Ana was amazing from the start. I am so glad I found her because it saved my breastfeeding journey with my daughter. She gave me so much information and support after the consultation also. My daughter had a posterior tongue tie and we ended up getting it revised. It was initially difficult but once she healed and learned how to suck properly, it was fantastic. I breastfed for 21 months! Breastfeeding can be very stressful and if you're having pain or issues, get help right away! It's worth it! Any money spent was well worth it in my book. Agree with previous poster and I saw Ana from this lactation group. I came to Ana in office after having latching issues and difficulty using a nipple shield, my baby was not even 2 weeks old at the time of this appointment. Ana says VERY discouraging comments. She has a weight scale in her office and proceeded to weigh my baby before and after feeding and then berated me about my baby not getting enough milk and I must have a low supply - which I do not! I believe this practice of weighing the baby in office is extremely discouraging to women already KNOWING they are having problems breastfeeding, what is the purpose of this other than to discourage the woman? Also my baby WAS gaining weight at her week follow up with our pediatrician! She also took many calls and texts during my appointment. This is not worth the money as she basically gave me ZERO advice or new information on how to get my daughter to latch. Long story short breastfeeding did not work out for me and my daughter after this appointment and I have been exclusively pumping since. I wish I went to see someone else who could have truly helped. I am absolutely happy that I reached out to Ana from Loving Start Lactation. She had a very warm and embracing personalitu and very professional while still creating such a comfortable environment. It obvious she is passionate about what she does. I never felt like rushed even though I got to my appointment 10 min. Late she took her time to go through alot of what she observed with me and my baby. She is very hands on and knowledgeable and providing tons of information, which I definitely do appreciate. Horrible lactation service, save your money & time if you really do want to breastfeed your bundle of joy. 175$ & was texting and taking calls the entire session.. when she got to my apt complex she asked me where to park, I told her the number of the parking space where to park and she parked in some random parking spot that she wanted to park in and then asked me if she had to move?? Well yeah if not you're parked in someone's space and you'll get towed, maybe if she wasn't texting 24/7 she would of listened to directions.. then she makes a VERY discouraging comment and said "you might think im crazy and won't even want to breastfeed after this" after suggesting for me to trick my baby with some method of letting the baby suck in air from the bottle 5 times and then 5 times milk to make her learn to work for her milk...... baby was the ENTIRE night crying in pain with gas bc she sucked in so much air... she also examined her mouth and told me the reason she can't latch right is bc she has a posterior tongue tie which mind you, you cannot cut that bc it's alllll the way in the back barely even visible.. the consultants name was Andrea and she does not love her job believe me she's miserable !! It's been weeks and with all the texting/phone calls she does I'm shocked at how she hasn't even texted me to ask me how breastfeeding is going, that's such horrible service, thank god I'm such a determined person bc if I would of truly let this lady guide me I would of literally not breastfed for real after all the discouragement that she gave me in that session... DO NOT use their lactation services.. it's basically stealing your money you're better off going to a LC from WIC it's free and they're way more helpful and also board certified. With a new baby you will want to use your money wisely and i really messed up when I contacted them! (I'm now breastfeeding successfully and almost exclusively with the help of a WIC lactation consultant) read more
