I came to Lowes with my mom to pick up a birthday cake. We were only planning to pop in for a few things, but there is an actual bar in this grocery store. I'm sorry, I'm from Georgia, and we do not have grocery stores that serve anything but Starbucks. I ordered the 2 for $4 "momosa" because, duh. It was very good, and all I could think about was how much more pleasant grocery shopping would be if I could always do it with a mimosa... So, we sipped and shopped, and I fell in total love with this place. Definitely need a Lowes to come to Cobb County. The birthday cake was beautiful and DELICIOUS and only $25. I wasn't studying ALL of their prices, but from what I saw, they are in line with a standard grocery store. Some of my usual buys in the meat department were a little higher than I normally pay, but I also noticed they have sales and some kind of shoppers club that allows you discounts. They also have their very own coffees and teas, and a fun local section with yummy local fare that would make great gifts! Overall, I'm super impressed. read more

Seldom do I look forward to grocery shopping but Lowes is on the brink of changing that! They have EVERYTHING! Garden plants, blended coffees and teas, a bakery, a Cakery, a smoking oven for the best smoked meats, on site hand roped sausages, pizzas, craft your own sandwiches, Belgium chocolate, freshly squeezed juices, gourmet oils and vinegars, an extensive wine selection, free range chicken prepared a number of ways. They support local businesses and have an amazing array of locally sourced products. If you need your produce prepped a certain way, take your selected product to the counter and they'll do it for you! All this plus interactive exhibits--children can "blow out" the gigantic candles in the Cakery and then relight them by yelling"I love cakes!" Also, dispose of your sampling spoons in the child height candle display and make a wish as you do so. Oh and when a chicken come out of the oven, an overhead display lights up and EVERYONE can join in the Chicken Dance. For the adults, "belly up to the bar" and enjoy one of their unique beers at the Beer Den. Lowes doesn't have employees, nor associates. They have HOSTS and HOSTESSES, eager to make you feel welcome! I am going to keep this short and sweet. If you like meat, then this place is a must go. They have so many smoked meats, especially sausages and they have a hot and ready area with chicken, ribs and more for very cheap. They have an interesting selection of products and their bakery is awesome. Don't forget to stop to grab a beer while you sip, and if you sip a bit too much make sure you brought a driver with you. We stopped in here to do some shopping and have something to eat. We had sandwiches from Sammy's. They were really good and service was fast and friendly. Shopping was also get. Definitely recommend getting a Lowe's card, you can save a good bit depending on what you buy. I will go back here and I recommend it for a meal and shopping. read more

I give this place 5 stars because the good qualities far our weigh the bad qualities. The Good: 1) OMG all of the employees were super friendly! Multiple employees greeted me, asked how I was doing, and if I was finding what I was looking for. Everyone was also genuinely friendly; no one felt fake with their friendliness. 2) There were lots of local items. I'm not 100% sure where Lowes Foods is based but they carry lots of local "NC" products including flowers and BBQ sauce. 3) Das beer selection!!! I'm still in shock how much beer the place carried in just the coolers. 4) On the beer topic, they have a tap location where you can sample multiple local brews. And, don't tell anyone, Thursday is "Thirsty Thursday" meaning in the afternoon at a certain time, not only is their live music but DRAFT PINTS ARE HALF OFF! WHAT?!?!?! Are you kidding me???? Now for the not so good (but far from bad): 1) I felt the prices are higher than anywhere else in the Upstate when it comes to groceries. 2) If you live near Greenville, it's quite a hike to this location in Greer. If not for being in the Greer area today, I still wouldn't have stopped here. Overall, what a great grocery store!!! Holy crap! This place has changed my idea of grocery shopping. No longer using big box stores or regular grocery chains to do my shopping. They experience was awesome!! When we first arrived I went and quickly grabbed a beer. The selection was top notch and the service was fantastic. Prices were cheaper than most beer bars and had the same stuff they would be serving there. They have growlers to go, will be getting one next time. I was floored by the smoked meats and the quality/choices of the meat department. I had never heard or thought something like this would have been available in a small town like ours. They have precooked smoked meats, specialty sausages (fresh and smoked), custom bacon, and DRY AGED STEAKS!!! We got a pack of regular NY strips for 4.97$ a pound!!! They looked awesome and were cut perfectly (not to thick, not to thing, and weren't tiny!!!). The smoked pulled pork with BBQ sauce was excellent! Went home and made sandwiches with it. From what I can tell walking around the majority of the aisles they have the same products all grocery stores have plus their brand stuff. Their brand stuff was not just ordinary things. They had interesting sauces, seasonings and all types of stuff! The bakery looks astounding. Prices reasonable and lots of choices! Many types of in house cooked bread and bakery Goods. The deli premise sections was disappointing. We got broccoli salad side, cole slaw side and twice baked potato salad. All of which were not good. The broccoli salad smelled like it had sat a little to long, the coleslaw taste was off, and the potato salad had no flavor!! The customer service was awesome! Everyone was friendly and wanted to help. They made sure we knew what we were buying and got what we needed. We defiantly love this place and will be back. It gives us the Whole Foods/fresh market experience but at a much more reasonable cost! read more

Now this is a place you gotta visit and become familiar with. The best store for all kinds of groceries and enjoyments. I specially liked the bread Department as it has every kind of bread plus some new creative ones. Clean and very upbeat. The employees are fantastic and very happy to work. What a grocery store! I visited this store while I was looking for a new home. The proximity of my home to this store was a factor in making my decision. Their selection is 1st rate. You can also get food to go. Nowhere have I seen a place where you could sip a beer while you are shopping. There is also an excellent coffee bar for morning shoppers. As I work sometimes into the evening, it is comforting to know that they are open until midnight although the food service and the beer service are shut down earlier. I have used some of their store brands and found them to be of excellent quality. Overall, I'm looking forward to the shopping experience at this store Not just because of their proximity to home, but of their excellent quality and customer service. read more

OK this is definitely not your Grannys grocery store. There is a great place to have a beer while you decide to write your shopping list that you probably left at home, or you can just have a beer because they are unbelievably tasty. We first saw the coffee shop, which was absolutely amazing. If you can name it they can make it and their prices are much better than you would think. The next section was the cheese oh my goodness that was my favorite section every kind of cheese you could imagine and then some. On Wednesdays they do not sample in the cheese department but they do on other days. On Wednesdays it's apparently truck day so everyone was busy stocking the shelves. They had a bakery that was second to none and the cakes actually tasted very good. The wine selection and prices impressed me. They have quite a few specials going on And we were able to snag some really good deals. The staff was friendly and helpful. I did get to sample some chicken salad and it was quite delightful . So bring a growler if you have one and try one of their wonderful Brews, or go to the unbelievably large beer section they have. This is going to be a favorite place of mine even though I live so far away. It was worth the drive. read more

Welcome to Upstate South Carolina! Lowes Foods is an amazing regional supermarket chain that is open, friendly, carries a wide variety of great items. One of the things that really caught my eye was their bar area / growler fill station. Amazing selection of beers. Why not have one as you shop?! Also in their meat department area, they have a "sausage station." Yes, sausages! Several varieties of store made sausages. So many that it required it's own counter space and clerk. I wanted to like this store. The first time I went I had a great experience. I'm not on that side of town often, and so I was excited to go back. I would give employees 5 stars for friendliness & being available all around the store for help. Unfortunately, some of my products weren't clean or fresh. I went there this past Thursday and first thing I noticed when I got home was my pack of strawberries had mold in the middle, which I didn't see on prior inspection. I called and they said I could exchange them, which was very nice. However, I went back the next day and every package I tried to trade with had mold? So, skipped the berries for now and mentioned it to cashier. Then Friday, my organic cherry tomatoes had already molded after a day. Today, Sunday, I went to eat my newly bought yogurt and it tasted funny, checked the package- had expired last month! Then later today was going to snack on my other tomatoes from the bar- also already bad. Never had this problem before. Maybe I should have checked the expiration date on certain things I buy, but I assumed a store like Lowe's would have done that already. Anyways, didn't love the products being expired and going bad just a day or 2 after purchase. The employees are wonderful, but I wouldn't return just for that. read more

My husband and I don't live far from this grocery store. We watched it get built and then waited what seemed like an eternity for them to open the doors! Craft beer and locally roasted coffee are sold for consumption in the grocery store. It certainly makes for happier customers! The produce is fresh and restocked regularly. As a child at heart, I get a kick out of their use of a sound clip from "Singin' in the Rain" as the produce is watered. They make their own sausage onsite! They stock the national brands, but we haven't purchased any since we started shopping here. The Lowes brand sausage is so good (and inexpensive), there's no need for the national brand. Like Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, the local/organic/environmentally friendly options are available and pushed more than the not so local/organic/environmentally friendly options. Even in laundry detergents and pet food. Finally, the checkout lanes are relatively slow. They certainly don't have it down to a science like Publix, but the cashiers and people bagging your groceries are so friendly you hardly notice! They don't even roll your eyes when you bring your own bags! In fact, they give you a discount! Wonderful store! Can't wait to see them build more in the area and change the grocery shopping game in Greenville! read more

This grocery store is lovely in that they have a great wine, beer, cheese, coffee, tea, and very exciting produce section, lol. Their cookies look to die for, but I continue efforts to resist at this time. The most disappointing thing is that the center aisle pricing cannot be trusted enough to continuously shop there on the regular. When i first walked into Lowe's Foods I thought it wasn't very different than a Publix. As you explore the outer edges of the store, you realize that it is far different than Publix. Lowe's has many of the same amenities that Whole Foods does such as a dry aging case for meet and other specialty meats. The chocolate there is imported from Belgium and tempered in house. You can also have them roast a special blend of coffee for you right there on the spot. They also have a smokehouse on site. The other item that was especially appealing to me were their breads. Many of the breads were swirled with sweet and savory flavors. I thought that the sandwiches and the cakes were "eh," however. I'm not surprised that many people like to stop by the bar for a drink after work. The atmosphere is relaxed and the bar tender was friendly. That said, I wouldn't plan on doing my main grocery trips here because it is a little more expensive and I could see myself getting carried away with the intriguing specialty items! read more

I just moved to the area. Grocery shopping here is seriously lacking. Meat and seafood counters a third of the size that I was used to. The extras are fun, but only if they get the basics right. I wish I could give this place 4 and a half stars because this is such a wicked awesome grocery store. I am sad that it is not closer, but also relieved because I would probably come too often and buy too much stuff. This Lowes is more than just a grocery store - it's also a cafe, brewpub, bakery, smokehouse, coffee bar, and more! One one side of the store, you can order coffee and drink it while you shop (there's even a convenient cup holder in the cart!!). On the other side, there is a station with beer and wine, so you can always grab a little drinky to help make the shopping a little better! They have tasty paninis, subs, and personal pizzas if you're craving a bite (the slider pizza is absolutely delish!). Plus their beer and wine sections are both quite large with a great variety and decent prices. They even have a big cheese station, a "spice bazaar", and a cooler of aged meat to get more exotic ingredients. I even found some of their store brand pumpkin spice sausage if you're into trying something a little different! There is so much extra stuff here, but also your regular grocery brands and items as well. Two minor downsides - the prices on regular grocery items are definitely pricier than Publix or Ingles. However, they do have some good sales and double coupons up to $.99. Also, it's only been open for a few weeks, so if you come on the weekend in the near future, expect this place to be packed. I imagine some of the crowd will eventually die down a little, but it was definitely crowded in here when we came on Sunday afternoon. If you are looking to have a unique grocery experience where you can do more than just go shopping, this is definitely worth checking out, especially if you live close to Greer. read more

Perhaps I was expecting too much, but really it's no better than Fresh Market, if even as good. My wife was really excited about the place, but left disappointed. We usually shop Ingles. A look around the neighborhood and a glance at a few of the reviews perhaps explains it for me. It's Yupsterville. My wife and I are retired, we've cooked all our lives, we know food and cooking, and other than the aged prime beef and some 'specialty' meats we don't see anything special about this place except for the fact it caters to the young and upwardly mobile. No question that's why the store was located in this part of town. If having a beer while you shop is your thing, then that's okay. Have two. Then put your kid in the car and drive home. How is that a good thing? The baked goods we tried weren't so good. Pies were mostly thick crust. Bread that should be crusty and chewy had the texture of sandwich bread. Focaccia was horrible. Cheese selection, meh. Wines (we cellar wine, so I know wine and am not talking trash) were just the ordinary, and priced on the high side. Go to Green's for wine or buy online by the case. The produce, just what it should be for the price. There were several better grade canned dog foods. Meat, just okay. Yes, there's aged prime beef if you want to pay the price. How about grass fed beef, a much healthier option? We didn't see any, so we'll stick to the family farms for that. And fact is, the farmer's market has better options price-wise for produce. One thing I found annoying was the number of overripe avocados that were being pulled and replaced with underripe ones. Perhaps if they weren't so overpriced they'd be able to sell them all before they went bad. Someone who works there mentioned they use the overripe ones to make guacamole. Hmm...okay, let's get some and see how it is. In a word, bland and a bit funky tasting. Yes, we should have known better. But making mistakes is often how you learn. The entrance/exit situation is weird. There was one open doorway for people exiting and entering. Logjam! Hopefully that's been fixed. (No, we haven't returned.) If you absolutely must have a Starbucks and a brewery in your grocery store experience, go for it. If you shop for groceries to buy groceries, and then go home to cook you will be okay with Lowes if they're in your neighborhood. Otherwise I suggest going to Ingles. The bread is better, for sure. Fresh Market is better for most things, if there's one nearby. Lowes is just okay, and I don't see a reason to travel any distance to shop there. read more

Love it here! The beer den is my favorite part of the whole store. Every Thursday they do tap takeover with a different brewery hosting and beers are only $2.50!
