Went here over the weekend three times and I have to agree with others - the service here is very bad. When I say that, I am referring specifically to asking anyone a question in the garden center. Every question we asked - do you have watering cans, which seed should we use for grass, where are the tripods for watering - the answer was I don't know or just a shrug. Employees were gathered together near a forklift three at a time just talking together, not helping customers on a busy three day weekend! The good about this Lowe's- most of the cashiers in the return area and in the main area are kind and helpful. They give a military discount which is very much appreciated. I enjoy DIY projects and often shop at Lowe's for home improvement needs. Unfortunately, I have consistently had poor customer service experiences at this particular location. On my most recent visit, I needed assistance in the custom blinds department. After an associate called for help over the intercom, I waited about 10 minutes with no response. I found another employee, who made a second announcement, but after another 10 minutes, no one had arrived. When I asked for assistance again, the employee sighed, laughed while calling someone, and told me someone would be there shortly. When the associate finally arrived, the interaction was equally disappointing. I explained that I needed replacement blinds for a rental property and provided the measurements. When asked what brand I wanted, I explained I wasn't sure and was simply looking for guidance on my options. Instead, I was told they didn't have my size. After showing that the Lowe's app listed the blinds as available through custom order, I was simply asked if I needed anything else, without any attempt to help further. I left and purchased the blinds elsewhere. As a member of a military family, we relocate frequently and have shopped at many Lowe's stores. Unfortunately, the Columbus location has consistently provided the poorest customer service I've experienced. Many coworkers and friends at Columbus AFB have shared similar experiences, and several of us avoid this store whenever possible despite the military discount because the service is often not worth the frustration. read more

Bought a washer and dryer. Very pleasant experience. Told us it would be delivered Friday and they would call Thursday Used lowes card to get the discount. No call thursday. Now to fight with lowes to get my money back. Friday we were told: They called us and delivery would be two weeks out. They didn't Told they didn't have our number or email even though they texted and emailed. Talked to six customer service experts and were told it was their system then their policy and could only call if delivery was on schedule. Told me to call the 1 800 number. We did in front of the army of experts. 1800 girl asked me if i had called local store. I was standing there. 1800 girl asked if i had visited the store. Talked to five people at corporate all of which were sure i had done something wrong. I hadn't Asked 1800 girl to do what they committed to by calling nearby stores. 1800 girl told me that was my job. They offered to cancel my order at any time but i would have to call corporate for a refund. Was called "rude" because I didn't understand their policies. It would be 4 to 7 days before i could get a refund and my account would be credited. Real customer service girl took my phone and talked to 1800 girl. Heard her say rude. 1800 girl hangs up. Store "acting" manager said there was nothing he could do. Went A1 appliance in Columbus and bought an American made washer and dryer. As i type this 2 hours later they are installing the unit. A1 told me they appreciated our business and by the way, A1 services what they sell. read more

We order a washer and dryer online since September 07, 2023 and schedule delivery for September 09, September 11, September 13 and September 15, 2023 they set several deliveries times making my grandson to miss time from work 3 times. If I could leave zero stars, I would. I went into this store to get some of the 5 gallon containers of water. I am a small woman and asked for some help to get them into my car. The incredibly rude woman laughed at me and said 'we don't do that.' Really? This is the absolute worst Lowe's I have ever tried to shop in. At one time Lowe's was a good place to shop now I wish I could find another store to go to that has what I need!!! It's extremely hard to find someone to help you nobody seems like they want to be there nobody has the knowledge like they did when I worked at this store.. and it seems like nobody is ever working in the department I need to get something.. Hands down the worst Lowes I've ever been to in my life. Horrible, horrible customer service, they can't seem to correct their repeated errors (on orders), the manager is rarely available, the phone just rings off the hook, they're rude, no one wants to help, their delivery people absolutely don't call "30 mins before delivery" like they say (and I'm sorry but they smell horrible).... I can go on and on. Go to Starkville or Tuscaloosa people... avoid this place like the plague. read more

Called to speak with a manager about my delivery that I paid $79 for for it to be late by a day which is unacceptable because I never got a call from them that I wouldn't be receiving my delivery on my schedule date which caused me to miss work When I could've gone, and then I missed the next day at work waiting for their actual delivery even though my delivery date was scheduled the day before. So I missed out on about $200 of work days and when I called to complain to the store manager they offered me no type of resolution, should've been more considerate and refunded my delivery fee. Wanted a picnic table but needed to be forklifted down. Found the guy, waited, got it down (20 minutes). They had no tools (a pocket knife) so I cut the bands myself, turned and they had left so had to load a #150 table on the cart myself (10 minutes). Stopped to pay and wanted a grill also (20 minute wait for a guy to get the number as Garden Center cashier didn't have a scan book). Loading the table into the trailer (no one to help) the pieces fell out of the cheap packaging. Had to wait for a manager to unlock the grill (another 20 minutes). Got home and no bolts/instructions for the table. Customer service says the manufacturer has no replacement hardware and I could return the unit for another. I said, I'm supposed to waste 2 1/2 hours to get there and back ($30 in gas) and exchange it wasting an hour of a workers time also for a $10 bag of bolts (if it goes back it goes for a refunded). She is sending a request to the store to send me a bag of hardware from another package. We'll see. Columbus Lowes is always disorganized, plants in the Garden Center were wilted and dried out, why are picnic tables on the third level in the summer? Bags of rock/soil busted and sitting around. There are always carts with materials in the aisles and it is hard to push a buggy around much less the larger carts. I check the app and then the isle for stuff and it's not there and materials are often mixed in the bins as nobody sorts out stuff nor puts things away. You can rarely find a worker who knows where stuff is (white lady told me to "find the black guy" and walked away one time). I don't think they have a general manager so the section managers are missing also. Home Depot should build inside Clay County south of the City, a good location (pulling from 82, 45 and Alt. 45) and they wouldn't have to work hard to beat Lowes for convenience and customer service. read more

Went to the Columbus Lowes to look for an item their website said they had 4 of in stock. Couldn't get anyone to answer the call light. So I called customer service and stood there watching them ignore the phone call. Employee's walking around talking to other employees and no one offering assistance. I frequent this Lowes because I have no choice. I can honestly say I've never been treated so crappy by the people in the appliances area. My blood pressure is rising just typing this. The lack of customer service and the attitude of the employees are out of this world in a negative way. One guy in particular asked me "are you going to buy it" with an attitude when I asked him the price of a discounted washing machine. He then said I don't want to be walking back and forth to see the price and availability of it if you aren't going to buy it. I allowed him to get the price and left. I then went to a mom and pop place and bought a speed queen, (best washer made) instead. This bad experience was the first of the ones I've had that started about 7 months ago (when I moved here.) The most recent experience was when the same guy was sitting down complaining about still being at work out loud and making a comment effectively saying only another 30 minutes and these people will be gone so he can go home. He then looked up and saw us standing there looking at the cabinets and said I'm sorry you heard that. This is what I've seen thru out the entire store. Grrrrrr... Frustrates me thinking about this. If the other Lowes weren't an hour away one way...I'd never step back in. read more
