I began working with LS Carlson Law about a year ago after spending nearly two years fighting my HOA over serious mishandling of funds. After getting nowhere with my previous counsel, I was referred to LS Carlson Law, and attorney Ahmet Brown took over my case. From that moment forward, everything finally started moving again. The firm followed every proper legal channel and applied the right pressure to force the HOA to respond and produce the documents (some) they had been avoiding for years. The case ultimately went to mediation, where I was able to recover most of the money I had spent up to that point. While I didn't walk away with additional compensation (which was disappointing after such a long battle) Ahmet reminded me that a successful mediation is often one where neither side feels completely satisfied. He was right, and I appreciated the honesty. Today, I've had to rehire the firm because the HOA failed to comply with part of the settlement agreement. At this stage, with all the groundwork already done, I'm confident the process will move much faster. I'm hopeful that this time I'll finally see meaningful accountability, and maybe even some compensation, for the stress and financial harm this HOA has caused. Please stay away from this law firm. After paying them almost 4 thousand dollars and never follow up with the HOA opposing counselor, never set up to retrieved the documents requested. I have to send them multiple email to ask for status update then suddenly LSCarson attorney sent me an email on April 8th , 2026 that they are out of office for Thanks Giving holidays and will be able to respond at December 1st ! Impressively, then charged me 450 dollars for that stupid incompetent email. All they did was send a standard document request letter to the HOA and charged me over 2500 which I told them clearly, I do not need a new document request letter since I have had it all from previous attorney's record request. Hourly rate between 450 and 525 are insane for DO NOTHING WORK and wasted my time and money after 3,5 months. read more

Stay away. I had the same experience as Louis V (who also gave a one star review). I was charged more than $4,000 and nothing was accomplished. They overpromised and totally under-delivered!! The firm never followed up with me or with the COA Management Group. I was always the one reaching out to find out the status of my claim. At one point, I was even charged for a response to an email I sent asking why I hadn't heard from them in weeks. Based on my experience, I would not recommend their services. Don't hire this firm. They are not up front or transparent, they do what they want, and then bill you after. They gave the impression they could help us get our shed placed in the rear of our home in Florida. They were never up front with the costs, the process of mediation before court. They used costly power point presentations, for simple mediation without prior authorization, just billed us thousands later. On phone call with one atty, they would say another atty wants to listen in. They would say good morning, then they would double bill us $800 an hour for conversations with two attys, when we only actually talked to one. We would give them specific instructions on the phone, only to have the send a one line confirmation email charging $45. When it was all said and done we got absolutely nowhere, except atty fees of approximately $30,000.00. We did most of the leg work and could have built 3 sheds for that outrageous amount?. read more

I contracted LS Carlson to handle several major issues with our HOA, including refusing to approve a straightforward lot-maintenance agreement approved for ALL other owners (10), major harassment like placing survey stakes on our property, leaving them there for months, and resusing to explain them or remove them, and the BOD President physically attacking me by breaking my right hand. The "Consultation Meeting" was cut short and made useless by irrelevant discussion about "Document Requests" that I did not need. I wrote a "Demand Letter" but they insisted on completely rewriting it. Steven and Allegra did a poor job rewriting the letter, which had to be significantly editted back to my original letter. When they sent the letter there was NO follow-up, no contact with the HOA or their lawyer. The HOA immediately refused to meet ANY claims. The whole thing was a complete fiasco and cost MORE THAN $6000. What a RIPOFF. Allegra charged me about $100 just to forward trivial schedual-update emails from their lawyer. DO NOT USE. Looking to access condo association statutory retention mandated records. Firm provides great service and is very responsive. Excellent back office support. Only downside was an underestimation of fees. Spent thousands of dollars in a few weeks, with very disappointing returns, as fixed costs are charged, but. Info had no records as required by Florida Statute. For an attorney to read a one paragraph update email, just for the case file record, cost was $39. Also, abstain from conversation of personal nature... (new baby for associate, or shared Alma mater), as they become billable hours. Continuing would have been financially impossible. Estimates provided during initial consultation were nowhere near the billed charges. However, they are a good law firm if you have very deep pockets. They probably get results. read more

I spent the $300 for the consult and boy was that worth every penny! In my case, it saved me an expensive and lengthy legal battle, that wasn't slanted in my favor. Beware! This law firm consistently busts deadlines, fraudulently and frivolously charges its clients. I am a 22 year AF veteran and LS carlson charged me over $30K in lawyer fees in less than 2 months. I was suing my HOA and a neighbor. They used fraud to overcharge my HOA. They charged hoa for neighbor issues and vise versa, to charge more on invoices. They also charged me for many services not done. After bringing it to their attention, they put a credit on my account instead of refund. Also, they broke suspenses costing us more money, and they lied, telling me that they could get a case thrown out. They didn't attempt, busted a suspense, causing us to go to court and costing us more fees. Throughout this process, they ignored our concerns. My HOA rejected mediation & LS Carlson was not prepared to go to court. I had to continuously ask them to begin litigation & they just tried to ignore me. I was forced to fire them. I put in a dispute with my credit card company and LS carlson law is falsifying documents to win the case. Guess I'll have to sue them in court for legal malpractice and fraud. I have recently had a very long, expensive and more than disappointing experience with LS Carson Law. By their own admission their specialty is in aggressively serving their clients in an efficient and satisfactory manner. I experienced none of this; My simple (according to LS Carson law) case involving my HOA mushroomed into a 9 month and $17,000 process that ultimately went nowhere. Despite constantly keeping our lawyer updated to relevant issues unfolding with my HOA, our lawyers couldn't even manage to go to mediation even though the HOA had agreed to one. Apparently LS Carson Law forgot the law that when a party agrees to mediate, they are then legally bound to do so. After their initial eagerness to pursue our case, we then were aware of a sudden loss of interest by LS Carson law. One wonders why. Their crowning moment came when, after all this aggravation, we decided to terminate their services. They proceeded to blame their female paralegal for our case not going anywhere and claimed that they (the senior partners) somehow didn't know the details of our case and that was why they hadn't proceeded. Beware this law firm can not be trusted. I hired this firm to sue my HOA and also my neighbor. We had to challenge them on several invoices. They were charging us for work not done. We brought this to their attention they acknowledge however, wouldn't give us a refund. Our HOA refused mediation, LS carlson wasn't ready to litigate and kept trying to drag it out to make more money and charge more legal fees. I was forced to fire them because they started ignoring us. After I fired them, I asked for a refund. They denied, so I started collecting evidence. Upon taking a closer look at the invoices, I noticed that this firm charged my HOA for my neighbor's matter to beef up invoices. I requested for my HOA to add my attorney fees and court costs. This is fraud! I contacted my bank and challenged the charges because I can't be associated. I'm so glad that we caught this. It would have caused us to lose my case and also opened up a possible criminal lawsuit due to fraud. I tried to discuss before elevation but LS Carlson only wanted to meet off the record.
