I have 3 grand kids that attend LCA, 6th, 8th, and 11th grade. Their parents are very invested in the school and volunteer often. LCA provides a high level Christian education,emphasizing the infallibility of the Bible. I have met a few of the families at athletic events and they are very friendly and helpful. read more

We love LCA! From the teachers to the curriculum to the spiritual core..it was a no brainer for our family. My kids love it and love being home with mom on Tues/Thurs. check it out if you are on the fence about public school. It was the best decision for our family. read more

I attended this school from 5th-most of 8th grade. In 5th grade, a required reading of The Call of the Wild was an extremely graphic book including animal abuse that my mom had to skim through and read to me since it was so upsetting. It was later removed from the reading list. I mention this because while the school has changed, it's history is relevant. I was expelled in February of 2013 for having mental health issues the staff/administration didn't want to address/face/support me for experiencing. The administration unenrolled me and had my parents pick me up on my last day and I didn't know until I was home. No chance to say goodbye to beloved friends, teachers, faculty, classrooms and halls I came to love and respect, all out of fear I would "make a scene". Their decision greatly altered my perception of Christian leaders and the faith itself. While the school now accepts a more so diverse array students, it was and will always in my mind be a school willing to unenroll non-traditional students at the first sign of nonconformance. 10 years later and I am still processing my emotional and spiritual losses from their decision. read more

Our family loves LCA! The most unique aspect of this school is the strong focus on mentoring, connecting students, and bringing them closer to Jesus. Admittedly, when we first enrolled our kids, I thought the Higher Ground (chapel) program was neat, but our kids were already invested in our church, so I could take it, or leave it. I quickly learned that the Student Life department is the heart of LCA--they are purposeful, intentional, and genuine, and their goal is to build relationships (student-to-student, mentors, teacher-student, adult volunteer-student) so that students have many God-loving people to walk through life with, and to ultimately strengthen their faith walk. Our family decided to send our younger kids to LCA BECAUSE of this program--the program I could take or leave? Yes, it really is that good! I have had the pleasure of watching my kids grow and strengthen their relationship with the Lord, and I am so thankful. Students must invest, of course. If they choose to go all in, they'll be surrounded with the most caring and wonderful people, and they'll grow in their faith in ways they never imagined. If they don't commit, these same people will still love them, pray for them, and walk with them through life. I focus on this aspect of LCA because it is what makes it unique. We also have qualified and caring teachers, high-level academics, and excellent athletics and arts programs. These are all excellent and noteworthy, but at the end of the day, the character of your kids is far more important than all of the other stuff. They'll get it all at LCA! Though no school is perfect, I wouldn't choose to send my kids to any other school. read more
