Lowe's clerks in the store were helpful and Lowe's had what I neeFed. However, the company they use to outsource installation was horrible! We had scheduled appointments for installation on three separate occasions. All 3 times the company missed the installation appointment! Twice they did not even call and on the third appointment the installation person called to inform us we lived too far away from his house and he was not working late on a Friday! I waited in the paint department for 15 minutes. Whoever was working in that department was paged twice. No one showed. I then went and asked a group of 4 employees who were standing together. This store is a waste of company resources and human capital. If you think that you can buy a kitchen appliances like a range/cooktop and a ventilation hood with support for installation, then you had better just make a plan to not bother asking for help at Lowe's in Abingdon. I have been trying to get a competent Lowe's representative's attention at this store for the better part of a month. I've called more than 8 times. I've been promised a call back by the best person that works in appliances. Nobody is in charge here. There appears to be no accountability. The staff at this store is not sufficiently competent to run a business that contributes to the community with quality services. Obfuscation and layers of process is all I experienced. Actual service at the Lowe's location in Abingdon is not available. A customer must make a service contract with with a dispatching company in North Carolina. One must pay a fee to speak to an installer to determine if that's is the person you want to work on your house. This is an awful customer experience. I firmly believe that closing this location would improve the Abingdon community as well as the local appliance installer community. Corporate, if you are listening... Michael and Ron in appliances are extremely knowledgeable and friendly, but my husband and I have spent over $6000.00 in appliances recently, and everything from the front end to delivery service was wrong. My husband took 2 days of PTO, and the folks never even called for the delivery, and subsequent pick up of incorrect cabinets. I was asked by the assistant manager how to fix my own problem. The lady answering the phone told me I had to bring back the cabinet that the store had delivered incorrectly. The computers say things are in stock when they aren't. And forget about trying to reach someone actually in charge. This is by far the worst big box store experience I've ever had. It may only be a few thousand dollars to them, but it's quite a bit to me. My husband and I will be driving farther to shop at Home Depot. . read more

This is a review of Lowes in general. We bought a 13 cu ft upright freezer. Had it delivered on 11/23/22. Let it cool and then filled the freezer with already frozen food. Then went on vacation. Came home to a freezer that had defrosted most of the food. Called the store and asked for a replacement freezer and was asked what type of credit card we used. Then we were told that since we didn't use the store card, they would only stand behind the purchase for 48 hours from the date of purchase. Had we used the store card, it would have been 30 days. We were referred to Whirlpool and after holding the phone for 40 minutes finally got to talk to a real person. While waiting I tried the online assistant, without success. Have been told that a repair person must come out and assess and after what they found they would see what they MIGHT do. An app't for Wed, 12/14/22 was set. I got the name and phone number of the repair person, called and they came out this afternoon. Diagnosis: bad compressor. This person doesn't do that type of work and now we are waiting for Whirlpool to call about someone else coming. Only if the appliance can not be fixed, will they replace it. We went to the store and spent 1 1/2 hr with the store manager who was not able to get any farther than we did. He said that Lowes recently changed their policy. This is ridiculous!!! 48 hours to be able to return an appliance doesn't give a freezer time to cool. My plan is if the freezer is not fixed by the time my credit card bill comes, I am going to put it in dispute. The store manager tried to be very helpful, was polite at all times. read more

This location is a joke. Don't waste your time or efforts at this Lowe's location; don't waste your fuel driving there-- definitely don't give them any business. The employees are clueless, disrespectful, and inept. Apparently the only requirement needed for employment at this location is the ability to mouth breathe. This makes no sense at all. Another Lowe's just wasting space. Had to speak with 4 different associates in 45 minutes just to deliver my load, that they don't even have to touch! We do all the leg work, & still can't get someone to just count the product! Ridiculous! read more

I came to this store twice and had bad experiences. The cashiers and the employee's don't seem to know what to do. I would encourage you to stand clear from this store at all costs. I don't even live in the area of this store. I was going here since it was near my families house but its still no excuse for bad customer service. read more

Want to recommend Pete of Hammer Contractors who put in our chain link fence. He worked in the rain to get the job done. Friendly and knowledgeable person who was willing to help us by going the extra mile. This person is a worker and not afraid to do what it takes to make sure it is done right. Saturday Oct 1 2016 Lowe's flooring installers came to our house to pull up the buckled bathroom vinyl they had originally put down in Feb 2015 without putting a wax seal at the toilet flange leaving it leaking. They did not complete the job on the Oct 1st 2016 redo and left saying they would pull the Luan underlayment up and replace it after it dried. They left us hanging without a working bathroom. They left the toilet in the bathtub, bathroom and hallway doors off the hinges and the toilet hole uncapped stinking up the house. That was 5:30PM. They were gone before we noticed the toilet still in the bathtub. That was our only bathtub/shower. A call to Lowe's management resulted in someone being sent out to get it out of the bathtub and out into the bathroom floor. The quality manager came out himself and said, "If they don't tie my hands," we will rework Monday's install schedule to get that Luan up to dry the subfloor." He said, it would be fixed, "unless they tie my hands." By Monday we were receiving phone calls saying that they would not do that --that only a contractor could pull up the Luan that lays above the subfloor. They asserted that the Luan underlayment was "the subfloor" and that they wouldn't pull it up even though pulling up the vinyl AND Luan to replace it was what was agreed upon. They left us hanging in a most unprofessional manner and told us to get a contractor to finish up. So we will hang until a more professional contractor can get to it on Oct 24th. Although it had been difficult to get Lowe's to agree to fix it and scheduling the replacement installation had dragged on all summer, it was eventually agreed upon that Lowe's flooring installers would pull up the vinyl and underlayment and replace it. This was obviously an all day job, so it was scheduled to begin between 8:00AM and 10:00AM Oct 1st. After some phone calls they didn't show up until 2:00PM. They pulled up the vinyl about 5:00PM after installing hallway carpet for us. They left about 5:30PM without reaching a reasonable stopping point. Monday their management wouldn't let them finish "tying their hands." We had also complained to the installer about leaving the toilet leaking Feb 2015 and were told "I am not a plumber." Complaints to Lowe's went nowhere. We didn't have a leak or anything wet before we let Lowes in our house Feb 2015. read more
