I wanted to buy an Ego leaf blower and saw online that the Gordonsville store had one on sale IN THE STORE for $169. I got there and could not find it for $169 and I showed her the sale from my phone from the web. She called customer service who said i could bring to customer service and they would match the price advertised for their store. I went up to pay and suddenly Michael who works in that department came up and started questioning where I saw the sale price. He told me that I probably saw it from another store outside of their district and the price could not be honored. He had ME go on my phone and find the price. I was with my dog and had an appointment, why could he not look on his phone? So i logged in finally and found the sale price and then he took several minutes to see if the model matched which of course it did. He was pretty rude and then I had to wait for a mananger to over ride the price and after 5 minutes I asked how long it would be and the girl at the register lacked any personality and simply said "he is with another customer" and I said "you must have another manager to override" and then they called Tracy who also had to look online which took some time and finally she said "we will match that price" and I said "you are matching your own price in your own store". I felt that Michael just came out of the blue and doubted everything I said, making me feel like I was lying. Also, Michael should of told Tracy that the price was indeed $169 instead of just standing there. I was probably inline for 20 minutes due to the incompetence of the front end customer service along with the rudeness of Michael. And this is exactly why people shop on Amazon, to avoid such incompetence and aggravation. read more

I ordered a small order of bagged gravel for day delivery to my home. Not only did it take a full week to be delivered but was delivered to the wrong address. Ramona with Lowe's support was unable or unwilling to do anything to either refund the cost, retrieve the misplaced order or send a replacement order. Now I'm out both my money and the gravel. This is hands down the worst Lowe's I've ever shopped at. For starters, I've heard and experienced Laura, a cashier, berate military members on more than three occasions yet she's still employed there even after being reported. Her attitude is disgraceful! Secondly, if you come to this location and need any sort of assistance you'll be hard pressed to actually receive it as almost every employee is standing around talking with other employees disregarding customers. The aisles have so much stuff blocking them that you can hardly get the rickety carts (if you can find one) down the aisles. There are two employees that do a great job at this location. One is Sequoia and the other is a gentleman who loads vehicles for customers. I wish I got his name but I couldn't see it on his vest. Today was my last time at this location, I'd rather drive an hour than to support a company that disrespects veterans. I have had some mixed results with Lowe's. Generally I enjoy shopping here. The curbside pickup was quick and easy to use, although I did have to call the number twice to get connected. I once ended up with a gallon of paint that was mixed incorrectly, but customer service was quick to return and refund it. Also wish I could find a screen door that didn't look like it was run over prior to being placed on the shelves. On another occasion it took quite a while to get assistance with an item stocked on higher shelves. Otherwise there's a large selection and I almost always find what I need. read more

The flooring team at the Zions Crossroads has been absolutely unprofessional from the beginning of our (attempted) flooring project. From never having an associate available anytime I call, never responding to emails - they tell me to call back in an hour to speak with an associate who is on break, only to tell me they weren't working that day when I called back. I ordered flooring material on April 2nd, never heard back from Lowes that the material had arrived, instead receiving a call from a separate installation contractor who scheduled the installation for memorial day. It took a week just to schedule delivery of the materials, only for them to sign me up for the one delivery timeslot I said I would not be home. We STILL managed to make it work so we would not have to reschedule installation, moved our memorial day plans with my father who is a veteran, moved furniture and prepared everything only for the installation team to arrive and inform us that the order was incomplete, that Lowes had known the order was incomplete and had ordered the missing materials three days ago without ever informing us or the installation team, and had wasted everyone's time scheduling an installation they knew could not be completed. Jesse, the flooring manager, has not responded to my calls or emails. Corporate informed us that they cannot offer any sort of refund until after the project has been completed, but will not advise when that will be, and that they will charge us a 20% "restocking fee" for materials we never even received if we attempt to cancel the project, despite every error having been on their end, and their own store lying to us. If you are going here for something off the shelf that doesn't require any human interaction, you're fine. This is why I am giving it 2 stars instead of one. If you want more than that, go elsewhere. Here's why. Sept 18 I ordered a washer online. It was scheduled for delivery Oct 3. Oct 4 I got a call saying that it was back ordered. They said they'd let me know when it got in. Nov 1 I checked on it. Still back ordered. The week before Thanksgiving, someone called to say it was recalled, did I want to order something else or get a refund. I elected for the refund and thought that was the end of it. Two weeks later, another person called to ask the same thing. So apparently the first guy didn't cancel the order! This time I got an email and phone call confirmation. So, it took almost TWO MONTHS to not get a washer. I bought a shower door that I wanted installed. They charged me $35 for someone to come measure the opening. That involved a long drawn out process that took almost 2 months for me to end up with nothing again. The whole time, they kept acting like *I* was dropping the ball. Every time I called, they'd transfer my call without telling the other person who I was or why I was calling, so I'd have to start all over again EVERY TIME. There were way too many people involved in the transaction. The right hand had no idea what the left hand was doing, so talking to different people, starting over with every conversation, and being blamed for things not moving was incredibly frustrating. Anyway, I have zero faith in Lowe's ability to handle a delivery, return, install, or anything that requires that they do more than find a product or ring up a sale. read more

Ordered a washer and dryer from this location, delivery was backed up bc of covid( understandable) however, we were guaranteed delivery on on 7/24. Delivery calls and says we'll be there between 1-3. 3:30 passes we call and he says oh sorry we got hung up on a previous job be there by 5. I call at 5:30 the delivery guy says he doesn't have the washer or dryer, lowes told him it was on backorder. The delivery guy lied about having the washer dryer. Called lowes and they admitted they sold it to someone else (after being on the phone for 2 hours). Talked to two managers (one bring Mike) and didn't have any reasoning why it got sold after we had already paid for it. So we cancelled our order and will order from best buy. We purchased windows for our home on December 14, 2020. At the time seemed to be a really good deal. Our home is old and windows are old so when they told us if we pay NOW in full we could have them installed within 3-4 weeks. Well it's been scheduled and rescheduled, and now our installation is scheduled for April 14th, 4 months after the paid in full order and 2 months pasted their promised installation. Staff doesn't understand the urgency of some customers time. I waited at cust. Ser. for several minutes while two hens cackled about how to call someone. Myself and business I work for spends well over $100k at Lowes annually. There's no way they could know that, but there is a customer standing right in front of you. Who obviously has a question or wouldn't be there. Do not buy anything with curbside pick up from Lowe's, ever. If you were concerned about COVID-19, and you need anything that Lowes sells, buy it from Amazon. I just sat in the parking lot for 31 minutes with the phone ringing continuously and they just did not answer. I called the curbside pick up extension. I called the front desk extension. And then I called every other extension in the store for every other department. Zero answers for 31 minutes. I finally pulled up next to the garden center and yelled to a guy about what was going on, he apparently called the front desk, and then they answered. Lowes does not respect you. They are a monopoly. There's no other store like them in the area. And they know it. They know that they don't have to think about customer service. Because they think that you don't have any other options. Buy it from somewhere else. I ordered a refrigerator online and a duplicate order was sent to a Lowe's near my old house, and I had to pay for it even though the new homeowner of my house did not accept the faulty delivery. I noticed the wrong address and was assisted by Lowe's tech support and cancelled the order right away, changed the address and deleted the order and then started over with the correct address. Lowe's fairfax must have not gotten the deleted order. The delivery people there called me TWICE and both times I said, "no deliver" and yet they did try. Then, the refrigerator went back to their warehouse or was stolen. No help from Chase credit card in resolving the issue in my favor and Lowe's no help either. I presented a great deal of proof yet no help. They lost a customer for life and I'm out 2,590.94. read more

I ordered online for a pickup the next day. I pulled up into the curbside pickup area and called the number that was on the sign, never an answer and after numerous tries I had to go into the store as I was out of time. I went to the pickup area and waited and waited. Only one employee there so I patiently waited, a couple of people in the customer service line adjacent to the pickup line. A new employee came into the area and asked who was next. I told her I was just there for a pickup and no one would answer the phone and she proceeded to say in a loud voice that I had to get into the back of the line, by then it was about 6 deep. I reminded her I was for a pickup that had been paid for, not returning anything. She again, in a very loud voice told me to get into the back of the line. I asked to speak to a manager and she shouted SHE WAS the manager!! By that time another employee had heard most of this and asked me if he could help me, I gave him my info and problem solved. I have dealt with Lowe's for many years and have never been treated the way I was today. If the manager "Jen" is the indication of "customer service" this store will never get another dollar of mine. I've had extremely terrible experiences with other Lowes previously to the point where I swore off the whole company completely until we moved here last June. We've had issues where it had to be escalated to the head manager of customer service in corporate and almost had to take them to court. There is no Home Depot anywhere within two hours of my house here and Lowes is 30 min away, so we caved and started shopping at Lowes for our new house. We have never had a bad experience at this Lowes in Gordonsville. They have great customer service once I am able to locate someone who works there, which could be the only struggle. We've always been helped quickly when we've needed it (at this Lowes) and the people working there always talk to me about my dog when we bring him. I wish some of their pricing was less, but there isn't much that can be done about that. read more

Edited review to reflect how terrible I think this place is. The main two problems I have is that they advertise free next day delivery and don't actually deliver anything the next day. My Parents bought our drier as a moving gift and it took almost two weeks to get delivered, and our washer is scheduled to be delivered in just about a week. The sign may indicate in small print that it's only for certain items, or whatever magical requirements need to be met (planets must be aligned on a friday the 13th may as well be what it is because I've never seen anything qualify for it). However it is extremely misleading as the sign for free deliver was basically a small post card located directly above the washing machine we bought. So whatever legally weaslery they practice is just bullshit in the end so they can post something in the store that looks nice. So fuck that. The second problem I have is that I read online they do a 10% discount for veterans, which sounds great. But again it is only for active duty or retired military. This is fine, I only did 4 years so I can go fuck myself, but the problem is that when I called and asked if there were any disqualifications I was told there weren't. I was told it applied to all veterans and just needed to bring in proof of my service. If I was told before hand I wouldn't have been disappointing when I went into buy it. Went to exchange clothing hooks at customer service and had the receipt. I was told that they had already been returned for a full refund (????). I said that's impossible, I just got them for Xmas and my mom gave me the receipt in case they were the wrong ones. He said he would "re-enter" the info and check again. This time it didn't say they had already been returned. No apology, I was just given a cash refund instead of doing an exchange for the one I wanted. I find it very hard to believe that their system said the hooks had been returned and then, voila!, The system said they hadn't been returned (??) that doesn't make any sense. If I could give this store 0 stars I would. I wish I would have come to Yelp first after seeing all the negative reviews. Assistant manager, Peter was the most rude, condescending, arrogant child I have every dealt with and I'm 57 years old. I was raised with my family owning 3 appliance/tv stores and our whole family grew up inside of them. Lets just say I know a little bit about customer service, and how to treat people. I like Lowes and they run some good promotions and most of their stores are aware and updated on them. But this guy leaves a really bad taste in our mouth about every coming to any Lowes store again! This is the first Yelp review I have ever left! After submitting a verbal complaint with Lowes corporate (over an hour), and leaving feedback on the Lowes website I still feel I need to leave something here. Here's my experience: This store and no associate in it knew anything about a currently running promotion and when Peter was asked to look for it he acted as though we were wasting his time. 20 minutes later we are in the managers office trying to find this promotion and he was clearly not interested in looking for it because he did not think the promotion existed. This promotion has been running since the beginning of March and runs through the end of April. He didn't even know what to look for or how to look for it! When he finally found it, he printed it out and in his childish way handed it to me and said "here you go". No, sorry it took so long, sorry I didn't know it existed, etc. Nothing. Peter was unwilling to apply the promotion to over $700 worth of product. He claimed it was on clearance and the promotion did not apply but clearly it was not. This resulted in us returning that $700 and not purchasing an additional $400 that was on the promotion. The return desk lady was nice and tried to work with us but Peter would not allow it. Actually, a Lowes isn't a Lowes, since the one in C'ville has had a decade-long reputation for horrible service. With no Home Depot between Wanyesboro and Short Pump, they seemed not to care. Then the Lowes in Ruckersville opened, and was staffed with people lacking the attitude. Worst story: I bought an item and found it was lacking an essential part. Took it back, but there were no more on the shelf. Waited a week, went back, and bought one in a box that had been taped closed. Sure enough, it was the one I had returned! This time I took it back, explained the issue and wrote "Missing part" on the box. Still no others in stock. A week later, the item is back on the shelf, clearly labeled "Missing part"! NO ONE CARED. That said, over the last year, the service has improved, and they have made efforts to be helpful in the store. Still wish we had a Home Depot. read more

The worst anti military company that I've ever dealt with!! After have serving in the military Lowe's policy is 10 percent to veterans and active military members. Only after Home Depot had been doing the discounts 4 years prior! We went and purchased a $2000 stove either the 10 percent discount it brought it down to $1800 and with the tax back up to $1900. During the checkout at the customer service desk we were informed that we could take an additional 5 percent off (which would have covered the tax or 12 months free financing. So we decided to use our Lowe's cared and save an additional 5 percent since we had planned paying it off immediately. But oh no the asst manager realized that this was so call double dipping. I responded that I was purchasing s range and not A ICE CREAM CONE! I didn't want to make seen so I waited until returning home and contacting Lowe's customer service. Again with the same response. So once again I contacted the store and asked to speak to the manager. And who do I get Miss Personality (pam) who could care less about loosing a long time customer who has spent over $29,000 in the past year at their store for remolding projects. It's not the $90 bucks but it's the principal. What does me using me using their card and receiving a 5 percent have to do with anything regarding my military discount. I could have easily used my discover card , immediately paid it off and gotten $90 back at the end of the year. I don't know who made this call but if they had any finically knowledge they would see it's costing them more in lost of interest at 18 percent over a 12 month period than providing a 5 percent to a veteran. I have been informed that my hours are reduced to only 16 per week without my consent. This is not the time of year to be screwing over customer level employees. This company will suffer for this.
