Five stars would be an understatement, given my experience working with Long on my driving skills. He deserves more than that. Due to me working fulltime, my schedule is tight too, so most of my lessons with Long were in the evening (after sunrise), which not every driving school offers. Long helped me gain confidence in my driving skills and to get back on the road again after a time of anxiety that I had before. He's not like any other instructor. He is more than willing to take you out and give you as much driving experience as you can, and he will make you understand your potential as a driver by exposing you to various scenarios that you will possibly encounter moving forward. He will also teach you how to overcome the challenges you may come across while in the driver's seat. Personally, I liked his approach with teaching, as he caters for each individual, unlike others who just go through their standard lesson plan then call it a day. Overall, he didn't just teach me the hows, dos, and don'ts. He didn't just help me prepare for the behind-the-wheel test. He also taught me how to be a safe and smart driver and helped me prepare for the real world driving experience. Last to note is that he took me to places I've never been before, which made the whole experience better than what I initially thought it would be. Every lesson was like going on a roadtrip with a friend or a relative, who's also your local tour guide. You will surely look forward to it! AMAZING!!!! I used to be a very nervous and disorganized driver but after working with Long I was confident and excited about my driving test. Throughout the 6 month timeframe, he was easy to work with (great communication), responsive with scheduling through the 3 lessons (2hrs each), and had set a timetable and additional instructions for learning. Long review. (Ha!) I was honestly afraid of getting ripped off - my bad experiences with previous driving instructors really put me off driving for a long time. I spent money on instructors who would go back on their words, disappear on me after we've locked down a time, or charge me more than what we agreed on. I read through reviews after reviews on Yelp and the name 'Long' or 'LT' kept popping up. I sent an enquiry on his website and he got back to me immediately. He turned up at my door step on time the following week. Over the 2 months, I've come to realize that Long was trustworthy and likeable. There were no under-the-table exchanges to avoid taxes (oh man, I can go on and on about this), no pressure to get me to sign on for more lessons just because I "wasn't good enough" etc. No bullying, no aggression. Every 2-hour lesson I had was fun and filled with so many tips. I drove on the freeway at lesson 2, like he said I would. He knew that I 'switch off' mentally when I pass the 1.5 hour mark of the lesson. He knew when I was pretending to understand what he just explained. It's weird that he knew how to read me just by sitting in my car, but he did! He knew how to deal with my driver's anxiety and he knew when AND how to call me out. What a GEM of an instructor. When I took my driving test today (I passed the first time!), I was repeating what Long would say to me at every single point. Literally. At a STOP sign, I would say "at the S & the T" or when I was going to turn right on red, I would say "come to a full stop, check if it's safe, then go." Trust me - LT driving school is super worth the money. You don't see any other schools having students wax lyrical about a driving school on Yelp. LT driving school did a wonderful job preparing my teen to be a safe driver. The instructor (Long) always showed up on time and picked up my teen for lessons in a clean and well maintained car. After each lesson, there is homework to do in terms of practicing on the road with mom or dad. Three lessons later, my teen passed the driving test at the DMV on the first try. 5 Stars. A+. Long is nothing short of a miracle worker. In a little over a month, I went from being scared to even get in the driver's seat to passing my DMV test on the first try. I first contacted Long right after Christmas 2021. A near accident in October of 2020 had scared me off of driving, and I finally decided that I needed to get back to learning how to drive. Long arrived on time in a pristine car ready and eager to teach the extraordinarily nervous individual that was myself. His teaching style is flawless; a mix of humor and an abundance of patience combined with to the point instructions was exactly what I needed to gain confidence in my ability to drive. Long taught me the fundamentals of how to drive well, and did so in a manner in which dissipated my nervousness and anxiety surrounding driving. Had it not been for Long, I honestly don't think I would've passed the test, or even gotten back into driving. We were very pleased with our experience using Long to help our son refine his driving skills. He had used a different company/teacher for the first 6 hours of behind the wheel instruction. There wasn't enough strategy in the approach, and my son did not pass the test on his first attempt. We then heard about Long from a friend, and hired him to teach our son with an additional lesson before he retook the test. His skills and driving confidence dramatically improved, and he passed the test his second try. We will definitely be using Long right away for our younger son when the time comes. read more

I am a LOT older than the typical student driver . Over the years I have come close to but never felt confident to schedule the test and complete this essential rite of passage due to severe anxiety. I have had many driving instructors but none as patient as Long. He is conscientious, patient, and encouraging and I learned more from him in 5 lessons than I did driving on and off over the past several years from various instructors. It also helps that he is a great conversationalist and the two hour lessons didn't seem as grueling thanks to him putting me at ease and taking regular breaks whenever my anxiety escalated. After my very first lesson with him, I was browsing at cars to buy! I passed my test today ( first attempt!) and I owe it all to Long. I recently just passed my driver's test last week on the first try, and a big part of that success was because of Long. He helped me practice around Redwood City and gave me very useful tips for how to ace the behind the wheel test. Stop here and search no more! Long saved the day and I am forever grateful. We had a very terrible experience with another driving school (CA Driver Academy). Their driver was extremely unprofessional and they were shut down with no warning. I lost my money for my daughter's final lesson and worse, she was stranded without an instructor with her behind-the-wheel test just a few days away. I immediately googled "top 10 driving schools near me" and stumbled upon LT Driving School. The reviews were excellent so I called right away. Long answered my call right away, I explained the situation and he put me at ease and told me to send him all of the info from the other place to show her previous 4 hours of driving instruction. He came to our house that very Sunday to take my daughter for her final driver's lesson. He was very professional and very informative. He got straight to it and taught my daughter more in just those two hours than her previous instructor did in 4 hours. Long took the time with her to give her every single pointer she needed, and even wrote down notes for her so she could practice after the lesson. He had easy-to-remember acronyms and many great tips for the big day. She took her behind-the-wheel Test on the following Tuesday and passed with flying colors. Long deserves more than five stars. He is very efficient and professional up until the booking and during the lesson. He responded fast and up until the day of he checked in! He was one of the few that allowed a parent to be present in the car. He's was very welcoming, detailed, passionate , and knowledgeable about his work. He's everything you want for your teen to succeed in driving. He'll ask you questions along the way, give valuable tips, and will review everything you need to know to pass (gives homework at the end of lesson to work on and master when driving with an adult). After my first lesson I can say he boosted up my confidence on the road. His technique and the way he teaches is flawless.
