So glad we drove through Santa Rosa during the morning. Read and totally agree with the positive reviews for Mr. Bee's Coffee & Teas. Homemade croissants are phenomenal. Finding green chile on the breakfast menu means we're in the real Southwest. Wonderful coffee with an XL size for long trips. Will definitely return.

We had almond croissant and chocolate chip scones.

We were the first ones in this morning and a lady that help us with our order was very nice and polite. The coffee was delicious, the pastries were good. A good coffee stop on our way home. Thank you.

Perfect square area to walk the pup and get some fresh air after long car trips!

Sweet spot in Santa Rosa just off i40 along historic Route 66. While traveling through we found this stop through Yelp looking for coffee and breakfast. This was the perfect stop!! Local shop with friendly service, great coffee and tea selection and unique little gift show to peruse while you wait. They also have lots of food options and serve lunch all day! Grab a sandwich for later in town the road ;-). We were also traveling with our pup. The location next to the square made it perfect to take the pup for a walk and get some fresh air while we prepare to complete 10 more hours in the car! This stop will be added to our list for sure!

Burrito bowl and a juice - amazing stuff!

Favorite breakfast place I got to visit during a road trip from California to Texas. Service was friendly, efficient and kind. Cute medium sized shop with some seating and local trinkets for sale. My London Fog latte here was really good, made with a Tazo tea which isn't my favorite but whatever they did to it, was good! Had another London fog latte with tazo at a different coffee shop and it wasn't as good. Burrito bowl tasted freshly made with quality ingredients and so flavorful, had to ask for a couple hot sauce packets to amplify the spice though. The juice I got was AMAZING. I think it had blueberries and I forget the rest but it was listed on a sign by the register and was one of the best juices I've had for a not so crazy price which I now forget. Overall a perfect coffee shop with lots of food and drink options! Found this because it was open early morning from our road trip and I'd return if I'm ever back in town!

I am truly surprised that there are already 126 reviews of Mr. Bees. This is small town America and how is this place so heavily Yelped? I dunno but I'm sure happy to add another five stars to this wonderful coffee shop! After driving an hour of boring I-40, it was nice to get off the road for coffee and breakfast and some wifi. Mr. Bees is friendly, local, inexpensive and comfortable. The coffee was terrific, the bagel was great (definitely not a New York bagel) with egg and cheese. The service was wonderful and I enjoyed my two hours here with the laptop catching up on work before continuing onwards. [Review 21033 overall - 105 in New Mexico - 2018 of 2023.]

Cute little gift…read moreshop items adorn the walls and around the cash wrap we were sitting in the corner of the restaurant and had a nice view out of the window. We were immediately asked for our drink order now they do serve beer here and it's my understanding the margaritas are made with wine. We just had water as we had had a long day traveling and just needed to rehydrate. I included some pictures of the food that we ordered, but I wanted to note that the chips and salsa was very good. The chips were made of corn and salted lightly and served warm. The salsa was handmade and on the spicy side I had a bowl of Caldo de Res ( beef soup with vegetables. Definitely comfort food and I highly recommend) and a homemade pork green chili tamale on the side. The tamale was flavored outstanding, but was a little lacking on the meat and slightly on the dry side, but I would definitely order it again because it was authentic and the flavor was great. The other person in my party had a quesadilla stuffed with chicken. I didn't have a photo of that, but it was the fattest quesadilla I've ever seen they raved about it. The restaurant was relatively full. I noticed in the parking lot that most of the license plates were from out of state so since this restaurant is in Santa Rosa, New Mexico located off the interstate of I 40 many of these patrons were traveling we're passing through. A lot of individual people eating alone as well at the bar. The service was fantastic. There was two young ladies working together in tandem definitely family members. Both had great big smiles on their faces. I did comment to both of them not to work too hard and both responded "oh we have been since the day they we were born" as they chuckled, commenting something along that line with warm smiles and a chuckle. This particular restaurant gets high marks for me as I compare it to the one down the end of the street also on this historic route 66 that I reviewed not just four or five weeks ago at three stars. I would highly recommend this place over the competitor. Not only for flavor of food but Service, atmosphere and pricing. I travel through here quite often and I will definitely make a point to come back and try several different menu items. I will be sure to ask the owners what they recommend and report back and review that for all that maybe are following in case you happen to come through here to this family owned an operated gem.

They do not have a full bar so the only margarita I could get was a frozen one. It was very good and tasty actually for not usually drinking these. This is a nice place and we would go back. Definitely recommended.

However their dining area is large and fairly quiet especially if you sit more towards the back. Despite being busy they were really quick and friendly. Food came out hot and fresh. This was our first time trying the fish sandwich and it's ok a little heavy on the breading but for a fast food fish it's not too bad. Keep in mind they make the fish fresh made to order so it takes about 6mins. Also you can order it reg or spicy. The mashed potatoes had plenty of gravy which I love. The red beans and rice were mixed perfectly. Both were full to the top so we had plenty of leftovers for later. Spicy chicken sandwiches could have had a bit more of a kick to them but over all crispy, juicy, and fresh. Hubby tried the heart shaped strawberry biscuits and they also make these fresh to order they have tons of icing on top and it is a bit sweet however the strawberry balances out the sweet. I do wish it had more of a fresh strawberry flavor. Both the sweet and unsweetened teas were fresh and enjoyable. If you're in the area this Popeyes is worth giving a try.
