This place should come with a warning label. I went on Saturday June 1 to have a lash tint and lift done and the result was lashes that curled up under my eyelid and others that were burnt beyond tarnation. It was my first time, so I figured the horrible curl would at least relax itself, but alas it most certainly did not. I went to another salon where they were aghast at my lashes. The lash expert told me they were overprocessed and the girl at Lovely had used the wrong sized rod for shaping. She said they couldn't do another treatment so soon, but because of how awful it looked, she said we could try lash extensions. Never had them before, never wanted them, now I have no choice because the under-the-eyelid curling was actually painful. I ended up going to the repair salon twice in two days and spent four hours to get my lashes just to look normal. I called Lovely and asked to speak to the manager, but I was told she wasn't there. She took the message and said she'd have her call me the next day. That day passes, I call back and again ask to speak to the manager and I'm told she, again, is not there. I explain I want my money back, I've spent hundreds now and hours of my life I'll never get back. Second receptionist ASSURES my i'd get a return call in the morning, "she would personally see to it because she works the same hours as the manager." Never happened. Do not call upon this place. They provide amateur services, lousy quality, and are obviously managed by someone who doesn't know what accountability is. So - I'm kind of low-key mad that I have lived in this area for 10 years and only visited Lovely YESTERDAY. This was the best salon/spa experience I've ever had, anywhere. It really started with the online booking system which is well designed and easy to use. The only downside is that they are popular, so you have to be flexible with finding a time. However, it's totally worth it. On arrival, I was greeted at the door. I received a small gift with a sample of expensive skin care and a small treat as well as a thank you card. They had a cute little welcome board with the names of all the new clients. Little small touches that just go above and beyond, sends a signal that these folks care about delivering a high-quality experience. I was just in for a haircut. What I got was multiple rounds of scalp massage, a wash that includes the comfiest chair I've ever sat in (you basically get to lay on a comfy bed while they wash your hair), my choice of aromatherapy (bergamot), warm towel, basically the best hair wash I've ever had. Katie, my stylist, listened to what. wanted, recommended, but did not urge or upsell products, cut and styled my neglected hair efficiently, and had the perfect balance of chat and quiet time. I was so impressed that I went home and booked my next appointment in advance, which I have literally never done before. The experience was that good. read more

Cameron took my appointment last minute (my usual at a different salon canceled and I was desperate) I haven't been back in years because I wasn't really happy about the service/cut I had before. I wanted to love this place because it's close to home and encourages a spa/relaxing environment regardless of the service you are there to receive. The reason this salon isn't getting 1 star is because Katie did a great job with my daughters curly hair. The stars deducted are due to my last cut by Hailee. I have had 4 cuts there over the past year. The first 3 were trims to a bob. My most recent cut was bob to pixie. I had a pixie for years prior to the covid grow out. I asked that Hailee not use clippers in the back, she said she wanted to work smarter not harder. It didn't feel smarter just faster. My hair cut was choppy, you can see straight lines on the side of my head, and cut way too short not on one side too far towards middle causing hairs to basically just stick out. It was definitely one of the worst pixie cuts I've ever had and I really feel like it was because she was rushing and quite frankly a bit cocky. read more

Lovely's new location (about 2 miles south on KK from the original space) is delightful. They took a shuttered townie bar/grill and had the vision to turn it into a gorgeous salon/spa. The interior renovations are really well done - there's tons of windows and natural light, cute mason jar light fixtures and a restful shampoo room. Another bonus is ample street and off-street parking. (FYI park on the street if it's wet as the lot isn't yet paved and can be a bit mucky) Upstairs is the spa space with dedicated rooms for skincare, massage and nails. While the space is new, many things haven't changed - the staff is unfailingly friendly and services include little "extras" like hand massages and hot towels. I pay about the same for my cut/color here as I did at my last place but my results are 100% better. That's because I have the Greatest Stylist Ever - Kate (many thanks to RFelly for recommending her). When I started coming to Lovely almost 3 years ago, I had bounced around from salon to salon. At some places my cut would be great for a week and then grow out wonky. At others, my color would be uneven or fade too fast. No longer - I swear that Kate has some magical abilities - like maybe she can communicate telepathically with my hair? I don't know - but I regularly get unsolicited compliments from random peeps on my hair. My color doesn't fade, and it grows out perfectly. So if people on the street aren't like "girl, your hair is great!" - then you should probably make an appointment with Kate. read more

I visited for the first time this week and was completely wow'ed by my visit. COVID safety was top notch, you even call from your car, but once you get inside the experience is just fantastic. I just had a routine haircut this visit. The appointments are relaxed, multiple scalp massages and calming breaths with essential oils.... in addition to my haircut! I was asked multiple times if I needed a drink refill (on my wine!) and they made me feel welcome. Also love the use of all of the Aveda products. Can't wait for my next visit. read more

I switched from Neroli which happens to be right behind where I live. The customer service at Neroli has gone so far down hill. Losing clients and staff. Switched to Lovely, which is couple miles away. So glad I did. Sam is such a miracle worker for my problem hair. Cowlick and hair falls forward, sides have to be longer to cover-up hearing aids. The new Lovely is so dang lovely, you guys. (Yes, that's too easy a lead-in, but cut me some slack... it's Monday morning post-Yelp's On a Boat party, so I've been a little slow to get moving.) Everything that was rad is still rad, everyone that was awesome is still awesome. Kate is still the best and will talk to you about serious or funny or anything in-between things while she expertly snips at your tresses. The Aveda products are still my jam. The space, however, is larger and just nicer in general. I've been a dedicated Lovely client for years - and this new space does NOT disappoint. Though Addie is my go-to gal, I know many friends who frequent the salon for a variety of services and none of them have ever been disappointed. This is a place I'm more than happy to recommend over and over again. As Joanna T mentioned, lots of windows give the place a homey and relaxing feel. (If my house was sweet spa, that is). I really appreciated the side lot for my car...last thing you want to do when you're going to get pampered is fight for a spot. Each area has it's own space now...massage, nails, shampoo, hair, etc. I really enjoyed sipping my tea and gazing out the window while my foils were sitting. I've been a customer at Lovely for over 3 years and have referred numerous people there as well and I'm extremely disappointed in the way they treat their loyal clients. I went online and canceled my appointment on their online booking system and learned it wasn't cancelled on their end as they sent me a text message letting me know I was being charged half the price because I didn't show for my appointment. I called and asked to speak to the manager and proceeded to tell there was nothing that could be done. I was disappointed that this charge couldn't be waived as it was an error abs I've been a loyal client for years. This isn't how you retain clients. This salon is not Lovely! The first visit I was overcharged and confronted receptionist she gave me cash back. I went home with wet hair because they were closing. Second visit went in for highlights. My appointment was at 9 am I left salon at 2:20. Yes 5 hours!!!! The back of my shirt,the top of my pants were soaked from my shampoo. Was told to take a nap while she worked on other customer. Was told I wouldn't be charged for gloss and was charged. Over priced and the service sucked. Would not recommend!!!!! I went to Lovely Salon when it was in Bay View but wasn't totally in love with the person who cut my hair so I ended up going elsewhere. Fast forward a while and I made an appointment when they moved to St Francis to give them another try. I requested a stylist who knew how to work with thick hair (because I have been told I have a lot of hair by multiple hair stylists over the years) and someone who was good at giving short haircuts. I was scheduled with Karin. Let's just say, she was fantastic! I brought in pictures of what I wanted and she did exactly what I asked for....making my hair look good in a very short bob. For once in my life, I am in love with my hair stylist because she is amazing. I go back every 6-8 weeks to get a trim and get top notch service. Mom loves it, Fiance loves it. They see Donna. Very nice place. Only negative is I'd like a couple more chairs for people like me just waiting. If a woman comes in and needs to wait, I give up the chair and kind of stand there like a big oaf. I can't wait for mom outside or go elsewhere, she is in a wheel chair so I don't want her waiting for me when she is finished. There is a good handicap ramp in the rear. I'd just like a paved path directly from the parking lot to it. Going all the way around the building on the pothole filled sidewalk sucks. Lot isn't paved either. I know this is expensive and out of their control. The landlord/property owner should step it up. read more

I had heard about this place from a friend, and stopped in without an appointment while I was in the neighborhood. I was happy to find out they had an appointment within a half hour and was offered a cup of their house tea, a licorice and peppermint herbal blend, to enjoy while I waited for my stylist Brad to finish up with his prior appointment. The space is perfect - well thought out and spacious but with the character and warmth of hardwood floors and beautifully ornate ceiling tiles and woodwork. The charm of the building helps to soften the hard lines of the salon equipment and really make for a soothing environment. I enjoyed my appointment with Brad. He gave me a great cut and offered some very useful suggestions for how to style my hair. My bill was $60 for just about an hour - including a scalp massage, neck and shoulder massage, shampoo, deep herbal moisture treatment (my hair is so silky!), conditioner, cut, styling, and product consultation. I'd recommend Lovely if you're looking for more than just a haircut and want to treat yourself to a relaxing and enjoyable salon experience. read more

Very cute salon. I had Suzy, and she made me feel so comfortable and understood what I wanted. They give you head massages and put a warm towel over your face when they wash your hair. They offer you a beverage when you first get there (water, tea, wine). I thought $50 was a bit much, but then again I felt so relaxed. Not all hair dressers charge the same amount. I'm so happy to have found Lovely. I started getting my haircut with Shannon over a year ago and now have become a regular for multiple spa services. The staff is so friendly and knowledgable. They offer coffee, water, tea, wine, and I noticed beer the last time I was there too. Amee does a great job of making you feel relaxed while she tears hair from your skin and the results never disappoint. Laura makes my feet feel so smooth and the polish lasts until my nails grow out. Shannon listens to what I'm looking for and I get so many compliments after she has trimmed my locks. The salon has a parking lot next to it and plenty of street parking. They relocated to a beautiful old house and I love the feeling that the inside has. It's a very calming space. I just realized that I have nothing bad to say about Lovely. If you're looking for a place to treat yourself this is definitely where you should go. I don't find it to be super expensive...you're paying for the quality and the experts that work there. Time and time again I rave to friends and family that Lovely delivers consistent quality and service, and I finally need to recognize the staff in writing for their excellence in service. First off, I've been going to Emily for over a year, and she is simply the best. I know she makes every client feel as they are a friend. She is the definition of a "breath of fresh air" and my hair has never looked better. Side note future brides---She loves to do special occasion, and I was lucky to have her transform me into my vision of a beautiful bride at my recent wedding. I was also able to have Amee do my wedding makeup and was astounded-- she creates a flawless, but natural look. The little touches that this salon offers to make every client feel like a princess- hand massages from the stylists, or if you're lucky, Carrie the masseuse when she has a few minutes to spare (she's really good, folks). My appointment was at 6:30 but my stylist, Shannon, got done with a client ahead of schedule and called to let me know I could come in whenever I was ready. I'd never visited their previous location in Bay View 1, but I can't imagine it was more inviting than their current space in St. Francis. The salon is beautiful, spacious, relaxing and clean. This Aveda concept salon is so warm and welcoming I kind of hope my stylist is running behind so I can stay longer and enjoy the relaxation. Just had the best haircut and blowout of my life from Sarah at Lovely. I made a last-minute appointment on their fabulous online portal as I was long over-due for a trim. The online booking system was easy! I like how I could see the prices and find out about each stylist available. I arrived and was very warmly greeted by two staff members. The receptionist took my coat and offered me a beverage--Aveda tea, please! :-) I sat in the waiting area and was soon greeted by my stylist, Sarah. She took me to her chair and did a full examination of my hair. I immediately noticed how knowledgeable and perceptive she was. I told her what I was looking for and what I liked and didn't about my hair. She told me what she was going to do and we got started. She gave me a fabulous shoulder and neck massage then we went to the relaxation shampoo room, where the pampering continued! If you're looking for ultimate pampering and feeling amazing, this is the place. We went back to her chair and she began the cut. She was so technical, I appreciated her explanation of each step! Then the most amazing blow out to finish out my service. She explained how she did each section so I could try it at home. I am always wondering how the girls at Drybar blow my hair so beautifully and Sarah finally explained it to me! My hair turned out GORGEOUS. I am thrilled.
