Instead, he screamed at me, threatened to hang up on me, and said he is closing his business and leaving California (probably in an effort to not get sued). If he is retiring, what a sad, disgraceful legacy to leave behind. He took our payment and failed to complete the job. I will be reporting him anywhere I can to keep other from getting taken advantage of by this person. This behavior is childish, unprofessional, dishonest and gross.

He researched potential buyers and found what he believed to be a GREAT buyer. Well ... he missed something. This new owner was a dolt. Seriously. I felt sorry for the guy. Apparently he didn't understand he was buying a CPA office that did tax preparation. He had absolutely no clue! Worst of all ... this past February, 11 days before our scheduled appointment (made in October 2024) we got a call from the poor staff girl ... they had to cancel our appointment. We asked, "Oh, you're moving us?" She replied, "No, we're closing!" Wait! What?! You mean like for a vacation? No ... tomorrow!!! FOR GOOD!! No referral. No, Sorry! No nothing. What a horrible businessman. I can't put -5 stars ... 1 star is far too good!!

In that time I've made several phone calls to the office, and Barb first apologized, and then assured me I would get a call from Russ Word. He has failed to do so in nearly a month. So what resulted, is that I have no accountant to help me with a very important upcoming meeting with the IRS. If they just come straight out and told me that they don't have time for my business I would have sought another accountan. Total waste of my time; likely to cost me money going into this IRS meeting without the proper help before hand.

The first year they did my income taxes, I was told that they like to review the previous year returns. I gave them the returns, and when they were returned to me along with the current year returns, we were told we had to file a correction for the previous year because they had found over $1000 in additional refund for us!!!
