I remembered Jackie as being incredibly friendly and talented, but since she wasn't taking new clients, was referred to Alexis. Alexis is fantastic. Easy to talk to and she gave me just the haircut I was looking for. I get a really nice family vibe from Stone Fox. They all seem to get along but also treat their customers like family - in a good way! I love that their products are all natural and organic. I have no problem getting appointments quickly and at times that work for me. They have a super convenient parking lot, too, which is AWESOME for the East Side. I had had a bad experience previously with another stylist who razored my ends to hell, and Sarah said that we would work together to get my hair back to where it should be. And my cut was exactly what I wanted even though I had to go a bit shorter than I would have liked (to get rid of the bad razoring). Sarah and I talked through everything to try to determine what was best for me and my hair - I was a little nervous seeing someone new, but she was very patient with me and took the time that was necessary to make sure I was happy with everything. The brand of hair products that SF carries is amazing. Similar to Aveda, in that they're natural and mostly organic, but they do so much more for my hair than Aveda ever could (and one of the shampoo/conditioner types smells like Thin Mints. The Salon has been open under new management for about a year now. They are a full service hair and nail salon. They also do waxing and have esthetician services. I am very impressed with everyone who works here. They are upbeat, happy, friendly and very, very professional. My lady is particularly happy and loves the new owners, Melanie and Rebecca, as well as manicurist Janelle, who also performs pedicures. According to my lady, Melanie "...is an artist..." and is the reason why she gets so many compliments from others about her hair. The location is in a shopping center on Bluemound Road and Calhoun. I have to admit that I am not someone who comes every 10 weeks for a cut and color. I usually wait 13-15 weeks in between cuts, sometimes longer. I know, I'm pretty bad when it comes to my hair! Haha. So in the last year, I've been here a total of 3 times, but every time I come in I really like my hair when I leave! It's very simple and cute inside! They will offer coffee or water while you are getting your hair done as well. There is a tv to watch or music on to keep you entertained. Alexis is very friendly, professional and talented. I have never had a bad cut and Diane's skills with color are incredible. I get frequent compliments on my cut and color, and Diane is careful that I don't get too set in my ways. She will suggest when at least a slight change is needed. The salon is a serene hospitable environment and Leroy and Diane be sure to make their clients comfortable.
