We rolled into a Love's Travel Stop somewhere in the dusty middle of New Mexico with a car running on fumes and a group running on beef jerky and stubborn hope. From the outside, it looked like an oasis--bright lights, clean pumps, and a big red heart that whispered, "Come in, traveler... we have clean bathrooms." Inside was a beautiful chaos: truckers comparing boots, kids losing their minds over slushies the size of small buckets, and a guy at the counter trying to buy a single banana and a windshield wiper. I headed for the restroom, and let me tell you, it was clean enough that I almost considered living there. Almost. The snack aisle was a spiritual experience--wall-to-wall trail mix, Hot Cheetos, and mystery meat sticks. I grabbed a soda, a slice of gas station pizza and got back on the road feeling satisfied. One of the many Love's Travel Sop locations my husband and I visited during our trip towards Arizona a few weeks ago. Love's tend to be consistently decent pit stops, which is why we ended up visiting so many locations both on our way to Arizona and on our way back home. I'm definitely grateful they have lots of stores across the country. Bathrooms were clean and, according to other reviews, newly remodeled. Snacks were well stocked, as were the drink fridges and there is also a Carl's Jr fast food restaurant conveniently located inside. They also have showers if you need them. Don't forget to download their app and take advantage of the 10 cents off per gallon of gas when you enter your phone number associated with the account. read more

Came here to stay for the night. Great place to stop and rest. Very welcoming. Under construction/remodeling. Mens restrooms are outside in luxury, heated porta-pottie trailer! Never seen one until now. With flushing toilets and sink with running water!! They keep the mens rooms spotless. This Love's travel stop in NM, (1028 NM-156, Santa Rosa, NM 88435) is one of the few travel stops by Loves's which allows the non-commercial traveler to park overnight and sleep in any of the parking spots. The other Love's travel stop got signs saying "Love's 2 hour parking" and "Love's 1 hour parking" in other states along I-40. Picture is of my morning coffee. Fresh and hot. Stopped for gas since it was $2.99 per gallon. My husband was on another pump where the skip button wouldn't work. He came inside to ask what to do, because he had to skip in order to pump gas. The make attendant said to him, "what do you want me to do about it?" Ummmm, help fix it!! my hubby had to go outside to reset the pump and then came back in and had to put $50 on the pump since the skip button wouldn't work the guy the guy then left and a female attendant took over. Is that how they treat customers at loves I've never been treated like that at loves station.. go elsewhere there's plenty of other stations around pilot and sheer nearby the same price. read more

The station is under renovation so the men's room is outside in porta-johns. Women's restroom is inside. Coffee was almost gone at 10 am. The place is rather jumbled up inside and the employees I encountered were just there. They couldn't care less if you were there or not. I bought coffee and we purchased fuel. Outside at the pump next to ours, a man got out to pump gas and fell over unconscious. Thankfully construction men saw it and rushed over to start chest compressions. A sheriff's deputy arrived. The ambulance arrived and we had to leave. I hope the man was ok.... If you know anything about that event, please let me know. I was very upset the rest of the day. read more

Cute and convenient gas station with self check out options inside. I would not recommend though based on the fact that the lady on the speaker will yell at you. I only stopped because I needed air. Paid with my card, the unit did not have sufficient air pressure to inflate my tires beyond 29 pounds. Proper air pressure is needed for both fuel economy and road safety, especially on high temperature, high speed limit stretches of road. Non working air is a big problem. I stop at Love's around the country and find them to be good. Please have a talk with the vendor that maintains the air. I see there are some Tesla electric chargers....why not have Tesla do the air too? read more

This place is awful. We wanted 4 bags of ice and the Clerk rudely told us she could only sell us four bags only two per customer. I said I am a customer and my husband is another customer. We told her we are two customers and she could not refuse to sell each of us the two bags. She said she could. My question is, why is one of us a customer and the other one isn't? Easily one of the worst Loves we've stopped at. Tough to access from the interstate because of hillside placement. Right parking lot makes for a game of frogger with trucks, RVs and cars all trying to get into the gas pumps. Adding insult to injury - bathrooms are blocked off (broken? Cleaning?) with instructions to use the 3 toilets contained in the 3 individual shower stalls. Major fail for a brand that prides itself of quality rest stops. read more

Cheap gas and clean bathrooms equal a happy camper and his wife during the road trip through the pandemic and economic wasteland of 2020. The cashiers are rude and confrontational with customers. When we told cashiers that we didn't know where the bottle of soda that slipped out of our and landed in fridge and exploded went, two employees verbally attacked us. They acted as if they were doing the world a favor by being there. These two women need to develop some serious customer service skills. If they are so unhappy with their lives maybe they shouldn't be working in customer service. A smile and a kind word would go a lot of further than their grouchy faces and unhappy disposition. While me and my family stopped to use the restroom and grab some coffee, a white lady maybe in her 50's who works there, was being absolutely so rude. As we were walking out she quote on quote said "They dropped coffee, they need to clean up for themselves they probably do this at home". Which we didn't drop the coffee, it was just a little spill. She could've just been having a bad night but as well are we from driving all day and night. While we were there was also a Guatemalan family there (I'm Mexican) I have a strong feeling she was racist, because once we had entered she gave my mom a nasty look. Man the one lady that works there is something else my husband is a truck driver we stopped here so he could do his sleep hours and when we went to take a shower she got rude told him if he was sure he wanted a shower and he says yes then she says there is 3 a head of you my husband says ok so she then asks how many showers he says one n she gets mad then tells the other male worker that we didn't need to stand around( talking about us) so reason we just stood around is cuz there was nothing to let us know when our shower would be ready.. then we watch the guy just spray the toilet n call the shower room clean (they gave us that shower) but what she did before we got the shower was a shocker she came up and asked what number we had so my husband told her she then says that's not the number I asked all rudely so my husband got rude back to her n she says you're not gonna talk to me like that so my husband said you're the one that was rude first she then walks away and started talking about us to the other worker there read more

It can be hard to write great things about a gas stop where there is not of great things going on, but the view is spot on! "Truck stop with a view!" Now who in the world would review a truck stop, I would. To note: Be careful with the winds in this area, they can be very rough! I stopped at this Loves to fill up my gas tank, purchase snacks, and use the bathroom. I was very impressed. I was getting worried for a while on the road with all of the little "broken down" looking gas stations, then Loves appeared and so did joy in my heart. Loves has always been one of my favorite travel stops, and this location is top notch (as per usual). The bathrooms were super clean; there was the sweetest lady cleaning while I stopped in. Then, after I gathered all my snacks, the cashier was very kind and cashed me out at rapid manner. While i was there checking out, the previous customer had left their credit card. The cashier proceeded to call the manager for instructions, and they found the credit card holder! I witnessed the entire thing and I was very impressed. I thought I must write a review! I would go to love's it is a little cleaner and friendlier then the T/A and if memory service they have a Hardied's if you are not in the mood for hardied's you may like Denny's just go back under I-40 passed the service road to Will Rogers Dr. or you can go on down Passed Denny's to Rout 66 Restaurant both are pretty good and the service is good to if you are in a truck there is some park and if you are going west you can go down to the nest exit and get back on 40, so this is a eazy on eazy off stop off and if you deside on Denny's when you get ready to go check out the jewelry,I have picked up some nice pieces of southwest jewelry at that Denny's... read more

So I go in to Carls Jr and make a dine-in order. They bring me my food in a bag. So I ask "why don't I get a tray?" The response: "We ran out" How do you run out? I ask.. her words were that the morning shift didn't wash them....... mind you at this time there were no orders pending, nothing going on in the kitchen. Except for the employees being on their cell phones listening to music(which was audible from the dining area). So in short, the millenials working there expect to be rewarded/paid JUST for showing up, rather than EARNING their keep and working. I do not prefer Love's as opposed to other options, but this is usually my assigned fuel stop. The fuel lanes/parking are often a circus at any given time, but that speaks more of other drivers than of Love's. Good coffee. I appreciate the staff, Eddie at the fuel desk is my favorite. A tip: if you see a male and female at the entrance driveway, standing by their car begging for "gas money", don't fall for it. Take it from me: I am a truck driver, this stop is part of my usual route. This is just a corner they "work". I witness these parasites "run out of gas" just about every/every other week. At the same time. Parked at the same spot. Claiming to have run out of gas, yet SOMEHOW made it THAT FAR, UPHILL LOL!
