This relates to Urgent Care only. Our PCP Dr Katherine Pickett is superb and we've had surgeries and Physical Therapy that have been top-notch. Furthermore, our care at the Urgent Care once we get in is excellent. However, Lovelace's urgent care scheduling. leaves a lot to be desired. the scheduling really sucks and needs improvement. My husband twisted his ankle on the day before Christmas Eve. The online scheduling at Independence Square showed they were open Christmas Eve, so he scheduled an appt. The system confirmed the appointment, emails were sent to confirm the appt. We showed up and of course, they were closed. Then why did they book the appointment? He waited and went after Christmas. He got hit with a "no show" notice for not showing up on Christmas Eve. read more

I give Lovelace Medical Group one star. If you are looking for medical or primary care, this is not the place to go. I went to them for a primary care doctor and they only have nurse practitioners. I started seeing them in March 2026. I had four visits with a nurse practitioner. At the time of each visit, I was not charged a co-pay because my insurance does not require me to pay a co-pay for primary care. In June I started receiving threating letters saying this is my final notice. My account is seriously past due. Unless payment in full is received by due date, my account will be referred to a collection agency and may be reported to one or more national credit reporting agencies. I called their billing department to resolve the problem. Their billing department did not even try to help. They said it was the insurance problem and nothing they could do. I called them tree times, and they refused to check to see why I was being charged. Each time they said it was the insurance company and there was nothing they could do. I have been fighting this for three months. I cancel all future appointments with Lovelace Medical Group because they were causing me more harm and stress instead of helping me stay healthy. During the three months I have been fighting them with my insurance company, I found out they are charging me as if the nurse practitioner is some kind of specialist. The medical office I was going to said they do not show me owning anything and that the nurse practitioner is primary care. I am not sure if Lovelace Medical Group is incompetent or if they are intentionally ripping people off. I am never going back to them, and I recommend that anyone looking for primary care or any other medical not go to Lovelace Medical Group. I have excellent credit. Lovelace Medical Group has caused me so much stress and anxiety threating to ruin my credit and not trying to solve the issue. Their only solution is for me to pay the money they are extorting from me. I thought finding medical groups through my insurance with a company in network would be safe. I was wrong. You need to check not just to see if they are in network but to see if they are a good and legitimate company. Read reviews of patients and former patients. Lovelace Medical Group is a scam targeting senior citizens because they are more vulnerable. They have harmed me more than they have helped me. read more

Older lady with glasses and dark hair she kind of has a lazy eye on her right one (just for description) was extremely rude she was saying my symptoms loudly when others were there and said they didn't have a lab and couldn't test me which is a lie I've had an older friend who worked there tell me that they have a lab also I've been there before and they tested me. If you enjoy a runaround and have enough gas in your car, do visit Lovelace. I was experiencing a very painful eye infection on a Sunday (how I wish it were Monday when my excellent PCP was available). I first went to the Lovelace Urgent Care at Sara and 528. The receptionist stated that they do not take walk-ins (but isn't that the nature of urgent care?) and there was no provider at their facility anyway (huh?) and therefore only took "virtual" visits. I was uncomfortable with that since I felt this was a problem that would be better diagnosed in person. She said that another one of their urgent care offices did have a provider on duty. So I located the other Lovelace facility (Lovelace Urgent Care - Enchanted Hills), drove there, and again was told that they do not take walk ins, only appointments. Next appointment was 2.5 hours away. But they said that their other facility (the one I had just come from) had a virtual visit appointment available in 20 minutes . Fine, I decided, and called them. The receptionist there told me that, no, their next virtual visit was, in fact, 2.5 hours from then. So I returned to the receptionist at the second facility and she said, "Oh, yeah. Right." No other explanation. So I figured my best option was the live visit 2.5 hours from then. I drove home, did some homeopathic stuff for my eye (warm cloth) and came back at the scheduled time. I checked in and waited (I'm sure you've already guessed this)... Yup, you need an appointment in order to sit in a waiting room and wait for care at Lovelace Urgent Care. After a long time while my eye continued to burn, drip infectious fluid, and turn redder by the moment I was finally led to an exam room. Oh, good, I felt. Soon my diseased eye will be examined by a thoughtful, caring, medical provider (trying to be optimistic, here). After waiting another long stretch of time (so what are the appointments for, again?) a very brusk, seemingly uncaring person in a white coat entered the room (physician...NP...PA?...don't know...no introduction was offered), spent as brief a time with me as possible, and yes, finally wrote me a prescription. I was, and am, thankful for the medication but saddened that so little genuine care is spent by providers and staff regarding the needs of patients who come to Lovelace for help with conditions that are both painful and worrying. went to lovelace urgent care in bernalillo for a minor issue. paid $50 co-pay. was there maybe 15 minutes. a month later received a bill for $166. called insurance company and was told to disregard bill and that it was a mistake on lovelace side. do not go to this urgent care, worst service ever!!! read more

if you need sleep medicine you'd better plan on taking the whole day to maybe get seen before they close. that is after months of waiting. Lovelace/Ardent must be doing something wrong to not be able to see patients in a prudent and timely manner. I don't have all day to sit and wait for a 9 am appointment. Don't bother making an appointment at Lovelace urgent care on menaul I had a 1:45 appointment it is now 2:20 they just called me back and tech said there are 3 people ahead of me. So I will probably be here for at least another hour. Someone could have called and advised me of the delay or when I checked in at 1:30. Everyone is nice here just no communication for someone that made an appointment and is in extreme pain and face is swollen up 3 time bigger or more. If I could give 6 stars I would. Albuquerque you have no idea coming from California how difficult it is to find a really great provider and care system. It's been over a year since I started the search for a great doc and care system. Started with optum formerly Davita (known on the ID channel for their killer nurse). I was so upset with that care and with our daughter moving in with us put myself on back burner. Decided that it's best to go with one of the "big 3" here. Got a fabulous primary at a more southern office and today had just a super experience with the PA Promise Goldwyn Rubio. She has a wonderful bedside manner and took a lot of time going over my upcoming gallbladder surgery. And was just nice. Also the front office staff and the scheduler were really great. When you don't feel like you have competent healthcare especially with covid it's very very scary. I truly feel these folks will give me the care I need. I am just so grateful for them. read more

had an appointment scheduled 10 months ago as a new patient. Lovelace confirmed the appointment 2 days ago after I completed the MyChart sign in process. The office just called to tell me that she's leaving and cancelled my appointment. No apology or offer to find another doctor. Lovelace does not accept new patients! Stay far, far away from Lovelace. The physician I had was great at their job. However, they also told me that my bill would be covered by insurance when I asked (multiple times). I agreed to care that I wouldn't have agreed to if I had not been told this and then received a big bill. I contacted the provider multiple times and they told me they would look into it and get back to me. I never received any call backs or emails until I received a letter saying I will be sent to collections if I don't pay. I'd recommend finding a more honest healthcare provider. read more

After several failed procedures & tests, sending me for tests w/the threat of "if you don't do this you can't see the provider, cancelled appointments w/no texts or call, bad information to precede w/tests, the phone person hung up on me. Today I went in with a messed up knee from the gym, nurse practitioner Lynn Padilla was nothing but AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Not only did she provide amazing care, and be sweet and nice ! She helped me get into the car with all 4 of my kids. I'm in a large knee brace and on crutches now and she helped me. She helped me buckle 3/4 of my babies because my fourth could it himself. She didn't have to do that. As single mom some people seem to treat us as an inconvenience or burden or look down on us as we do it all alone. NOT HER ! She's amazing! She cares she genuinely cares!! From one mom to another, thank you! Seriously thank you. I've thought about it since I left ! Thank you! Your amazing! The whole staff was great but she was amazing!! Dr. Helen Iams is absolute disgrace to healthcare system. She is rude, disrespectful and inconsiderate. She gave me worst medical experience in my 8 years in Albuquerque. Also she billed me incorrectly. I submitted a dispute against my bill. Lovelace sent my bill to collection while my dispute was under review. I have seen a lot of doctors over the years but nothing compares to Dr. Helen Iams she is by far the worse! Dr Iams needs to find another profession, and she calls herself a doctor, she's very rude, inconsiderate and above all heartless!!! This time I had Sierra and not only was she adorable but this young lady drew blood from a vein I never knew I had. I mean it was effortless! I am still in awe. What was crazy is that she used a different arm and spot and I didn't even realize she stuck the needle in. Can you believe that? Like... I did not even realize. You can see from my other review that my veins are temperamental so if I brag on an individual phlebotomist that means... run to them in your sneakers!!! Amazing and I am in awe. I have been trying to get in to the endocrinology practice for about 4 months now. My initial appointment with Dr. E (who I was referred to) was changed to an appointment with an NP. The NP cancelled my appointments two times over a two month period. This left me without important medications for almost two months. The last cancellation, today, happened as I was waiting for the care provider to join our scheduled video session. I am going to give them one last try, but I have little faith in their practice. They do not seem very patient focused. read more

I have waited for 5-6 months for my first patient appointment. The appt was to be June 21st, and I got an email this week asking me to confirm and complete registration info on the portal. Then after the office closed, Friday after 5:00, a voicemail is left cancelling my appointment because the Dr, is leaving their practice in July. It says I can call to make an appointment with another provider. (another 6 month wait? They don't feel obligated to offer me something?) Trying for 2 days to make appointment. No one will pick up and system music cuts in and out so after 20 minutes you just assume it doesn't work. Try to make appointment online and asks for numbers on the member card that are not there so it won't let you make an appointment and throws you out. Insurance is Medicare A and B with Aetna RX and CIGNA SUPLEMENT PLAN N. Cigna card is the problem. Not answering the phone is the problem of Lovelace Medical Group as well as their bad for the poor website setup. Get rid of the robots and pay people to help us!! read more

This place is so scary on so many levels. Never in my 6 decades have I come across such disregard for humans, in a health care setting. Not to mention, giving me diagnosis that were not explained, tampering with what my issue was, like saying I had neck pain when I did not, etc, not answering mychart emails, changing a diagnosis without consulting, leaving me out to dry with no pain meds ( ibuprofen type stuff). I am used to professionalism not young people who work there being... what? Dismissive, gossipy, small. the list is long. I ended up getting a massage and literally running back to UNM whimpering. I fired the doctor. - completely lacking In empathy, communication. Honestly, I have worked all over the world and the hospital in Sierra Leone, having just been bombed out was better than this place. read more

I went to the ER on October 17th due to a fall on October 8th. I was suppose to schedule an aftercare visit with my Primary doctor and also an MRI. I was unable to schedule a follow-up ER visit with my primary doctor because they are fully book until the New Year now. He suggested (by message in My Chart) that I schedule an appointment with any open doctor, but no doctors have any open appointments. This is outrageous! How can I receive after care for a fall or serious illness with no appointments available. On October 30th , I was told the front desk at Jefferson would call me back, I am still waiting for that call it is now November 7th. Since I had concern I decided to try your Urgent care at Jefferson on October 31st, they were good but had no clear answer for my concerns. They schedule a follow-up with Podiatry, which I have not received a call from yet. Also they prescribe some antibiotics which was suppose to be picked up at Walgreens, but Walgreens never receive the prescription. I attempted to contact EC by phone but your phone system doesn't allow patient calls to front desks. So I had to relay a message about my missing prescription to another person, who said the messages would show up in My Chart. Well they did not show in my chart, so I called back and was told it was a My Chart issue and to contact My Chart helpdesk. Which I did (why I do not understand), They were vary nice but had no answer as to why this type of messages would not show in My Chart. I then message my primary doctor again as follows "That was a waste of time, they will not connect to the front desk, just send them a message which apparently is not workinng for urgent care because they do not show up in my chart and my chart helpdesk which they sent me to says they are apparently not entering the messages correctly. So never mind I will just stop by urgent care again in the morning after my night shift directly to get some answers from someone." My primary was nice enough to contact the EC desk and have them call me and inform me that the prescription was entered incorrectly and now it was sent to Walgreens. I feel that this type of care is unreasonable, to go to an ER and then not be able to schedule a follow-up appointment with your primary is outrageous. It seems all you care about is filling every available appointment slot so you can treat us like cattle going to slaughter, so you make you money. What ever happen to caring about each patient and having a primary doctor available when you need them and not 6 months later? read more

This review is not solely for Lovelace Medical Group. It is for a doctor there by the name of Brian Naizer. I booked an appointment for him in July of 2022. It was made for about 8 months out, and the appointment date was March 13, for 9:45 am. When I called for an appointment the receptionist said that he was taking new patients. He was going to be my new primary doctor since my original doctor retired. Got another doctor and he left that office after 2 visits with him. Anyway, I showed up for my appointment after 8 months of waiting, and guess what happened! I am not listed as having an appointment. To my shock they kicked me to the curb. This doctor was seeing too many new patients, and the receptionist was over booking him. Mind you I also drove 35 miles one-way to see him. I was given the choice to book another appointment for November of 2023. I was so angry, and they think I was going to do this and wait another 8 months to be seen by this doctor. So, the receptionist tried to find another solution. I was given this choice! See a new doctor as my primary at 3:30 pm. That now leaves me sitting in their lobby for 5 1/2 hours or killing some time elsewhere. What a lousy choice I had! I had planned on doing the doctor visit and going straight back home to do other things. Now I have to do those things tomorrow. This doctor is the worst EVER. They said they called and left a voice mail, but there was no such thing done. No written letter of cancellation. Nothing! Just me standing there in complete and utter shock, and so angry with the choices I was given! read more

I have been with Lovelace Medical Group since my cardiologist joined a few years back. I now have my primary care provider and my orthopedic surgeon with Lovelace also. I have excellent communication as they have an online site that the patient and all providers can view test results and visit notes. I communicate via email, which is convenient for doctors and patients. After surgery, I also am using outpatient physical therapy, and cannot be more happy with the staff and my progress. read more

My experience with this particular location was very awful, even pre Covid. I started off seeing LPN Kimberly Bynum, she was nice, but every month I had to fight to get my medications refilled. When she left this location, I was never notified that I no longer had a provider. So when I called in numerous times about my medications, I was informed that she was no longer with this location. I was transferred to LPN Debra Narcisse. This has been an even worse experience. She started cutting medications that I have taken for years and need to be able to function, without ever telling me what she was doing. Same problem every month getting my prescriptions refilled, often ran out and began horrible withdrawal symptoms. I messaged her asking if we could meet monthly, I asked this on more than one occasion and never received a response from her or anyone. I would not recommend Narcisse as a health care provider. I believe what she has done is unethical. I have changed to a different health care system but I will run out of my essential medications before I am able to be seen by my new doctor. I am in contact with medical malpractice attorneys to see if I have grounds for legal action. If you want to receive prompt care and on time medication refills. Do not see Narcisse. Two bad experiences at this location. I don't think I would go there again. read more

Dr Ereifej called me 10/31/2019 Promised to put in orders for treatment, then 8 days later refers me to a Doctor she knows I can not see rather than follow through! This Facility will give my PHI to My Insurance but not me! HIPAA Violations. Does nothing with referrals but set up just to call later to cancel. Save Yourselves and find other Doctors!Remember! You too can file against them with State Attorney General and State Health Department, Doctors would be Board of Medical Examiners and nurses would be State Board of Nursing! read more
