We came today to look for small spikes to hold down a carport. They had huge ones but lacked smaller sizes. We are moving so needed just a few things to be set-a welcome mat, an entry mat and an area rug. We have always considered Lowes to be a step up in the home improvement stores so we decided to stop by after going out to dinner. First thing when you enter is a HUGE holiday display. I usually am grumpy when stores put holiday goods out too early but this was really stunning. We found the carpet and rugs easily in the back center of the store. They have a good selection of really nice patterned area rugs and it was not long before we found out favorite. And we found the right size! Yay! We also found very nice entry rugs and though I liked the bright colors, we decided on a more distinguished brown and black one with a big Welcome on it. Then on to the entry rug-harder because it has to go with both the carpet and the area rug since it is nearby. But we found one we liked and think it will work. Luckily, Lowe's will let you return it if it doesn't. We are carrying all the rugs and get to a table by the checkout; I wait while my husband ran to go get a rake and trowel-which took a decidedly longer time than I thought it would! Then he comes back and wants me to come with him to see something. I was exhausted but he was so cute and excited because he found a holiday decoration he loved. We have lived on the road and in boats so this was the first year we will be stationary for a year (hopefully) so we picked out a few decorations that he loved. It was so nice to find most of what we needed very quickly. And those special touches we weren't looking for but will make our home festive and the holidays memorable. We were looking for something and a nice lady asked someone on the intercom for assistance for us. We went to the aisle we were suppose to go to and waited. A few minutes later we found what we were looking for and the assistance came by and shouted "who needs help?" We said we didn't need help anymore and James, the assistance said "I went from asile n to this asile for nothing?" He gave off the impression of us being a bother to him for doing his job. Then, he came up closer to us and as he was walking away, he basically told us to ask him a question just so his trip to the asile wasn't worth for nothing. We ignored him. The lady was nice. The one with all those Lowe's pins on her. Just not the guy who was rude. read more

If I could give this place negative starts I would. Went there for the first time only to get the worst treatment by Jacob. He was so rude. I asked for help and unfortunately he was the only one around. Long story short I inquired about an item on the floor since they are out of stock. He informed me there were expected to receive a shipment. And when I asked when, he was so rude and told me to wait that he was looking. It took everything inside me to stay calm and to tell him not to talk to talk to me like that, he ignored me and acted as though nothing happened. Never apologized or anything. Let's just say I will NEVER be returning to this store. I did complain to management and let's hope someone talked to him about customer service skills. read more

Went in Wednesday about 5:30 pm to buy a new washer and dryer. I had already decided which ones I wanted due to the online chat "help" person. I was out within 30 minutes for a delivery on Sunday. Third party delivery people came today and the washer was dented! They called Lowe's and were able to go and pick up another washer. Both washer and dryer were installed easily and the old ones taken for recycling. Good job Lowe's and the third party delivery team! read more

Love this store! I needed help ordering a refrigerator. Assistant Manager Fernando referred me to Linda in appliances and everything went perfectly. She was courteous and professional. Even though delivery date changed twice (not unexpected due to Covid), I was always informed via email. No problem. Day before delivery I received a phone call from Janet who gave clear details of delivery day. Everything was as expected. I was called one hour before delivery and they were right on time! Delivery guys were great as well; respectful, professional, they wore masks and were safe. I can't say enough good things about this purchase and experience. Attempting to contact with Lowes Customer Customer Service is nearly impossible. Apparently their telephone contacts are intermittent. You can dial almost any of their service numbers and never get a response. Totally pathetic. You need an interminable amount of patience and perseverance. read more

I went to buy a plant, the price sticker said $3 on clearance. I asked Victor the supervisor if the price was right, He said no! He said the price is $13 and that was a mistake on their part but all the other plants had stickers for $3 and $2 so I asked him about the other plants price tags and he responded by telling me that all those price stickers where wrong and he would not sell it to me for that price. He said they should be 1/2 off no more. I then got a plant I didn't want but I really wanted that plant for the clearance price. If they corrected the problem ASAP they wouldn't have a problem. I really think the supervisor should of stepped up and given it to me for the price advertised. To me that's false advertising and if he knows there's a problem he should solve it immediately because it affects us as clients. Went to lowes today, and remember why is it that I prefer Home Depot. It's always the same thing nobody knows anything. This is the second time I ask "Bill" a question and doesn't know the answer. We purchased a toilet at Lowe's in El Centro, CA, and we paid for the installation. The toilet was installed upstairs and after a couple of weeks, we had a water leak which caused extensive damage. We have had such a difficult time dealing with Lowe's and now with the Claims Adjuster Eric Fleming. It's been approximately 6 months and we have not received payment for the damages we had to pay a construction company to fix the damages. Very disappointed!! read more

I have always had a positive and friendly experience at this store. Also their delivery service for appliances has been excellent and quick. I always feel welcomed and once i find someone its easy to get help when i need it. The store is well laid out and its easy to find what i need. I would rather shop here than the home depot. I dont know how so many people have had a bad experience here based on the reviews. The 10 percent veteran or military discount is a great perk too. I come to get a pad for a cyclone 2200 cooler and the employee don't even know what it looks like. Magic comes over and says I'll be back because he's going to look it up. Then the employee comes back and says you need to go talk to the manager at the desk I guess he's too busy to come back to me. Where's the customer service here. I had my kitchen done through lowes and although cabinetry was installed correctly, I had a costly stove hood installed. One of the lights never worked correctly. The installer came in an messed with it and it work for a few weeks and went out again. I continued calling and he finally sent the message to Lowes. Lowes asked that I call the company Dacor directly. I did and they wanted me to pay for a tech from La Quinta to come out an take a look. Very upset as this was not a cheap product. Store manager does not provide the customer service his customers should receive. Says he will take care of problem, but instead avoids phone calls or says he's left the store for the day. My situation is I purchased a new toliet, commode. It was defective after installed, leaked at an apparent gasket site. Had my contractor return it and they said they could not return it because it was installed. How the heck are you suppose to know there's a problem like a leak if not installed!! So instead of replacing commander as indicated by Chris Jones they ordered a gasket which will take 3-4 weeks!!! Wow!!! A brand new unused commode and I can use it for a month, then pay my contractor to install, uninstall and install again....total BS! Beware Lowes has policies they don't disclose at purchase just when you return!! Go to Home Depot much better customer care and service!! read more

Terrible experience! We bought a water heater to have installed by them and paid for installation up front. They went to do the job and said it will be another $1200 for additional labor and parts. I wanted a refund on the initial installation charge and after they said it was done, it never happened and I had to call back to get it done. Worst Buying Experience! As I was shopping online for a BBQ grill, I see a side note that says free delivery and setup....great this is convenient for my busy schedule. BEFORE I order, I call the store (that's 5 miles from my house) to ask if I order this right now (8:30am), would it be possible to deliver today or the following day (Saturday). I was told they weren't sure if they could today, but for sure tomorrow. I said great, so when I place my order online, it will notify you right? Yep, and then we will call you. It's Saturday afternoon and no one has called me yet, so I call. The delivery guy did not know anything about my order at first and after giving me someone else's order information, he tells me it says contacted customer, ok to deliver August 6 (a week from my order date). I said well that isn't true and I'm not okay with that. So I'm already irritated by the lack of communication at the store and the delivery guy who lied to me the day before. I asked them if there was one built, I will send someone else to pick it up. Sure no problem, come by after work. I show up after work, again, no one knows anything about my order, the girl in customer service was rude and unhelpful. She said there were no built BBQs and she could charge me $75 to build one next week. I then, told her I was not paying for that because it was supposed to be delivered and setup for free to begin with 2 days ago. After calling her "manager" in Spanish thinking I couldn't understand, she told me they'll build it Monday and she would make a note to call me as soon as it's ready for pickup. No one called Monday, so I called AGAIN. I explained the situation and she left me on hold for 7 minutes so I hung up infuriated. At this point, I wanted to see how much worse the service would get. NOBODY ever called me ALL week until Friday night. The delivery guy said they will be delivering Saturday afternoon. Ok great, finally. When they dropped off the BBQ, a wheel fell off as they rolled it up the driveway. The side burner lid was missing bolts and all the delivery guy said was "oh ya, you should probably go over and check on everything before you use it." Are you kidding me!? I waited a week for you to build this and you can't even do it correctly!? I work in customer service and sales, and this is by far the worst experience I've ever had with such a simple purchase. No one should ever have to build their own grill and when they buy it, it shouldn't be falling apart. I will no longer buy anything from Lowes and will advise others of the same. I visited Lowe's with my mother and father and noticed a table toward the back of the store labeled "50% off the lowest marked price". This table had several curtain rods on it. I notice 2 beautiful white rods- same size, color, brand- duplicates. One was marked $29.00 and the other had a ripped box but wasn't labeled. This was Mothers day and my mom had been dying to replace hers so I immediately called her over- she loved them. I flagged down an associate, asked the price of the unlabeled as i showed him the table and the tag on the one highlighting they were identical. He kindly informed me that they would be the same price $29.99 as marked with the additional 50% off, they were the only 2 they had left. We grabbed them. Shirley assisted us at the register- I immediately experienced major rudeness from her. As i was entering my card through the new chip option it wasn't reading it- she was severely frustrated by this- she literally took my card and jammed it in telling me i wasn't pushing it in hard enough. In all fairness- it shouldn't be that hard to push in and if it was then maybe she could be a bit kinder about the special need of this particular machine. As i began to walk away i noticed that one rod was charged correct at the 50% off $29.99 however the second rod reflected 50% off $39.99. As i was showing her she literally ignored me at first as she was staring at my dad as if he was the next customer and not with me. He was silent at first as she was just staring blatantly ignoring me and then he muttered that he was with me and i had a question. She grabbed the receipt very rudely out of my hand and looked at it, returned it to me and stated that thats what they were coming up as. I began to explain the 50% off table and as i started the part where i had previously spoke to another associate about it she cut me off and stated "i don't know what table you are even talking about." It was obvious the situation was not going to be handled correctly with her so i asked if she would call someone for assistance. She stated she would call that department and see. As she picked up the phone i rushed to the back of the store and grabbed the paper stuck to the table indicating the 50% off and rushed to the front. Within that time she had told my father that the lady from that department said they are $19.99. As he was telling me - I showed her the 50% off paper i grabbed and began to lift the box of the rod to expose the price marked at $29.99. As i was doing so she rudely stated "like i told him they at $19.99". I began to explain to her that it didn't make sense to be marked $29.99 and come up as $39.99 and this all be a different price than even the lady from that department is quoting. She threw her hands up in the air like oh well. I asked if she could call a manage over. She literally ignored me and began ringing up the next guest items. The next guest even felt uncomfortable because although she was ringing up their items at the table we were standing at it. This was basically asking us to move along and them to move forward. I and my father asked 2 more times for her to please call a manager- she again ignored me. At this point she was refusing to assist us i started to walk back into the store to proceed to the Customer Service area and ask for the managers assistance. As i was walking past the line 2 other associates were watching- Francisco had seen the entire thing, he kindly approached me and asked "mam can i help you with something?" i explained and he asked me to come with him and that the manager would gladly help me or explain the table and/ or price. He brought me over to the service counter and called over the manager. Another customer was currently occupying the counter and he literally waited with me to ensure i was helped and that the manager did meet me. I cant even begin to explain how nice that was. He went above and beyond to help me. A manager came over and only required me to briefly explain the situation ONCE- he then refunded me the amount. Although i am grateful of the refund- its sad that it had to escalade before that could even happen. Its like Shirley was calling me a liar and refusing to honor a price that was marked by a company she doesn't even own to delegate the pricing of. I help my father manage 6 rental properties he owns and we literally ONLY ever use Lowe's. I must add that we LOVE Lowe's, aside from Shirley- everyone is ALWAYS willing to help and so kind at doing so. We are extremely loyal to Lowe's and honestly wouldn't have it another other way- but in order to keep that great reputation it might be in your best interest to reevaluate certain associates such as Shirley. I understand everyone has bad days but this day was Mothers day and this was an item for my mother- she could have set her bad day aside. Thank you. read more

i have been long term customers of both home depot and lowes. as the owner of a small building remodeling firm for 40 years. my experience with lowes of el centro is far superior to what i have experienced at home depot. i work with john and kim at the contractors desk most often. they are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. i would suggest that anyone with questions or a problem drop by that checkout area as it is where most big box builder supply stores have their most experienced employees. read more

well, I bought a freezer on line at the store In el centro . it had a delivery date on 6/3/14. on that date no freezer, after many phone calls , the store said they didn,t know where my freezer was but we have one in the store that's similar to the one I wanted and if I take it in exchange, they would give me a additional 10% discount, can,t get much better than that the problem with the store is they don,t keep you informed of the deliverys, suunday morning coming down and delivery date is today . we will see if they get it here without getting lost like the first one, do you think I should draw a map and directions from el centro to brawley? ha ha , just joking, lowes is my store and the employees is always very polite and helpful in many ways , what other stores offer our military a discount for their purchases.
