I've reached out to customer care and Lowes in Michigan City, IN, Lowes Corporate, and the Better Business Bureau without success. I have not received cooperation. Here is my story and I need help. On 9 19 22 I made a purchase of a patio door for $4243.39 and screen for $222. 58 at Lowes In Michigan City, Indiana. Invoice number 59630349. We were told it would be 4 to 6 months for delivery and install. We finally received a call that delivery and install would be January 10, 2023. I missed a day of work for the install. The installers arrived January 10 and said they could not install that day because they didn't have the correct j point. They rescheduled for February 10. This time my spouse took the day off. They removed my entire door. Then they discovered they brought the WRONG door! They put the old one back with a broken latch, missing trim, and the door would not open! The allignment was off and the door was loose. My house is a new build from 2020 and the installers damaged my home! The installers left on February 10 and said someone would be in contact from Lowes. That evening at 630pm, my husband and I went to Lowes in Michigan City, IN. We spoke with Josh and Rahjda Assa who stated they were store managers and they said they very sorry and that we would be financially compensated for the damage to our home as well as for our inconvenience. Especially, since we lost 2 days of work. We were told they were reporting it to another manager and that we would receive a call on Saturday, the next day, February 11. At 930pm on February 10, I received a call from another manager named Ashley who stated the installers would be contacting me by Monday, February 13th before noon to setup a time to come fix the damage to my door and outside trim. No call was received. I called the store at 1246pm and asked for Ashley. I was told she was not available. I left my number and asked for a return call. My husband called at 2pm and waited on hold for 45 minutes before speaking with Ashley. She told my husband that financial compensation for this colossal mess was something she did not think was possible. R AND J installers came a few days after and placed chaulk on the door but it is still broken. It would not open, the latch was broken and there openings in the siding outside which were exposed to the elements. I received an email from customer care that said we would receive a response in 48 hours. I did not. I sent an email to the Better Business Bureau and a few days later received a call from Ethan Winkler from Lowes Corporate office a few days later who stated he would be our primary contact and would help us resolve our issues. Ethan and I have been exchanging calls and emails since February. I have saved everything. He stated with every phone call that he would work with us on obtaining a full refund. He promised. And I am sure if you summons the calls from his recorded lines at Lowes, that you will hear him say this. Our install was completed on 5/9/2023 8 months after purchase. We lost a total of 4 days of work, our house was damaged and exposed to the elements. Our old door also would not lock which was also a safety issue for us during the weeks of waiting. Ethan called me today and offered me $275. He promised the entire amount. Ethan said that once our entire job was completed, that they would address my refund. Lowes does not stand behind their team and services. They lied and provided poor service and customer service.

    Lowes Installed Bali Blinds
    Patsi H.

I bought Bali faux wood blinds for my entire house from Lowe's and had them installed by Lowes installer. The blinds are absolutely beautiful and the installer was very professional, did the job in a timely manner, and cleaned up everything after he was finished. In the past I have also purchased a front screen door and a hot water heater both installed by Lowes. I am very happy with the quality and the installations.

Tile, jetted tub, Kraft maid cabinets, vinyl plank flooring.

This store has a nice selection. The restrooms are clean and the staff is attentive to ones needs. I will shop here again.

I spent 180.00 and got nothing for it. The technician charged me 129.00 for a diagnosis that was totally wrong. I even brought the parts for the repair for nothing as the old parts were good and he just doesnt know how to diagnos.Thed technician had an attitude like he hates his job, or he doesn't want gto be bothered. When you call SEARS you get AI because they don't want to talk to you, NO MATTER WHAT! Sears was horrible, the tech was horrible the serviice was horrible. Then he said it would cost me an additional 600.00 to repair the unit and he wanted the money upfront. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I would give them no stars if I could. I ended up fixing it myself for 150.00 and SEARS was going to charge me 250.00 for the same part and 350.00 for labor. I called Frigidare (they are awesome) and the repair clinic knew just what to do. No wonder Sears is out of business. Bottom line Don't even bother with sears. Go to the repair clinic. Sorry Sears but your appliance repair is going the same way your store went. OUT OF BUSSINESS.

I typically give service professionals grace, but our experience with Mr. Appliance was deeply…read moredisappointing and unprofessional. Today, the technician, Skyler Mead arrived to repair our dryer. While he sounded pleasant on the phone, his demeanor shifted the moment he entered our home. My husband politely asked if he could remove his shoes , a standard request in our home. Before my husband could even finish his sentence (he was about to ask if he could wear booties), the technician abruptly responded, "I will not take off my shoes," and began citing OSHA violations, malpractice concerns, or something to that effect. There's a way to approach someone when they simply don't know the policies or requirements of a service technician. My husband was not aware that removing shoes could be an issue -- that's why he asked. It would have gone a long way if the technician had simply educated us respectfully, rather than immediately becoming defensive and rude. A calm, professional explanation would've been more than enough. Unfortunately, the tone he set from that moment carried through the rest of the visit. When my husband later tried to be kind and asked how his day was going, the technician ignored him entirely. A few minutes later, when asked how things were going with the dryer, he mumbled under his breath that he was still working and would "let us know." He made no effort to communicate clearly or respectfully. Finally, he decided to speak to me about the dryer, and told me he needed to check availability of a part. I didn't know if that meant someone would call us later, so I asked for clarification, if someone would call us back with information he snapped, "I'll go outside and make the call to check on the part." Again, the tone was unnecessarily sharp. We were simply asking for clarity, not being difficult. To his credit, his demeanor began to shift toward the end of the visit , perhaps he realized how unprofessional he had been. He apologized that he didn't have the part, gave us his card, and offered to help if we needed anything else. But by that point, the experience had already left a bad taste. It's also worth noting that both my husband and I are professionals--he is a physician and business owner, and I am a nurse--where delivering excellent customer service is a fundamental part of what we do. We interact with people from all walks of life every single day, and regardless of our personal views or how someone presents, we treat everyone with respect and dignity. That's the bare minimum anyone should expect in their own home. Unfortunately, Skyer did not extend that same courtesy. I'm not going to speculate on why we were treated this way, though I can't ignore the fact that the thought crossed my mind that race may have played a role. Whether that was the case or not, it doesn't take much to treat people with kindness and respect. Whether you're having a bad day or not, when you step into someone's home as a professional, decency should not be optional. Sadly, that was missing from our experience with Mr. Appliance.

Ronnie, who did the repair, was skilled and professional and easy to work with. He readily diagnosed the problem and managed to work around some unexpected issues that were due to a faulty installation many years ago. The cost was perhaps a bit above what I might have expected, but the cost of just about everything has gone up in recent years so perhaps my expectation was unrealistic. And I appreciated that I was not asked to pay more than the original estimate notwithstanding the unexpected added time it took to overcome the issues mentioned above. Finally, considering the overall quality of the work done I consider what I paid represented good value. I will definitely consider Mr. Appliance for any future appliance repairs.

A Story of Genuine Small-Town Customer Care…read more This is the story of a small-town, family-owned appliance store that truly cares about its customers. I recently bought a used washing machine from Robert Tylisz Appliances in La Porte on SR-2 to replace my old one that had started leaking. Since my house is on the market, I wanted to leave reliable appliances for the new owners--ones that didn't cause any trouble. To my disappointment, the replacement washing machine wasn't quite what I expected. After it was delivered, I discovered that it too was leaking water onto my basement floor. What a mess! Feeling panicked and desperate, I immediately called the store and left a message with one of the employees. The next day, I spoke with Maureen, who instantly put me at ease. She assured me that the company would make things right--and she meant it. When the delivery team arrived with a replacement machine, the two gentlemen spent the first ten minutes apologizing on behalf of Tylisz Appliance, which I found very honorable. They installed my upgraded used washer, apologized once more before leaving, and made sure everything was in working order. The following day, Maureen called to confirm that I was satisfied and that everything was running smoothly--which it was. A few hours later, I received a knock on my door and was surprised to find someone delivering a thoughtful gift from Robert Tylisz Appliance. This experience reminded me that exceptional customer service still exists. Robert Tylisz Appliance went above and beyond to make things right. They're a shining example of what a small-town, family-run business should be--honest, caring, and dedicated to their customers.
