In Eastern NC. Good luck getting any help. Use to be my go to, now you can not even get a cashier to ring you up. I left without making a purchase because while dozens were waiting to check out, no cashiers, only 4 self check outs and one person running that. I left my purchase, I asked the "manager" she said that corporate wanted it like this, she didn't like it but had no choice. Corporate needs to do better. I went to Ace Hardware, they helped me get exactly what i wanted, rang me up, and God bless us all, took it to my car and said Thank You. Cost me a few extra dollars, but got treated like a human being. read more

With this being the closest Lowe's in the Kinston area (and only), we've frequented this store several times. Every time we've been, we've been greeted by staff. They've been courteous and of they see us on the floor either looking around or walking, they make sure to ask if we need any assistance. We once had to buy wood and have it measured, and the associate who made the cut for us was kind and respectful. Another associate in the glass section, older gentleman, was very knowledgeable in helping us make our final decision on what glass we'd need for a coffee table we had. When we went looking for boxes, a manager was able to assist us on the subject. Customer service here is well. Also, of course, the store is very well lit, the parking lot is neat with adequate parking, the area is safe, and the inside is kept clean, with the occasional boxes laying around if they're in the process of stocking the shelves with inventory, which is a good thing. So two weeks ago my husband was here and loaded 40 bags of river rock onto his pallet with two employees just sanding looking on. No one offered help, they just sat around twiddling their thumbs. Same thing today. He was loading up 50 pavers while employs looked on. Just sttttaaanndding around. What are these idiots getting payed for? It's not for customer service that's for damn sure. We'll just make the trip to the location in New Bern from now on. read more

Needed some flooring and this was the closest Lowes to me that had it (about an hour away). I called ahead and had them verify stock before going. Got there and could not locate what I was looking for. Waited for about 5 minutes and never saw an employee. All the while the automated "help needed in flooring" was playing over the loud speaker. Talked to a guy who had been there over 20 minutes already waiting for someone to cut carpet. Finally went to the front and got a a manager. She and 2 other employees has to manually search the store and found it in the plumbing department. Waited another 10 minutes for the forklift to to get the pallet down. Got to the register where only 1 cashier was and I was 10 deep in line. After about 10 minutes of having no help, the cashier finally called for back up. Got to the register and the flooring would not ring up. Needed another manager (another 10 minutes). By the end of it, I had spent nearly 2 hours in the store trying to get 7 boxes of LVP. Hope to never need to return to this location. read more

I went into the Kinston NC store to purchase a garbage disposal Saturday May 2 2020. Upon arriving at the register to bay for my purchase I presented the item to the cashier along with a gift card and my Lowes credit card. While I was retrieving my military ID in order to receive my discount the cashier proceeded to ring up my purchase. She used the give card and told me my balance at which time I had my military ID on the counter. She told me that she could not give me my discount due to the fact that she had already started the transaction. I then ask her to cancel the transaction and refund me my money on another gift card which she refused to do. She told me that I would have to go to Customer Service for that. I ask to see a Manager and she refused that request also. I feel that I received very substandard service from this employee and the Kinston NC Lowes store in the way I was treated. read more
