I am excited and thrilled to say the least. The chair is beyond amazing. I had it upholstered in a white leather I purchased from B Wilkes as I stated in my earlier review for the fabric store. I had the wood refinished in a shiny silver. The chair is an ornate french style that was dated and stuffy. Now I have a masterpiece! White leather, silver wood trim and funky graffiti text finishes it all off... BANANAS!!!!!! Carie is a sweetheart to work with! He requested I send pictures so he could see what the extent of the issue was. Once he received the pictures, we spoke on the phone. He took the time to explain everything and educate me. He quoted mye a price. Said he could do it that weekend. He came to my house on a Saturday, took apart the part of the sofa that needed the repair to bring back to his shop. He showed me what needed to be done and explained everything to me. Said he would come back on Sunday with the repaired sofa. Final results were wonderful. I am very pleased with his work. My husband and I had six Lane danish modern dining chairs from the '60s that needed new cane backs. The danish modern style weave needed to be ordered specially. Paul already had a relationship with a supplier of this uncommon product. The sheet caning and splines also needed to be dyed to match the coloring of the wood frames. He color-matched it all perfectly. And the caning work itself is really handsome. The chairs have gotten rave compliments for very design savvy friends. Paul is clearly very enthusiastic about the work he does. While my chairs only required sheet caning, he also does the traditional and much more skill-intensive hand weaving He showed me beautiful hand caned work he did as well as rawhide repair and other types of seat weaving. I almost wish I needed some of this work done! Lastly, but also very important is what a pleasant and conscientious person he is. He is remarkably polite and easy to talk to. His prices were very reasonable and he had the work done within the timeframe he originally proposed.

Oh & Son is The Way to go!…read more I very recently needed a chair re-upholstered and discovered Oh & Son Upholstery recommended by numerous posters here on Yelp and on NextDoor, so I took the plunge. The replacement fabric I'd purchased had a repeat that I wanted placed a very specific way on the chair. I supplied Mr. Oh with some illustrations, and an additional chat. There were very strategic issues that he and his team addressed, that I hadn't even taken into account, but he made correct decisions with regard to them! He did this because he is the ultimate perfectionist. I felt that he was that way very early on, just by the way he expressed himself and by the questions he asked. So, here is my advice: take your upholstery needs to Mr.Oh. You will be very pleased!
