Because of this my new landlord charged me fees of $170 (tho, to be fair, I thought it would only be $70 and TM did credit that against the unexpected bill). As for moving, other than not packing my spice drawers or wall desk, not bringing the firewood or firewood holder (also expensive), and charging me for boxes (after swearing to use the ones I had already bought) they were very average - broken glass in pictures, a couple of badly packed and smashed items, but nothing out of the ordinary for movers. All told, I'm out $9k for moving, $400 for missing items, and no Goodwill receipt for donated items (which I was counting on for my 2026 taxes).
