was so quick with the entire pedicure. She literally spent five minutes on each foot cleaning up my nails. Afterward I can still feel left over gel and they are not even smooth. I have had this color placed before and it's a difficult pink to place.....but it was slapped onto my feet in a messy Manor. The whole staff seemed like they couldn't be bothered to be at work. And my tech literally yawned 15 times while working on me. I will not be returning and I would not recommend. I know I'm not a regular customer there but I get my toes done every two weeks. I know how it should be done. I will deal with this sloppy pedicure until next Friday when Im back with my regular salon!! read more

I got a gel fill, came out good. Even though I got right in, they could probably use more techs so go early. Also, maybe a few more gel color options. Would NOT recommend!!! From the moment I walked in to this salon the atmosphere was very tense. The nail technician barked at me to come sit down and wouldn't allow me to pick the colors I wanted beforehand. I showed him a picture of what I wanted done, then he started. I got an acrylic full set with gel polish (coffin shaped). He stopped in the middle of doing my nails to take a phone call. He would grab my arm and twist it the way he wanted it to be positioned instead of politely asking me to move it myself. For some reason he felt that I was to far away from the table even though I was practically leaning against the plastic wall that separated us, and for this reason every few minutes he kept telling me to move closer. At the end he asked me what color I wanted, so I showed him the picture again (i wanted five colors , one on each nail) and since I hadn't been able to pick out the colors before I started he became incredibly annoyed. He was tapping his foot against the floor and rolling his eyes. Then out of no where he says ohh well since you want more than one color they'll be an up charge for that! I immediately became annoyed and mentioned that I had showed him the picture from the beginning and had not been told it would cost more. I knew they're was an up charge for the coffin shape but how was I suppose to know that even though it was just solid colors (no designs) that I would have to pay more??! Oh after I showed my disbelief he started yelling across the salon in his native language and he was clearly very mad. He finally finished my nails glaring at me and didn't say another word. As soon as he finished he got up and stormed away. All of the customers in the salon were on his side whispering and being incredibly rude while I was walking out, but that's okay because in the end I got what I wanted & that's all that matters read more

this 1st photo is of my nails today. Not even 24 hours after when i got them done. Chipped. The 2nd photo is when i went in on saturday 2 days ago. Chipped again. I am completely unhappy with this service here, wasting my time and my money because of course they charged me the 2nd time to fix it after trying to convince me to get a gel manicure. i got a gel manicure from this place one time a few months ago and it was a mediocre job which is why i decided to get the regular polish. AND they still managed to mess that up. I am not the type of person who walks around with chipped nail polish. It is a serious pet peeve of mine. I realized while at the shop yesterday that while trying to pick out another color that the majority of the nail polish was watered down. I promise you if you shake the bottle you can hear how thin the liquid inside is and if you open the bottle you can see the polish looks like water paint. and we all know that fresh nail polish is thick in the bottle. So what are the adding to the nail polish bottles. I was going to write this complaint yesterday but i decided to see if the nail polish would last a week like the technician said it would. WRONG, one day later. Now i will have to spend more time taking this off myself because i will never go back there again. I seen a lot of college students there and it sucks because I'm sure they get most of their business out of convenience and the girls not having cars and the shop being directly across the street. I was referred here by my coworker who swore they would be the best, and the place is really nice don't get me wrong, it looks very clean BUT they must use a cheap kind of gel because 4 days later my gel started to peel off. So I PAID to get my nails fixed because I do work with my hands a lot, I'm a server. But here it is 4 days later AGAIN they are peeling off. I pay for gel because I want my nails to last! I came in five minutes late and apologized for the inconvenience and they told me I had to wait. I was fine with that of course, bc I was the one who came late. However, I ended up waiting for over an hour After however long a woman finally sat me down and her mask was under her nose the whole time. She did my nails and ended up cutting my cuticle so far down on my pointer finger I bled. After we were done I realized that almost all of my nails were crooked and uneven and three of them were lumpy. I had to come back in the next day to have it fixed and afterward they looked a whole lot better but two nails were still crooked. I soaked the acrylics off today (a week and a half later) bc one broke. My nails are extremely brittle bc of how far down they shaved my nail to the point that it's painful. Idk what happened to the quality if this place bc I've had good experiences here before, but I won't be coming back. read more

My coworker, her sister and I went in about a week ago! We asked for 3 manicures and 3 pedicures they told us a 30 minute wait so we waited.. they called for 2 of us to go on back to do our manicures.. I got this gentleman who was RUDE as hell and making rude comments the whole time. He asked if i was married as he saw my ring and when I said yes he was let well that must be hell.. uh Ohkay, he did a horrible job on my nails as he didn't even clean them up around the edges and there is bubbles and hairs from the nail polish brush in my nails.. to end my manicure experience there he did not even massage my hands in the end and neither did the young lady that did my coworkers manicure. The total cost for a shitty manicure and pedicure was 80$ a person.. a week has gone by a my nails polish on my nails are peeling and chipping.. I'm sorry but I get my nails done with gel polish ALL the time and I know for a fact that it doesn't start chipping/peeling within a week. Horrible service and horrible job. I wouldn't even recommend this place to my worst enemy.... read more
