These students will do what they have seen you do. Be a good example. Every single time I go I do have an appointment but not once have they actually been ready for me when I arrive. They spend 15 minutes scrounging for people and then looking for paperwork to fill out and then getting the room or items ready. Again, you knew someone was coming, have all that ready. Show them you're prepared and glad they are there. I usually ask for students about to graduate, but today I got a brand newbie. She used the course drill on my cuticles. All of them bled. I literally had to take ibuprofen when I got home because my hands hurt so bad. Over 12 hours later, I was still in severe pain. Again, I realize they are learning and this falls back on instructors. If you know it's the student's FIRST TIME, go check on them (and the client) DURING the service. Coach them on what they're suppose to do and doing wrong or could do better. My girl kept reading the box trying to figure it out. Teach them professionalism by modeling it. Unfortunately for me, it was too late this time. Everyone that sees my nails tells me how terrible they look...including my mom who said she could have done better. I need some time to heal before I can go get them redone professionally.
