Every time I'm here the staff is friendly. When they see me, they ask if they can help me find something or if I have any questions, but they never pressure me. If I could give them zero stars, I would. I have a 5 year Lowes protection plan that I'm trying to utilize for fridge repair without success. The protection plan does not have live people you can speak with, only a website with a chat function. I have a claim with an assigned technician out of Kalamazoo who has canceled/rescheduled three times now. I have called to speak to someone at this store 5 times this morning. The first time they put me on an eternal hold. I called back and asked for a manager, was transferred, and hung up on twice. The fourth time I called it rang and rang and the line went dead. The fifth time I was told the manager was busy and it would be over an hour wait time to get help. I asked for the district manager information and was told "I'm just a cashier answering the phone, I don't know who that is. I wouldn't know where to find that"... I called Lowes customer service and they said they don't have manager info, I have to call the local store to find out. I called Lowes corporate twice, was connected to someone in India both times, and both of those people hung up on me. DO NOT BUY THE PROTECTION PLAN FROM LOWES!! It's a total scam. Ever since I was a kid I have been dragged to Lowe's but now it doesn't take as much force.  When I was a teen i liked it because they had a streetpass relay at the store, although I believe they have gotten rid of that. I love the lights section.  They capture my ADD attention, because shiny.  They have a great variety of kitchen appliances, washers/dryers, paint, organizational tools, home decor and even lawn keeping equipment.  Their grills in the summer are always top notch. Their staff is always quick and friendly.  My recent visit I was waiting in line and the employee at the register, Linda, was patiently helping an elderly lady and she was able to do it quickly, moving on to us in only a few minutes.  Thanks Lowes for being awesome. read more

Will never do business again. Called them on an emergency basis because of a burst water heater. Specified size and location. They didn't ask for photos. Lowes contractor arrived, took a look, and refused to install the heater because he "thought" the wiring wasn't up to code. He didn't know. He didn't contact the township. He just wouldn't do the job. Told me I had to find out from my local building inspector. Additionally, they brought the wrong water heater. I needed a 40 gallon they brought a 50 gallon. When you tell someone "it's an emergency". They should ask for all the information they need not show up unprepared. At this point it's possible I'll be without hot water for a week or more. More time off work? Who do these people think their customers are? read more

Bought what I thought was a new stove from lowes yesterday and noticed the top was shredded alittle bit and when I asked the associate he said he had ripped it to make sure it was the right stove and sent me on my way! I go to install it in one of my rentals and there's a dead racoon in the bottom of the box and there's shit and debris all over from it trying to escape.. i have been in this business for 10 years and never saw anything like this be4 probably cause I choose manards but had ro go to lowes in a pinch... this is the last time they will ever receive my business I will take myself and my $15000 a month I spent elsewhere.... read more

There was a time back in the 2000's that I preferred Lowe's as my Home Improvement center, but they have gone to absolute garbage. Not that most items are 20% to 35% higher than other home improvement stores. But the larger items like appliances are competitively priced. Which brings me to my current complaint. Incompetence on the highest level. Rude. Had to pick up my own delivery. Was promised a discount and never received it. Just the worst service. Absolute crap. I would not buy something from Lowe's unless I had to. If I did not need clean and dry clothing the fours days earlier when I spent all that money on a dryer? I would have demanded a refund. Everyone I talked to tried to cancel my order. I asked when I would get my money back. I was given a total lie about discount that I did not receive. Then when I got a tuck there no one knew what was going on. It's one thing for me to be patient and understanding while the staff is rude and incompetent, but to promise a discount and then I show up and not a single soul knew why I was there or how to help. Aweful!!! They absolutely suck!! Signed a contract for one window with installation on Jan 20,2021. They came out and measured, and measured wrong! Ordered wrong size. Didn't know until it came in 6 weeks later and they went to install it. Had to reorder, and wait ANOTHER 6 weeks!! Finally came in and sitting at the store because they can't seem to deliver it for almost 3 weeks! Then have to wait for installer to install it!! THIS IS FOR 1 WINDOW. They could give two shits that I paid almost $1200.00, 4 months ago, and still have no window because it's been sitting at the store, 3 miles from me for 2 weeks!! Understaffed, yes. I've waited for a few minutes for assistance with an air conditioner and gave up entirely on help with a gas grill, but this was when Sears was still extant. Not an option any more. Installation affiliates, possibly--my one experience with this Lowe's was stellar: my husband and I had laminate flooring installed and the affiliate was prompt, skilled, and funny ("Do you know which room it is?" "The one painted in University of Michigan colors?" (We hadn't realized how bright the yellow and blue would turn out to be.)) That said, 98% of the time I've come in for gardening supplies and patio cushions/furniture, selected what I wanted, purchased it and driven away. Twas on the 28th day of July in the year 2018 of our Lord and Savior Cthulhu that mine and my father ventured into the maze like land of Lowe's. We sought supplies in order to remodel mine bathing chambers, as they had not be update since the year of 1973 when the original owner of my modest estate first built the homestead. After being lost in the plumbing district of the land of Lowe's for quite some time, a merry craftsman of the name Vincent, whose vest blazed with the insignia marking him a knight of the land offered his help to us, which was graciously accepted. The Lord Vincent spent nary an hour with us, making sure that we had what we needed to complete our quest and the knowledge of what to do in order to use the objects he passed on to us so that the spout of water for cleansing mine hands might work again in a more elegant manner with no danger of the waters diverting to my floor. I'm new to the S.W. Michigan area so I went to Lowes Benton Harbor to buy a lawn tractor. The guy that sold me the tractor (Bob) was great. But most of the rest of floor employees were under trained so even though they wanted to help and were friendly most didn't know how to answer normal questions or where to go to find answers. A management problem you see a big box stores to often. To few knowledgeable experienced floor personal, with little support from top managers. read more

I bought 5 new windows from Lowes and they installed them in my house in November 2015. Winter went by and in March 2016 I noticed one of them was leaking (a picture window!). I contacted the store and they sent the original installer back to take a look. It took him a couple of weeks and he said the installation was fine and that the problem should be a defective window. Then, Lowes contacted the manufacturer (Pella) and they scheduled for a representative to come and take a look. They re-scheduled the visit many times and it took him about 2 months to come over to my place. He said the window did not have any problem and that it should be an installation issue. Then, Lowes asked the original installer to come back and fix the installation. He came and just re-caulked around the window saying that there wasn't anything else to be done and that it should solve the problem. Well, it did not. I went to the store again and explained the problem. Then, they sent another company to evaluate my problem (All American Windows). They said it was a poor installation and that they told Lowes they would need to remove and completely re-install the window. It took some time for Lowes to pay them so it took a long time for them to show up. When they finally did, they did not re-install the window, they installed a rain cap on top of it saying it would definetelly solve the problem. Well, it DID NOT again! By this time (end of 2016) my case had already been sent to corporate and the assistant manager at the Lowes store told me there was nothing they could do for me anymore, that I should call people in corporate and walked away. I have trying to solve the problem calling corporate but no success. The person I was dealing with in 2016 does not work for Lowes anymore and my case is lost. In the last 2 months I have called them several times, talked to over 5 people that always say they will review my case and contact me in a few days but thay never did. This is really disappointing. I had another 6 windows replaced with Home Depot and I did not have any problem. I will NEVER do business with Lowes anymore. read more

Your Benton Harbor store is the worst I have ever seen in terms of customer service!! I've worked at Lowes in FL and our pro service desk was killing it. I was marketing, going out finding contractors to bring to the store etc. Here? I've been a contractor here for 14+ years and they don't even know my name!! You walk around that store and NO ONE will say hi to you. Welcome to Lowes, nothing! One day I went in there to get some cable and 2 Lowes employees were in the same isle. I took out 30ft of cable, measuring it all myself, cut it myself, and neither one bothered to ask if I needed help! Yesterday I had to wait 15 minutes for someone to walk from the isle over to help me load some drywall! Cashiers will not even open their mouth if you don't greet them first! The delivery wait time for appliances is totally unreasonable. For a new refrigerator, the closest date was 1 month from when we purchased it and date no longer worked for us. When we called to talk to the delivery department, they would not answer their phone. We talked to customer service, she was very rude and the next closest delivery date was 2 weeks out from the original date. We are going to pick it up ourselves. Let me just say the delivery guy was very nice but everyone else was trash. I ordered a washer and dryer and I called ahead before to make sure it was in stock and they told me it was. So I ordered it and the day before my delivery, I checked online to see what time it was coming and it said it had been cancelled. I called them and had to be transferred 5 times for them to tell me they don't know why it was cancelled. They told me they would call me back but they never did. So I called them the next day and they tell me it is out of stock and that is why it was cancelled. They couldn't tell me why I wasn't told it was cancelled or when it would be in stock. So I called the corporate number and they told me it actually was in stock and that they can deliver it next week. In the confirmation email, it said it would be deliveries between 7 am- 9pm. So I called them and told them I am not available in the mornings because I am in school and they told me to call back the day before my delivery. So I call them the day before and they told me I have to wait and call back the morning of the delivery (let me remind you this was a manager I was speaking to). So I call the morning of delivery and they said "you will have to wait until the driver calls you". So I wait for him to call me and I tell the problem and he told me that I should have not been told that information from the manager. They were able to deliver it but I would not recommend ordering from this location. read more

I'm new to this Lowe's store and the difference between this store and the Michigan City Lowe's is remarkable. I waited forever for someone to help at the appliance area and the lawn and garden area. It wasn't due to inattentive workers, they were helping others, but in my opinion, there weren't enough workers, or they were chatting about their own personal lives. When the appliance person had time to help me he was wonderful and helpful, but he was also stocking shelves, and there was only one person handling that area. Not cool when people are looking to purchase appliances! I was having a conversation with family and friends and they said even if you pay more, go to Home Depot! I did go there and they were amazing. But didn't have the grill I wanted. I went to Meijer and got it $60 cheaper than Lowe's! Also, the delivery on my appliances is 4 weeks out! Yikes! Now I have to spend money at the laundromat. Again, not cool! I did not get a deal at Lowes. read more

No notification when my order arrived (was supposed to get an email), then they were confused about where my order was for pickup, then got home and found 25% of my order was unusably damaged--good thing I ordered too much. When I called they only said, "you can return them." No apology at my project being delayed another two weeks because of their mishandling. I was trying to give them another chance. Will never shop there again. No managers to help employees when there is an issue. We bought a rug. We were told that it would be installed within three weeks. We waited 6 weeks only to be told the day of instillation that they didn't order enough rug. No one from lowes was going to tell us that no one was going to be at the house to install or that we were going to have to wait another 6 weeks. After spending four hours in the phone with lowes and talking to 4 different people I figured it out. The manager when we were going to be up to get our refund I told him 30 minutes-he went to lunch. But was on the phone with the worker we were dealing with asking how we were taking the news! Never again will we spend our money at lowes. I have called the installers 3 times in over a week to schedule and they are never available. This is not a unit for me, but if it was I would say give me my money back and would try out Home Depot.
