From pottery to sculptures to paintings,…read moreyou're almost guaranteed to find a piece that speaks to you and maybe even earns a spot in your home. This was my first visit to The Studio, a gallery tucked away in Hillcrest, and I was genuinely impressed. They showcase a wide range of artists, and it's especially great to see so many talented creatives from San Diego getting the spotlight. The featured show we saw was by Lance Chung, whose work beautifully captures dancers in motion. His pieces feel like stepping into a dream or a fairytale. They are whimsical, expressive, and just plain mesmerizing. Beyond the main exhibit, the gallery opens up into multiple rooms featuring other artists, so you can wander and discover even more creativity. One artist showcased pottery and mentioned she hosts group pottery classes. Honestly, such a fun idea for a birthday or team event. All in all, it was an immersive and inspiring experience that I'd happily do again.

Being a passionate lover of being on the water, an avid swimmer and a scuba diver it spoke to me. Several years later- I bought the original. I gladly paid asking price and would have never thought to ask for a "better price". I have since added her Aluminums, Steel Rounds, and Framed Reprints. Her art is breath-taking. She pours her heart, soul, mind, imagination and then finally her talent as a LIFE LONG Passion (& Wayne State MFA Educated Artist) -to bring an image to canvas. Art isn't for everyone & Mee's Gallery is free admission to view her heart, soul, and lifelong passion. She's been in same location for 13+ years. Not many businesses- who make millions, and millions more- can even say that - especially on India Street. Please don't ask for discounts when she spends at times months on a piece or you don't understand the background details to create such an image. Don't ask for pricing favors- like no tax- Mee Shim has to pay it on sales & so should you as buyer. And lastly- don't be rude, loud, obnoxious, disregarding her posting for "No Photos". Again this is her heart and soul- and she is an open, free Gallery for people to admire and perhaps grow with seeing her works. If you Love her Art- Tell Her, and Purchase an Original. If you don't connect, the open door you came thru is still open to leave thru. Be KIND- It will be better Karma than some Negative One Star Review you provide- and most important remember- The entire experience is Zero COST to you whether you loved it or otherwise. Her Gallery is a welcomed break from the hustle of restaurants, and Her Passion and Enthusiasm surround the visitor. Please visit- you'll be glad you did.

I will start with the art. They had a few artists displayed but mostly had the work of Grant Pecoff (given that it is his gallery). They also had some very moving pieces from Stephanie Clair, the expression that she created with her cubism style and simplistic faces was very apparent and warm. Then I noticed Grant work and immediately recognized it. One of my friends has a piece of his I have always loved, it is of about 10 narrow homes above a reflective river in Amsterdam, the colors used and the reflection created are so unique and awesome. I love his art and hope to one day own a few of his pieces as they would compliment any room. He also has many San Diego paintings, including one of the Coronado bridge...which elicits a very interesting story of how he met his wife Layne. She had seen this painting for the first time a week before her parents came into town. When she was showing them around Del Mar she remembered it and brought them over to the window to check it out as she went on and on about how much she loved it. A guy was also looking at it from outside of the window and let her know there was a marching band on the side of the beach that day, that man was Grant Pecoff and only 5 weeks after that moment, they went on a trip to Europe together and had gotten married. Layne is full of happiness and it radiates to you when talking with her. She provides such a warm and comfortable aura and will leave you in positive thought after conversing with her. She writes the children's books with Grant's art next to the words, I have read through some of them and would recommend to any parent who hopes for an active imagination for their young one. The art and words dance and mingle in a lively fashion that stirs even an adult mind. If you are in the Little Italy area and you are look for an uplifting gift for your eyes and mind, please oh please, come on in and surround yourself with beauty.

I needed new wheels on my rolling bag and was on a short work trip to San Diego. When I called 2 days before I was planning to come in, the Urban Index employee was kind, accommodating and shared all the necessary information to set me up for success. Little did I know, that was just the beginning. Upon arrival, I was greeted promptly and the issue was identified. It took their staff SEVEN MINUTES to fix the wheels. SEVEN!! And at a point where I was tight on timing (I had to make multiple stops and hit a work meeting) it made all of the difference.

This was the second luggage failure in less than two months, following another suitcase that was badly dented. Frustrated, I decided it was time to invest in a quality piece of luggage that would last, but I had no idea where to start. After asking AI for recommendations, I was pointed to Index Urban, and the recommendation was spot on. Art and Michele went above and beyond to help me. They took the time to explain the pros and cons of different brands, listened patiently as I weighed my options, and even helped me unpack and repack my belongings into different suitcases to make sure everything would fit. What impressed me most was their knowledge, honesty, and genuine desire to help me find the right luggage for my travel needs--not just make a sale. They walked me through different usage scenarios and practical considerations that I would never have thought about on my own. I highly recommend Index Urban to anyone shopping for luggage, whether you're a seasoned traveler or have no idea where to begin. The customer service was exceptional, and the expertise was invaluable.
