This was my first time visiting the Lowe's Garden Center, and while they do have a large selection of beautiful, healthy plants, the overall experience was disappointing. Customer service at the garden register was extremely poor. The cashier was rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. What made it worse was that even the next employee who came on shift openly acknowledged that this person is known for being rude. That says a lot. On top of that, the layout and assistance were lacking--I couldn't find what I was looking for, and there was no help available to guide me or even try. Will I return? Yes, but only because the plants themselves are good. I'll be avoiding the garden register if possible and hoping for better service next time. read more

Ordered grill in Fruitville store on 7/4/26. Website said if I ordered in the next 1hr 31 minutes I could have delivered 7/5/26. Associate said that isn't the case. Did not want to take a floor model. Unit came damaged. No offer was made for assistance with the exception, of the warehouse will call me when I item returns there late today. Was told to call the store, but when I did they said I had to talk to warehouse. Asked to speak to a manager and was disconnected. Call 800 number and was again given the run around. Repeatedly asked to speak with a manager and was finally hung up on. Told me I could pay for another one and then get a refund when the new one arrives. What a scam. Paid over $20,000 to Lowe's for Cali vinyl plank flooring and got a terrible installation. The floor is now uneven, making noise, and already buckling -- clear signs of improper work. Even worse, the manufacturer confirmed the issues are due to bad installation and that Lowe's should fix it, but Lowe's refuses to take responsibility. Completely unacceptable for a project at this price. Poor workmanship, no accountability, and zero customer support. Avoid Lowe's installation services at all costs. read more

Terrible experience at NE Sarasota Lowe's (Fruitville). My wife ordered a hose online. I showed up 3.5 hours later to pick it up -- and was immediately met with attitude. The associate told me "I didn't wait 3 hours," despite the order being placed well over 3 hours prior. They then did a quick stock check, said they didn't have the item, and cancelled the order on the spot. When I tried to calmly explain the situation to a supervisor named Steven, I was talked over. When I asked to finish speaking, I was threatened with being kicked out of the store. I never raised my voice. This morning, I kept receiving texts saying my order was "ready for pickup." So I called and spoke with Debbie, a front end manager, who said she'd call me back in 30 minutes. She never did. When I called her back, she was irritated that I was following up and offered zero apology. When I asked why I'm still getting pickup notifications on a cancelled order, she said she "doesn't care" about what their system sends me. No accountability. No apology. Just dismissiveness at every level. This is the kind of customer service that happens when companies know you have nowhere else to go. Do better, Lowe's ! read more

If I could mark zero stars I would. Back in 3/14/2020 I purchased a Greenworks Self Propelled mower along with a 3 year Lowe's protection plan. I was told when I purchased the extended warranty that the warranty would start after the manufacturers warranty expired. This was a lie! I paid $69.97 for a warranty that expired prior to the Greenworks manufacturer warranty. Note to self Lowe's protection plans for mowers are trash. Greenworks warranty is for 4 years. Why would I be stupid enough to buy an extended warranty that expired before the manufacturers warranty dah! Just look at the picture below. Oh and even better yet for battery operated Lawn or Push Mower on manager told me Batteries are not covered under Lowe's plan only the mower! What!! Hello, I have never been "lucky" enough for any Lowe"s representative or department to answer the phone. I have tried 4 times in 2 weeks and never was able to speak with anyone ,also their website says free delivery for orders over $45. How about an order over $100? Went to Lowe's on Fruitville last week to buy some kitchen appliances but left empty handed because Niles, an MST worker, told me he didn't work for Lowe's and couldn't be bothered to find anyone to help me. Someone needs to tell these arrogant MST workers that they DO work for Lowe's! Apparently only the Lowe's workers with Red Vests are allowed to help customers. They did better than Home Depot but still find Lowes .... If you find the person there you can get a declarative answer but unfortunately not the best selection/ choices to choose from. If you need advice or how to on even simple things not not quite sure about..... go to an ACE HARDWARE! Get tech advice that makes sense and they more often have what you need. Very helpful. ACE MUCH BETTER choice than HOME DEPOT OR LOWES. Home Depot was terrible. 4 - Home Depot people gave poor or NO advice but were friendly ladies saying I'll help you (but by admission knew nothing) lol.. I knew more than them which wasn't a lot. Man what a mess, ordered my stuff online to pick up my things curbside and it took longer than if I would've just gone inside and done it myself. I waited almost an hour to get my things, and I wasn't the only one. They are obviously overwhelmed, but they need to figure out either better processes or pay to get more people. What a mess! I went inside and the pick up guy was basically just meandering around, ignoring everybody that was calling him by name. 1/2 * I had a terrible experience with Lowe's customer service on 11/01/2024. I spent three hours trying to reach someone at the store, calling nine times. I had a delivery issue, but each time the phone rang, someone would pick up, I could hear background conversations, and then they would hang up. When I finally got through, I asked to speak with a manager, but was put on hold only for the call to disconnect. I then tried the 800 customer service number, but they couldn't reach the store either. They told me they'd connect me with a manager through a different number, but that never happened. I purchased an AC unit that didn't function - I called in to return it and they scheduled a pick up from my front door - once I did the return the store put a hold on my return due to " missing" part - I had the return slip and picture it was picked up - I called in requesting my $ and why there was a hold. James the stores sales manager was amazing. He got me handled right away, released the hold and with in minutes I saw a return hit my Lowes account. I have indoor plants that have been around for 50+ years. I have no real experience with outdoor plants. I had a great planter I wanted to fill for my terrace. Being unfamiliar about outdoor plants, it was btwn going to a nursery or Lowe's. Ended up at Lowe's. Today will be the first and last time I step foot in that store. Fantastic organized plant department with absolutely no human support with the exception of Kelly. Kelly was this lovely woman who was working in the garden dept making sure everything was clean for all of us. Kelly could not help me unfortunately, not her job. She did however request 3x on my behalf without my asking her to, for someone to come and help/recommend plants to me via the loudspeaker. No one responded to her. Kelly was trying to make a customer happy and no one on her dept team chose to help her. Coincidentally, I then found the woman who should have responded to Kelly the first time. She was too busy gabbing with a co worker. I only observed that since I was wandering around trying to find a watering pot. The total disregard to Kelly's request by her "supervisor" is horrifying. I felt badly for Kelly. I figured out what I needed and I will hope the best. A customer was helpful. Shame on you Lowe's. Your employees should not be treated like that nor your customer. No worries on my front. Unfortunately, Lowe's will not be my store of choice or recommendation. I happen to be in the marketing and retail arena. We all know " it is all about the customer". well tried the Sarasota store on Fruitville, on 2/28/25. there's a reason they only have 2 stars. horrible!!!! the manager on duty has a serious attitude. had purchased an item at a different location and that location referred me to this one for a particular tool said they had it in stock. at this store they show it in stock but they couldn't find it but had same one with different case, simply asked if they could match the prices - nope, and with a serious attitude about how they don't have it and other store shouldn't have sent me here and "that's not my problem". so I returned the tool I purchased at the other store here, no more business for Lowe's. read more

The worst of the worst! This store doesn't pick up the phone and when you do speak to someone regarding their error, they do not get back to you...AT ALL. Ordered specific tile that was to be the same dye lot. Tons of confusion on their end then a short delivery with zero notice. I would have refused the delivery being short and no chance to match dye lots. Cost me money due to having to stop work. While I'm not in love with Home Depot, I thought I'd give Lowes a shot. This is not a welcoming location. Never enough staff to help and then when you do find someone, they act like they really do not want to help you. Plus, there is usually a condescending remark like they know it all and you cannot possibly know what you are seeking. I go in to get a deal on a refrigerator, which I already had picked out after hours of comparison online. I know they have it and I want to see it. What happens, the refrigerators only have the red sale stickers up above where you can not read the fine print. At 5'2, I am no where near the top of the refrigerators and the stickers are hanging above them. A young salesman comes over to offer help. I said sure, can you tell me the details on this refrigerator? He says yeah, and walks away. I stand there confused. He walks back and says it's 36 inches. That's it! He went to the computer and read the specs. So I asked if he had them so I too could read them. Nope. I asked for the model number, I really wanted to make sure I was looking at the one I saw online. Nothing tough, given that I was ready to buy. He got a little smart with me telling how the refrigerators are measured by the outside and not inside. I looked at him, and said can I see the specs please before I buy it? I know what I want is the cubic feet of the unit. OH, sure he said and walked me over to the computer. I was exhausted by the time I got done with him and then had to go find a register that was open with a cashier. Found only one register that was open. The one cashier working the customer service desk had 3 people waiting. Meanwhile, you see quite a few red smocked people who appear to be on the clock but not helping anyone. Very frustrating to say the least. The cashier was very sweet and expedited the order. She was very excited to tell me I had saved $300 on my purchase. At the end, I did save $300 but as I walked to my car I wondered why I didn't just buy it online. The salesman we dealt with was pleasant and we found the LG refrigerator we wanted. On Monday, the delivery truck came and the driver refused to install the refrigerator without a plumber connecting the water line. Nobody at the store said anything about needing a plumber. My husband knew he could attach the new water line we bought to the 1/4" copper piping with a simple tool. While my husband was doing this, the driver loaded the fridge back on the truck and drove away. We called the store and were cut off three times. On Tuesday, they arrived again and got the fridge out of the truck. It was damaged in four places. It was such a mess that they didn't even offer us a financial incentive to keep it. I called the store and was told they would try to find another unit. They called back that night to say they had located another fridge at a nearby Lowe's and that it would be delivered on Thursday between 10 and 2. They said they cancelled the first order and gave us a new order number from the second store. On Wednesday, Lowe's called to confirm the Thursday delivery time between 10 and 2. On Thursday they never showed up. So at 2:30, we called the store and were told that they NEVER HAD that model in the store. On Friday, I called the second store to tell them to cancel the order. They were supposed to call back to confirm it had been done and never did. We called our credit card company and disputed the charge for the first unit, WHICH HAD NEVER BEEN CREDITED. Four days go by and we get an email from Lowe's telling us that they are sending two Lowe's Merchandise Cards for $2,517.69. We got the cards today with this letter: "Please accept the enclosed Lowe's Merchandise Cards in lieu of your recent request to cancel/refund your order. We value your continued business and look forward to serving you in the future for all your home improvement needs." ARE THEY OUT OF THEIR MINDS? I have a $2,517.69 charge on my credit card and they want me to accept store credit? I will never set foot in Lowe's again. read more

Always clean! Layout is pretty user-friendly compared to similar hardware stores. Many asociates. However, most do not ask if you need any assistance. Instead, they are focused on either their current task or talking to other associates. This is the only negative I have found. read more

If you have a problem in the store neither the store manager, or district manager, or corporate cares. I had a minor problem and called corporate customer service. I asked for the district manager to call me so I could discuss it with him. Instead the store manager called once and left a message that he called. He never called back. When I call corporate customer care for the second time, I told them what happened and said that at this point who cared if I got a call back, it just didn't matter now. To have a minor problem blow into a major and lose a customer is not customer service. They obviously have none anymore. If the former manager, Mike were still there, this never would have happened. He was great at taking care of things. I am so glad that their business is so good it doesn't matter if they lose a customer. This is the store on Fruitville Road in Sarasota. sadly I bought my appliances from lowes and the salesperson never asked me about which way I would like the doors to open on my washer dryer. it's horrible to reach around in a small area. I never thought to ask and obviously their employees could care less to ask. they tried to deliver them 3 times before my construction was done. they have zero communication with their wearhouse I would say never deal with lowes for appliances their prices were no different then appliance stores.
