I visited this place for the first time with a friend a couple days ago. I was in awww of the beautiful work that was displayed throughout the store!!!! One of the owners, Diane, was very pleasant and friendly in nature. One could tell she has a beautiful soul. My friend is a joker but loved and appreciated the quality of the work and had last been there about 5 years ago but remembered the excitement and pleasant experience at the store. It was a pleasant experience to enjoy my first time here with my friend and Diane. As I walked around the store I instantly fell in love with a small pair of green and blue glass earrings. I knew I wanted something to buy as a memorabilia. I must say of all of the pieces of jewelry that I own and as expensive as mine are, that these earrings are my favorite!!! They were inexpensive but so beautiful, caught the light in a way that was absolutely stunning on my complexion. Love them and have worn them every day since. As I was going to pay for my earrings my friend took notice of a beautiful peacock that was blue, green and had streaks of gold. When asked if I liked it of course I did who doesn't like peacocks, it was gorgeous. To my surprise, My friend bought me the small Peacock and my earrings!!! Of all the gifts that I have these are my prize possessions. They're absolutely beautiful, well made and made with love. I knew this shop was special and I can see that it's because of the integrity and craftsmanship that goes into each piece. Diane is a blessing and I wish nothing but good health, success and happiness for her and her family. I can't wait to bring my out of town family here!!! There's only a few places that I frequent and this will be one of them when I'm in the area to appreciate the art and buy something and the other is the seashell shop in Morro Bay, CA. read more

My husband and I visit San Diego twice a year and every time I would go into Lowery's Hot Glass and see the pendant lighting and think I wanted that in our Pennsylvania home. I wanted to bring a piece of beautiful San Diego home with me. We met with Diane and talked about what I was looking for and she offered so many wonderful ideas. We went home and I took all types of pictures of our home and sent them to Diane so that she could get a feel for who we were and how we liked to live our lives. After emails and all my silly questions, (Diane is very patient) we had her create two (2) fluted pendants to hang in our kitchen over our island and she created a inverted fluted bowl to hang over our dinette table. They are amazing. Words can not describe how beautiful they are. The colors are so rich and lush. We love them and every time I look at them I think of San Diego. Diane you are very sweet. Thank you for the beautiful pieces you created for us. We will be back very soon to San Diego Diane and we will be in to visit....I'm thinking centerpiece for dining room table now. Absolutely terrible! I would give this place a negative star if that option were available because they don't even deserve one. I am completely disgusted with Diane's egocentric attitude. I visited this store with the intention of purchasing a lovely gift for my beautiful wife. I made inquire into the provenance of an item displayed for sale and was told by Diane that the particular item in question was mass produced and that they had no detailed information about that piece or the artist. I was shocked to find out that they where selling massed produced glass art here, their misleading oversized business card had given me the impression that all items in their store inventory where hand made as stated on the bottom right hand corner of said card. I asked Diane if this establishment offered a military discount, she stated that they do not and spoke to me as if I were an uneducated second class citizen. Diane's tone was harsh and she seemed annoyed by the presence of my family. Diane's overall attitude made my wife so uncomfortable that my wife left the store while I made an unsuccessful attempt to close out a deal for what was an overpriced mass manufactured glass item of unknown origin. I will never come here again and I would suggest that anyone reading this take caution when dealing with these arrogant disrespectful hooligans. On a side note; I was able to purchase a lovely gift for my wife at a different store just a brisk walk away from this cesspool. The other establishment had a welcoming atmosphere, polite/attentive staff and offered a military discount. I would name this establishment but I wouldn't want their good name to be tainted or associated with this review. Save your time and money and go anywhere but here. read more

This store is absolutely beautiful! When I first walked in the store, the fall themed pieces really caught my eye. I was obsessed with a gorgeous white and gold pumpkin, but my hubby said we should look at all the shops before we decide what we wanted to buy (we were doing a LOT of shopping!) so I had to skip the pumpkin. I picked out a cute frog from her tiny treasures bowl to get for my mom, and hubby bought himself an adorable little slug for his desk at work! While we were at a booth at the outside street fair, my husband changed his mind and told me to go back and get the pumpkin - so excited!! But when I walked back in, the pumpkin was gone So my husband went in and asked Diane about it. He said Diane opened all of her boxes to see if she had another, and then offered to have a new one ordered, with free shipping to our home. She was so helpful to him, and I am so grateful! Turns out, my husband was talking with our neighbor (we were vacationing with him), and told him the story including how he special ordered a new pumpkin for me - our neighbor told hubby to cancel the order because HE bought it for me! What a sweet surprise Diane was so sweet and her shop is absolutely beautiful! I can't wait to return on our next trip to San Diego! read more

Wow, what a beautiful and wonderful and store! I accidentally stumbled upon this somewhat hidden gem while walking through Old Town to another store...and was blown away by all the elegant glass art. I left 1.5 hours later with as much as I could possibly carry. The owner (Diane) is very kind, and doesn't just own the shop but creates glass art. The shop features blown glass art from multiple artists, so there's an incredible variety. I'm often shopping for elegant glass art & vases for gifts for friends and clients. Over the years, Diane has created 13 lighting fixtures and pendant lights for our ranch on the Central Coast of California. They are all beautiful! And when I told her I was painting the wine cellar Disney purple, she made a light fixture for the wine cellar! I also have three vases and one large bowl that she created. The best piece I think is the torchiere that she created after a conversation and I turned her loose and trusted her artistic abilities. Everyone loves my lights.
