My house was built in 1950. For 20+ years, whenever it continuously rained hard, or we'd get a…read moretorrential thunderstorm, we knew exactly which areas water would hydrostatically seep in as the water table rose. We would go through dozens of towels and often run 5-gallon shopvacs to try to keep streams of water from flowing across the floor and pooling into the finished part of our basement. Finally, I had enough. I called a few basement repair companies to come in, survey the problem, and give us estimates.
