The course was 9 holes, was not too busy for a Saturday afternoon, and is beginner-friendly. The rest of the park is very nice as well! There are multiple paths that make there way around the park, some looping and some being out and back. There are also connecting paths to take you across the road to other parks and areas of Hillsboro. Overall, this park is a very nice, family friendly, park with many things to offer and beautiful walking scenery no matter the season.

I recommend checking out if you're around, with a viewpoint that looks out to Willamette Valley. On a Monday in the early afternoon, we stopped by Bald Peak State Scenic Viewpoint which has a lower parking lot area and on the upper area is where cars can park along the side for a quick stop. From the lower parking lot is a short walk to the upper area, where most people stop by to see the views of Oregon's wine country. There were a few picnic tables and some people had brought out their camping chairs and staked a spot to chill. It's a quiet, serene area that's high up to see the area. But if you're looking for a hiking trail, there isn't much of that here. It truly is just a viewpoint where you can stop and check out.

We live a few miles down the road and walk here, nearly, every day with our dog. The park is…read moreimmaculate except for (the unavoidable) goose poop and, during most of the year, you'll often see park personnel maintaining the grounds consistently. We usually walk the little wooded/paved trail, then through the Willamette River path. We, typically, run into other dog owners and dog-friendly people who enjoy petting our very friendly doodle. With few exceptions, everyone adheres to the, clearly posted, on-leash rule. There are 2 doggy clean-up bag dispensers and dog-owners are extremely mindful about keeping the park super clean. The overall vibe is really pleasant and people of all ages enjoy this place - including lots of teens. If you, or someone you know, has mobility issues, there are wooden benches located on most of the walking paths. On any given day, you'll see people pausing to rest a bit or just enjoying a visit with friends. There is a sheltered structure located in the middle of the park. The surrounding tables and chairs are great for picnics and you can reserve the entire area for private parties. The rest rooms are clean for a public park which I truly appreciate.

If you want to get closer to the water, there are boat ramps you can walk down and a pier lookout. As you meander, you will come across several sculptures and art stones that tell the history of the river. And a Veterans Memorial and a water feature for the kids to play in on hot days. Always lots of people walking their dogs. There is a lovely picnic area with several tables and chairs under a vine covered pergola. For coverage from the rain or sun, there is a large A-frame structure next to it that also has lots of tables, chairs and even a fireplace. You can reserve this area for gatherings through Lake Oswego. We came her to celebrate Mother's Day and a friends birthday, needing to be outside since the two guests of honor recently had Covid. Even though they were three weeks out, we didn't want to take chances so held our celebration here. There was plenty of space for us to be together yet separate. Lots of garbage cans everywhere making it easy to clean up afterwards. In the summer Foothills Park is part of the Concerts in the Park series which I absolutely love! The concerts attract a lot of people so we always come early to get a parking spot and claim our space on the lawn. Lots of families picnicking and kids playing. It's a wonderful way to spend a summer evening! The concerts were cancelled in 2020 & 2021 but we are looking forward to having them resume in 2020. Located just a few blocks from downtown Lake Oswego, Foothills Park is just lovely.

There's also some interesting granite sculpture work to look at here. A small park for sure and tiny compared to other Tualatin Hills venues but it's a nice neighborhood stop. If you weren't a townie you wouldn't even know it's here as it is a couple of blocks off Cornell.
