On November 1, 2021 we purchased a tankless water heater from Lowes with the added Lowes protection plan. on October 22, 2024 the water heater failed. we immediately called the manufacturer and the Lowes protection plan. we filed a claim with Lowes protection, 10/23/24, despite numerous promises of service it is now 10/31/2024. 10 days of no hot water. We have no resolution in site. we have called Lowes protection daily during these 10 days, and we have called the Lowes store pleading with them to at least order the new water heater as it is special order. Neither of which has been successful and here we sit with no hot water . We keep being told by Lowe's protection that the "gift card to replace the water heater is on its way, just give us 2 more days". so "2 days "has turned into 10 days with no end in site. Lowe's protection plan is a Joke, and the empty promises are frustrating, we do not feel we would waste the money on the protection plans should we ever shop at Lowe's again, which at this point is highly unlikely. Lowe's actual store was called, we spoke to an associate, the. A manager, and Lowe's corporate customer service. explaining we have a return authorization number from AO Smith (water heater manufacturer). we asked them if they could please order the replacement water heater ( it's a special order water heater and will take about 5 days to arrive AFTER it's ordered) to shorten the time we have to wait once Lowe's protection gets around to actually honoring our claim. we were told this could not happen, despite the fact that we have the Orginal receipt a return number from AO smith and the Lowe's protection plan. we are fully anticipating this whole process will probably take a full month to get resolved, which is unbelievable given the amount of manufacturer and Lowe's protection coverage we have. I cannot stress this enough, under NO circumstances should you ever buy any major appliance from Lowe's, EVER. the reality that Lowe's will allow their customers to endure a situation like this, with no end in site, is the breaking point for us. this isn't the first time we have had issues with Lowe's protection. we own multiple air bnb's we have bought multiple appliances from Lowe's. last year we had an issue with a dryer, the dryer needed to be replaced. that claim took a month to resolve. we brushed that one off as just a bad experience, however now a year later and we are now experiencing the same run around with Lowe's protection and their "just give us 2 more days" statements seem to be more of a falsehood then an actual policy. I will state this again, after 2 different appliances having issues and both being under a manufactures warranty AND Lowe's protection and the process taking so long to be resolved. There is no way we can possibly recommend Lowe's for ANY appliance purchase, without serious policy changes on Lowe's part. They have lost our business for sure, and we will expend as much energy as needed placing reviews everywhere we can to hopefully spare others from experiencing the same unacceptable customer service and general unwillingness by Lowe's to stand behind the products they sell. read more

I've reached out to customer care and Lowes in Michigan City, IN, Lowes Corporate, and the Better Business Bureau without success. I have not received cooperation. Here is my story and I need help. On 9 19 22 I made a purchase of a patio door for $4243.39 and screen for $222. 58 at Lowes In Michigan City, Indiana. Invoice number 59630349. We were told it would be 4 to 6 months for delivery and install. We finally received a call that delivery and install would be January 10, 2023. I missed a day of work for the install. The installers arrived January 10 and said they could not install that day because they didn't have the correct j point. They rescheduled for February 10. This time my spouse took the day off. They removed my entire door. Then they discovered they brought the WRONG door! They put the old one back with a broken latch, missing trim, and the door would not open! The allignment was off and the door was loose. My house is a new build from 2020 and the installers damaged my home! The installers left on February 10 and said someone would be in contact from Lowes. That evening at 630pm, my husband and I went to Lowes in Michigan City, IN. We spoke with Josh and Rahjda Assa who stated they were store managers and they said they very sorry and that we would be financially compensated for the damage to our home as well as for our inconvenience. Especially, since we lost 2 days of work. We were told they were reporting it to another manager and that we would receive a call on Saturday, the next day, February 11. At 930pm on February 10, I received a call from another manager named Ashley who stated the installers would be contacting me by Monday, February 13th before noon to setup a time to come fix the damage to my door and outside trim. No call was received. I called the store at 1246pm and asked for Ashley. I was told she was not available. I left my number and asked for a return call. My husband called at 2pm and waited on hold for 45 minutes before speaking with Ashley. She told my husband that financial compensation for this colossal mess was something she did not think was possible. R AND J installers came a few days after and placed chaulk on the door but it is still broken. It would not open, the latch was broken and there openings in the siding outside which were exposed to the elements. I received an email from customer care that said we would receive a response in 48 hours. I did not. I sent an email to the Better Business Bureau and a few days later received a call from Ethan Winkler from Lowes Corporate office a few days later who stated he would be our primary contact and would help us resolve our issues. Ethan and I have been exchanging calls and emails since February. I have saved everything. He stated with every phone call that he would work with us on obtaining a full refund. He promised. And I am sure if you summons the calls from his recorded lines at Lowes, that you will hear him say this. Our install was completed on 5/9/2023 8 months after purchase. We lost a total of 4 days of work, our house was damaged and exposed to the elements. Our old door also would not lock which was also a safety issue for us during the weeks of waiting. Ethan called me today and offered me $275. He promised the entire amount. Ethan said that once our entire job was completed, that they would address my refund. Lowes does not stand behind their team and services. They lied and provided poor service and customer service. read more

This past weekend, I was in a nearby town visiting friends and we were in need of firewood. When I was out looking for firewood, I found this Lowes, which, of course had firewood. The firewood was right up front, which I snagged, along with some kindling. I rolled up to the cashier, where I was greeted warmly. When the cashier when to ring up the wood, we realized there was no barcode. She tried finding the firewood in her system to no avail. I told her what they cost. When we kept struggling to find them in the system she eventually just entered a price (lower than the price listed) and checked me out. As it took a moment to find, it was a really nice gesture to keep the service moving along and to show appreciation for the customer. Lowe's A week ago, Saturday, February 16th, my husband & I went to Lowe's to buy a washer. As 2 senior's in our 70's and living solely on social security, we asked for the cheapest washer they had. The washer that we needed to replace was 10 years old and had broke over 6 months ago. We run a 501c3 nonprofit Dog Hospice for abused, handicapped & senior dogs, Petite Trésors Rescue & Sanctuary. We have a washer & dryer for us and another set for the dogs. We have these washer's & dryer's in our laundry room in a row. They are all front loading & there is a counter going across the top of them. The washer that was broken was the one we used for the dogs. We have a home warranty and have been having them serviced for 10 years. Last year the washer we use for us broke and since it was not repairable home warranty gave us credit toward a new one which we went to Lowe's to purchase and it was replaced without any issues other than the extra money we had to pay because the money from home warranty wasn't enough. When the washer we use for the dogs broke, it took 3 to 4 months for our home warranty to tell us they had to give us credit for a new one and another month for us to get the gift card to Lowe's. Since again, it was not enough money to purchase a washer, we needed to save for the purchase and thought President Day weekend would be a good time to make the purchase. The washer was scheduled to be delivered on Monday, February 18, between 3:00 & 7:00pm. After months of going to the laundromat we were looking forward to having the dog washer again. We have 20 dogs in our Sanctuary and take them for life. We go through a lot of laundry just for the dogs. The delivery people showed up between 2:00 & 2:30. It is a lot of work for us to gather up 20 dogs and put them in the bedroom where they wouldn't be underfoot of the workers. However, the 2 men sent informed my husband that they were too fat to install the washer. They then told us to contact the delivery department to reschedule and gave us a phone number to call. Then they left with the washer on the truck. When I called the number and explained the situation that had occurred in detail, the woman took all the information and rescheduled our delivery for Wednesday, February 20. Again, we needed to clear a wide range of time, canceling my physical therapy, and gather the dogs again. When the 2 men arrived, they told my husband that it was too small a space for them and were going to take the washer away again. My husband told them that that was unacceptable and they pulled out the old washer. However, it was my 71 year old 6 ft husband that had to crawl behind, disconnect and reconnect and install the new washer. Then the delivery people pushed the washer back into place and apparently took a picture to show their work was done. We were also asked when we purchased the washer to purchase a hose which wasn't needed. We went back to the Lowe's store on Thursday, February 21st to return the hose and told customer service in detail more than once what had occurred. We additionally requested that the installation & delivery fee be refunded for our total inconvenience in addition to my husband doing almost all the work which we had paid Lowe's to do. We were told someone would be in touch within 24 hours. It is now way past the 24 hours and no one has contacted us. read more

They don't tell you when you order items for pickup that they will only hold them for 7 days. Carpet installation had so many problems. They were unable to locate the person who normally enters the orders. The person who put the order in made a note of who to contact for the measuring and installation. They called me. I told them who to contact. The installation company called me again. Their 72 hour plan no longer exists. I received a call to tell me that they only move furniture once it is disassembled or emptied as well as email to confirm the installation date and time.a week out. I also received a call a few days before that contradicted the time of the appointment sent in the email. I asked again about what I need to do to prepare the furniture. The installer called 1/2 hour prior to coming and came on time. He went above and beyond as his email said there was no furniture to move. Excellent installation! While the installer was at my house, I received 2 texts and emails to confirm the installer would be there the next day. Customer service is not available after 4 pm to clear up this error. As I had only requested carpeting, imagine my astonishment when I received another email the next day to say my lead assessment had been scheduled. It took nearly 1/2 hour to get that error cleared up. I can't recommend their installation services until they fix their scheduling and communication problems. read more

Lowe's doesn't honor their extended warranties. I bought a new Maytag washer and dryer 2 years ago. The washing machine stopped working in July. Lowe's "customer service " started out with "the expected wait time (for someone to actually answer) was 2 to 3 hours. You could leave a call back number and someone did call back 3 hours later. She was too far from her microphone and hard to understand. Eventually I got an appointment 3 weeks later. The service guy came out and told me I needed a new control panel. Expected wait time....three months. He came back 3 months later with the wrong part and now doesn't return phone calls. I will never buy from Lowe's again. My husband and I recently purchased new appliances for our kitchen. The salesman was helpful in trying to find us the right pieces but now weeks later find that it would have been better if he actually knew the appliances. I ended up with a refrigerator that is smaller than my last one. I wanted a side by side but it would be up against a wall. I didn't think it would fit. kept asking how much space was needed and he didn't seem to know so I got a regular freezer up and refrigerator down. I then visited my grandson who had just purchased a side by side refrigerator and it was up against a wall with the same amount of space that I had. Very disappointed. the I wanted a stove with a drawer in the bottom and the new steam clean but had a hard time finding one. He said it wasn't available with the steam clean option. I said I would have to get the same old heat clean that I had now but a drawer was important. He had to order me one and I looked at it on the computer screen. it looked good so it was ordered. a few weeks later when I had time to sit down and read how everything worked I found that the stove was not self cleaning at all. The manager at Michigan City Lowes told me there was nothing they could do for me as it was past the 48 hour return window. I trusted that the salesman ordered what I wanted. It never dawned on me that I would get a stove with NO self clean option. I'm 70 years old and will not be able to get on my knees to clean it and I'm stuck with it. Shame on Michigan City Lowes for their poor customer service. Bought 3 appliances from them and that means nothing. Me and my husband purchased a refrigerator at Lowe's. Biggest mistake we ever made. !!!! the refrigerator, was very good size and would not fit through our doorway so we took the trim off the door so it would fit and they refused to put it through the doorway because it didn't have the trim on it. Horrible experience with stove install. Did not confirm my appt. and were late. Broke my screen door (and didn't tell me about it). Did not correctly install stove (didn't install anti tip bracket as required by code) and didn't even leave me the bracket so I could install it myself. The installers left the house and left my front doors wide open. My pets ran away before I noticed the doors had been left open (I was in the kitchen looking at the new stove). Luckily I was able to round up my cats without them getting squished by cars. I will never use Lowes for anything again. read more

I avoid them like the plague but one day last month my refrigerator (which had been terminal at the time) finally passed on to the icebox in the sky. We quickly did research and found which refrigerator we wanted as well as the model number. We went to Lowe's on a whim and they said they'd match the price. That they did and even beat the price. Since it was a Sunday, I thought I'd have to wait the 2 weeks to get my fridge - not here. THEY DELIVERED IT ON MONDAY! The fellow who waited on us (Thom I think) was professional and helpful so I will continue going here to Thom with my appliance requests. As long as they meet the price I have in mind, the business is there. I can highly recommend them. However, I'm sure people have had an array of experiences with these stores. read more

Went to purchase a refrigerator. Salesperson was helpful. Sent us to customer service desk to pay. Three people there chatting while one other was wor hub and another on phone. Five people total and nobody acknowledged us for several minutes. Finally asked if someone could help us. You'd think we'd asked for an organ donation. Process took entirely too long. Anyway we thought that was the worst of it. Delivery set for Friday 6/24. They call and say they can't get through due to road closure despite us being able to get in and out albeit via a detour. So they reschedule for Saturday. They call Friday night to confirm the delivery window on Saturday 7:30-9:30am. We wait all day Saturday, no delivery. After repeated calls back an forth they say "we will deliver it tomorrow, Sunday, first delivery. We start delivering at 9:00 am on Sunday." It is now 1015. No refrigerator. We call to make sure they're coming. We are told they are coming between 1030 and 1230. So much for "first"delivery. Customer service? Sorry, it's dead. Three wasted days waiting for a stupid refrigerator delivery. Never again. read more
