What can I say about PGH?…read more I was in a car wreck and went to PGH emergency room and (unfortunately) Dr Vacek was my ER doctor Turns out I broke my back and I am temporarily disabled Days later I asked Vacek to fill out a simple form stating what date I was in the ER and the extent of my injuries ETC, so that I might file for disability until I can go back to work (it would have taken less than 10 mins) Well Dr Douglas Vacek couldn't be bothered with that, so thanks to this guy I am disabled, and cannot file for disability even though I am paid into and am eligible for disability Hey Butthead Let me explain how the system is supposed to work.... I work for the last 30 years of my life and I pay into disability, then when I get disabled you fill out a simple form so that I get paid, then I pay my insurance, and then you get paid The bill from the ER visit is somewhere in the area of $10,000 and my insurance will probably pay all of it, but if not I can promise you this, PGH won't get another dime out of me for anything EVER Anyways, I have since enrolled in an air medivac program so I can avoid PGH at all costs My family has been instructed to take me to Reno next time to a real hospital that has real doctors Take my advise, no matter what problem you are having you would be better off driving for hours to get to a real facility I could sit here and write bad Things about this hospital all day This is not the only issue I have dealt with (misdiagnosis, bad referrals and incorrect billing) and not to mention the issues my wife has had with bad referrals as well I have been to real hospitals and dealt with real doctors and real administrators so I know what that is like This place is a cluster of incompetence Hey Doug, it shouldn't be hard for you to figure out who I am, you have my number Give me a call and I'll explain how much of a dick you really are Piece of advise, its not cool to mess with a mans money especially when he is down You are effectively taking food out of my family's mouths and I'll keep that with me for a long long time

I am a first time mom, who else am I supposed to turn to when the only women's clinic in a 100+ mile radius doesn't answer their phones? To give false information to a patient then call day of appointment to inform them they'll be needing to pay nearly 100$ more than what they were originally were quoted is unacceptable. They told her she was just sick and I asked if she needed medicine and they said needed no medication. Overall the service is just bad! They also don't get very concerned when you have a serious problem and have had it for over a year and they act like they couldn't care less, then after being told about it they tell you to come back in 3 months and they will talk about it again. The doctors there appear to have graduated at the bottom of the their class! They don't appear to care at all, no one in that office does. The front office acts like you're bothering them!! I've heard this from several people, many have quit going there and found real doctors that actually do their jobs. Nothing like having your doctor come in and slouching over his chair and counter acting like what's wromg with you is nothing for him to be concerned about. You ask for treatment and he tells you nah, wait a few weeks and see what happens, take some tylonal. Gee thanks doc wish I would have thought of that!!! Give me a break. I had checked in on line which saved me about 15 minutes. Paid my co-pay, waited about 15 minutes and was called into a room. Vitals done, check then a brief wait for my " New Primary"! She was friendly and extremely thorough, we spent an hour going over my medical history and I got some orders for routine bloodwork and a bone scan which I've never had. I'm happy to have Shannon as my new PCP and asked her to please not leave! ( She said she wasn't planning on it!).

I've booked an appointment online ahead of time and have had great success with getting an appointment in a shortened booking window, aka the day before or morning of. The first appointment was after Thanksgiving 2023. Staff was super efficient and seemed to care. Sometimes during the holiday season, I've encountered gruff employees who are just over the season. But not here. Staff took their time and focused as if I was the only patient in the building. I was in and out with my appointment in record time. My second appointment was right after new years, or so I thought. I don't think I completed the appointment booking process, but staff was super kind and got me in as a walk in. She told me there were two ahead of me, so I hunkered down thinking I'd be waiting for an hour or so. Nope, 15 minutes and I was back being seen. It seemed that one lady was being trained by a guy, so my only critique would be that I was told she was training because I was certainly confused why I had two nurse people this time and only one the last time. The Nurse Practioners/Doctors I saw each time were very caring and thorough with their diagnosis/prognosis/aftercare. Would Definitely recommend this location.

Unfortunately, he had to fill out all the paperwork before even being seen by the provider..and he couldn't access his medications. To me ( the minus one star) because with my provider, the technology of Epic (My Chart).. makes me a loyal patient.. and all the info would be right there.. I ran over to Safeway to get a list of his meds. Ran back, and the staff let me back in to barge in on his appt.. Dr. Has good bedside manners, and seemed to be attentive to the conversation. She was even proactive on sending a referral for a specialist for his vericose veins.. Glad he has resources available and nearby.

My mouth dropped, I felt overwhelmed.I had taken the whole day off of work. I had also had some medical issues.I was dealing with that.I was putting off. The lack of compassion, understanding it was disgusting. I have two insurances.I work very hard to take care of myself.Thank god. I just think, what if it was somebody who had a serious medical condition?They had waited all that time.And got turned away because of a ten minute delay.
