It is a typical Lowe's store. The selection is huge. Cleaning products, lumber, tools, paint, you know they carry so many brands. Pricing is the same as many chain home improvement stores. There is nothing special or bad about pricing. Service is what it is. So many Lowe's no longer have cashiers. That to me is a joke, but hey who am I to judge. Oh yeah a customer. There are two Lowes in town, I prefer this one because there's a bit slower vibe, people take the time to be more helpful and friendly. Not that the other location is bad, only because it's in a busier part of town and gets more traffic. The whole area where this Lowe's is located has newer stores and restaurants nearby, which adds to the preferred location. I can always find what I need, the restrooms are usually clean (and up front), and the store is always picked up and well-stocked. read more

Be careful when ordering online and then choosing ship to store. If you do ship to store, pick a different Lowes other than the Yopp road one. I ordered a holiday item and chose to ship to this store to avoid the shipping cost. Got a confirmation the order was ready. Arrived at the store only to find out the item was gone. The sales associate confirmed the item had been made available as she was the one who put it in holding but suggested another employee took it to buy for themselves or to sell to someone else. Nothing like making a trip to pick up a holiday item (that is no longer in stock) only to find out the employees can't be trusted. And then for the cherry on top, my order was treated as a "Return". How is it possible to return something that was never received? Take this as a precautionary tale and avoid dealing with the associates at the Yopp location. read more

Just like everything else in Jacksonville there's only 2XL and small for clothing, the fact that the prices are not as advertised carhart sleeveless jacket says 79.99, when I got to register it rang up 89.99 so they charge different for the sizes but you have the medium price posted......perfect example of laziness, if you priced it accordingly people would not purchase them..... small, medium, large, extra large, and 2XL make them separate so consumers know the actual price and are not surprised when they get to the register.... First let me say I'm a woman and I hate being sent to lowes looking for man parts in a man based store lmao. Tools and things are French to me even with pictures in hand lol. This store genuinely is one in town I prefer. The employees are helpful and knowledgeable enough to get you where you need to be. I went in for nails and saw blades you'd think ok Simple go In the nail section and saw blade section.. not for lack of trying on my own but I literally did laps around the store. 2 very nice employees in camo lowes vests came to my aid before I got so frustrated I'd bust in tears lol. I don't like asking for help because I'm a woman but sometimes you cut time in half looking if you just ask. They were great and today I was very grateful for the help. read more

One star is by far more impressive than these assholes. If I could take away I would. I went in to buy a grill this afternoon. It was my fault for not opening it before I took it, but once I unloaded it to our backyard I opened it up and it looked as if someone put a whole bag of dirt inside plus left empty bud light cans inside. Makes me wonder who's drinking on the job. Also when I called to switch it out they told us to load it back in my truck (just myself and my wife) and then bring it back. Customer service had attitudes the whole time and two men in their late 30s to early 40s made rude comments while very roughly reloading the new grill into my truck. Was not easy on the grill and if I'd already had my bed resprayed they'd be paying for the scratches they added in my bed. Not customer friendly at all whatsoever. 100% most immature and irresponsible group of employees I've ever experienced. To add to things we just found that with the grill we just bought we also got a power washer. The power washer didn't have the gun on it.(this was supposed to be with the purchase) It is very upsetting that staff feel obligated to be rude when their actions are way out of line. If the would have responded in a nicer way and apologized it would be another story. They act like assholes when their staff is to blame. read more

My friend and I went to this particular Lowes and had a wonderful experience. She needed to replace a cabinet and I needed some no skid tread for my walkway. My friend had a cabinet that the paint was peeling on... It is for a home that she rents out and it was important that it was replaced immediately. It turns out the company stopped manufacturing that particular cabinet. The kind people at Lowe's willingly exchanged hers with the floor model. For my purchase I needed some tread or something because the walkway to my home is extremely slippery with the Morning Dew and especially when it rains. Two people worked with me on several ideas involving outdoor carpet but I ultimately decided to purchase the tread. I've purchased tried before but it peels up. They talked with me about using a staple gun to ensure that it stays down. Overall, we had a wonderful experience this day from the moment we walked in until the moment we left read more

Went to get a riding lawn mower this morning. They didn't have the one we wanted which is understandable during these times. We asked the associate to look up a few others we were interested in to see of they were close by. We found 2 others that were in stock at western blvd. After the associate looked up the ones we were looking at and said they were on western Blvd. We asked, are you sure? before we drive across town.. the reply was "yes". We asked, Do you want to call and check? "No need too" was the reply. Are you sure both mowers are there. Again we got a yes. We get to Western Blvd lowes . They associate there says none are in stock. 2 of them go to the back and check. 15 mins later . We get told The mowers were there. However unsellable?? One had a flat tire, one had been driven, and one was missing a seat. This could of all been avoided if an employee would of picked up a phone and communicated. Also if a mower is unsellable. Not gonna lie: I normally love shopping at Lowe's, and have spent boat loads of money at this store. I always considered them professionals until I booked them to install laminate flooring. After arguing with me about several unnecessary upcharges to their advertised low price, I left, only to be called by an employee before I left the parking lot to explain that they would do the job as I asked. The morning of the job, the contractor called to say they couldn't make it that day, then called 20 minutes later to say they could. After the job the contractor had more than 10% extra flooring leftover. Flooding that I'd paid for materials and install on. Additionally, they failed to replace my laundry room doors. A call to the Lowe's that ACCEPTED MY MONEY yielded an employee expression acceptance of bad publicity(this review), rather than solving MY problem. read more

We bought a new fridge on sale and have two complaints: 1. I was told I could not use the military discount because it was on sale. Don't say you support the military and then add the fine print and say" Not on sale items." 2. Delivery is just a plain joke. Waited a week for delivery, had a scratch on the door. Lowes uses a 3rd party for delivery. No one coordinates between the store and the delivery company and you get pot luck. They both blame the other for the mess up. Although the inside of the store is organized and clean, I was disappointed with the lack of variety in the plant section. I know fall is upon us but I was looking forward to finding some indoor plants. The inside of the store has a nice selection of Halloween lighting and decor that you can choose from. It's always refreshing when you can go to a Lowe's and find someone that knows a little about the project you want to work on, but even better when that someone has worked in that field for over 20 years! I am a contractor who shops here almost daily. I sometimes spend upwards of $10000 per month in this location. On the most part, this is my favorite Lowes location. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and friendly. However, my most recent experience rubbed me the wrong way considerably. I went in last week to buy some 12' quarter round. They were out of stock on the individual sticks (I needed 11) but they did have the 20 pack. Rather than just break one open and buy what I needed, I got an associate to inquire if it was ok for me to do so. He said I could not do that but I could buy a 20 pack and return what I didn't use. Now then, I return things all the time at Lowes and have never had an issue. THIS time however, customer service told me they could not take them back as it has to be an entire pack. I explained what the guy told me in that department and she refused to accommodate me. I went to the front register where there is usually a manager in the office and re-explained my situation to the cashier. She was a deer in the headlights. I then asked for a manager. Instead the cashier beckoned 2 approx 20 year old girls (not managers) for me to re-re-explain everything. I was told that I cannot do that. I then posed the question as to why after a Lowes employee told me it was ok, why am I now receiving an issue. One of the girls asked me if I knew who I spoke to in the molding section. I retorted that I did not know his name but I remember his face and if I go through the effort to locate him and have him corroborate my story, can I then return them? She told me NO. I began to ask why she would pose such a query if the outcome would not change for me but I could see the glassy look in her eyes and knew I would be beating a dead horse. I could have ( and should have) been accommodated. I should have been provided with a manager when I asked for one but was refused. Seriously, they could have simply taken my 9 pieces of material and put them back on the shelf for resale (especially since they have trouble keeping them in stock)! Instead, not 1 or 2 or 3 but 4 employees were content to stick me with $80 of unneeded materials. I imagine I will use them soon and so I will survive. I guess I was just used to excellent service and am very surprised so many of the employees did not have the gumption to speak to a manager to help me resolve it. read more

My first experience was buying paint & an excellent employee named Dennis gave great service & didn't try to sell us on extra useless stuff. I appreciated his honesty when I asked if would need this & even offered me lower priced items to cater to my budget. Another example of great service was from Jess at customer service. My husband opened a curtain rod set & it was the wrong one from another set that we purchased, yet she still accepted it. Not only that, we brought in 2 receipts & didn't have the right one for it but she still gave us store credit back. Lowes Store #2737 Yopp Road in Jacksonville N.C. After receiving okay customer service, I was led to believe that I wouldn't have an issue with getting my grill I purchased to my home. After about a week with a delay of communication there was an issue. I was so angry and frustrated to say the less, BUT Billy (Assistant Store Manager) ensured that he would handle the situation. And that he did. After calming me down he took care of the issue FAST, and PROFESSIONAL. He had his associate Melton to further assist. Melton went beyond to ensure that he carried out the request of the Asst. Store Manager. Both men were OUTSTANDING displayed excellent customer service and are great examples of what that store really needs. Thank you both for changing my mind about Lowes. read more

This review is for their flooring department-if I could rate no stars, I would. We got laminate flooring installed through them (they contract out to Legacy flooring). We began this ordeal back on June 10 and it did not get completed until August 9. Since I know people don't read long reviews, I'll summarize. Estimate was done wrong twice, quote was done wrong twice, laminate flooring was dropped off in the garage (needs to be indoors to acclimatize), floor plan that was given to Legacy from Lowes was wrong-again-and it led to us having to pay for another box of flooring to fix their mistake, transition strips were wrong (3 shades lighter than flooring), install crew was nice and professional but didn't speak a lick of English and we had to call their boss to translate, white quarter rounds were used throughout the job-even under cabinets where there were no white running boards, and there was only one person with half an ounce of competence in the flooring department to resolve the issues-when it wasn't his day off (which he got two of per week). I would not recommend doing flooring through Lowes no matter how cheap they are for install-it's not worth the headache! read more

The subcontractor the Lowes Home Improvement on Yopp Rd in Jacksonville NC uses for their flooring installation is the absolute worst! I bought and paid in full weeks ago, full carpet and installation to be installed today. I even received the courtesy calls reminding me of the installation and preparations prior to. You would think in two weeks someone would have noticed a schedule conflict. I receive a phone call the day of installation that the installation been cancelled and then couldn't be installed until 3 weeks later. Phone call after phone call reveals no help whatsoever from Lowes or the subcontractor. I personally like the Lowes store itself but the contracted services is horrible. Save yourself some major headaches and don't use their services! read more

As much as I love lowes and as much as I shop and buy things I was greatly disappointed today at this particular location. I'm an active duty service that attempted to use his mylowes card to recieve a military discount. At the counter the cashier said that I needed to link my card at the customer service desk. So my friends and I went there and waited in line patiently. Once we got to the counter the first representive acted as if she didnt even want to help me. I had explain what I was trying to do three times. While this was going on one of my friends tried to engage another representative that wasnt doing anything about employment opportunity for his wife. She flat out ignored him at first and then started talking to him as she started to walk away. The representative working with me finally understood whatbI was trying to do but had an attitude like she was angry with me. I calml explained that I was directed to her by her fellow employee. She finally linked my card and didnt even say goodbye she just spun around and walked off. This is rudest episode Ive had in a very long time and I dont know if that is a reflection of the store and their policies, if it was because I was military, or if it were because my friends and I were black. In either case no one at a customer service section should be treated like that. read more

Lowe's Home Depot on Yopp Rd in Jacksonville, NC sent out and installer and bid a job to install vinyl in our master bathroom. They sent our their own people to look at it. Their installer no showed us the first time and I had to call to reschedule. The second time I was given a call that they are refusing to do the job. The reason is we have a sink that has a granite counter top and they don't want to be responsible for any damages to it. They said if we hire another contractor to remove the sink then they will do the job. This was part of the original bid and we already paid them for the job. We have waited several months to get this done. This is highly unprofessional. I even contacted the manger Paul at the store and he couldn't get the contractors to cooperate. read more

Beware of flooring installation estimates from Lowes on Yopp Road.. The company come out measured etc. Lowes called me and said it would be $2052 of which labor was almost $1200. I went back to Lowes and asked about the labor cost. They said they could not lay over ceramic tile and it had to be removed. I called Shaw ( who makes their flooring I wanted ). Shaw said as long the tile was in good shape no problem. I returned to Lowes and they gave me a written estimate for $1596 and would send someone out to check the clearances. The company come by, walked around took pictures again. Lowes called me and said it would cost $2292 now because they would have to " level" the floor. I talked to a manager, the supervisor of flooring and Lowes district contact for installation. They said it was all a miscommunication. They could not explain the written estimate. Estimates over the phone are subject to be misunderstood but written estimates should be honored. read more

They had several products that were heavily used, damaged and returned and the packages were taped shut and they were trying to resell them. They had items price listed at a third of what they actually cost so when you ring up the product you are paying more than what is marked and when it was brought up to the customer service department they treated us like we were the ones who did something wrong. read more

Very helpful and polite. Each employee was very willing to help but could not get the support needed at times. For instance I purchased a new grill but I wanted one still in the box because all the pre built ones were broken or rusted from being the displays in the rain all summer. I asked an employee if they could get one in the box for me and she was happy to help but it took 20 min for her to find a forklift driver. Then after checking out I needed a fresh propane tank. I waited another 20 min for the one person who was able to open the propane cage. They were apologizing but I didn't mind. It was a busy day! read more
