I've eaten at LLLB a few times now and I haven't been able to fault it. Everything about this place is on point. Their burgers and burritos are excellent, as are many other Mexican dished on the menu. The flattened steak and shrimp is suberb! It's a brilliant choice for NQ eats and drinks alike, as their downstairs bar serve exceptional cocktails and turns into a very good bar come night time! I couldn't recommend it enough. read more

Brace yourselves Yelpers, we could very well be talking about my favourite burger experience, ever. I was honestly 50/50 as to whether I wanted to go to LLL&B instead of the easy favourite Almost Famous, however as they are in fact owned by the same people, I thought I'd venture out of my comfort zone and pop next door. I am SO glad I did. I went for the Triple Threat Burger (a bacon double cheeseburger with pulled pork on top) and it was heaven in a bun. The Chipotle Sour Cream they spread on the bun is something else, that good that I think I could drink it in a glass before bed and sleep like a champ. I won't go into too much detail on the Wonder Butter Fries apart from saying they are bloody wonderful! I washed this phenomenal feast down with a San Miguel Fresco and the whole lot set me back £16. Hand on heart I would've paid double that price for the experience I got. My admiration for this place goes way past Lust, I'm in Love. read more

This is officially my favourite place to go for an incredible pint. No not that kind of pint, a pint of shrimp & squid that is. Arguably the best starter being served in the Northern Quarter, it's difficult not to mmm and aaaaah at the magnificent crunchy on the outside & soft/melt in your mouth delicious on the inside nature of this heavenly treat. That's even before you've had the chance to mouthwateringly pick a winner main from a winner menu. We arrived at the heart of busiest time of the week, namely 7pm on a Saturday night. Without a reservation my Australian +1 was a tad skeptical about the prospect of a successful sit down. We were told the wait would be 40 minutes, we were sat ordering our starters in 35. Not being one for going for the obvious. We decided to go for a burger strategy after being in shrimp/squid heaven. Soon we were in burger heaven. The triple threat burger was eliminated with consummate ease as was chicken variety. The sweet potato fries were delightful beyond blissful glee and we were left speechless by the end of proceedings. The Aussie from Melbourne and his superlative rhetoric were reduced to random noises of approval. I can't wait to update this review already. The problem is it'd be oh so difficult not to order the same as we did here, so good was the grub on offer. The marination of chicken in the burger deserved an oscar. The perfection of cooking time on the shrimp & squid deserved a grammy. I deserved a noble peace prize for decision making genius; we had enough love in our hearts after dining to achieve world peace. Luck, lust liquor and burn should change their name to. Wowzers! A £30 Burrito you say? Give over! ....Go look at the picture I uploaded! GO LOOK AT HOW BIG THAT BURRITO IS! I'm devastated I did not choose that Burrito!!! Our dinner friends couldn't even finish it! However, I'm very glad that we came to a Yelp Brunch event, it's been a while! And they're always so good - it's how I came across The Alchemist in Spinningfields :) First up, drinks - get a Mock tail if you're not drinking! The barman makes it mean and delicious! Any who, I ordered the Beef Brisket which had Nachos alongside - didn't realise we would have these for starters too! With an amazing dip selection! The guacamole is made there and then in front of you by the waitress - and the salsa has a real kick too. I realised why my Yelp dinner partners couldn't finish their Burrito - I couldn't even finish the Brisket! Silly Nachos... but oh so yummy! It didn't stop there - we then had dessert.... Fruity cheese cake served in cocktail glasses! Swirls of delight! I stayed away from the crumbs but the fruit and cream cheese I sampled was divine! The waitress was lovely and really made a fuss of us, helped us choose our food and joked with us too :) I cannot wait to go back and order that huge Burrito!!! read more

Yay! I finally made it to LLL&B! This place had been on my to do list since moving to Manch, seven months ago, so you can imagine how excited I was to get a chance to sample its wares, at long last. After stepping inside the heavily graffiti'd restaurant, we weren't exactly welcomed with open arms and it was all a bit confusing. All the tables were occupied and we had to ask the girl-with-a-face-like-a-slapped-arse behind the bar if there was more seating upstairs. Thankfully there was. Once on the first floor, we were faced with another female member of staff who looked like she'd just been told the world was about to end and was obviously reluctant to politely asking "table for two?". Eventually, we were seated in a corner booth and ordered white wine spritzers but FFS, why was that so difficult? Anyway, whatever. The drinks arrived quickly (and in big, bowl-like glasses) and after trying to fathom what the crazy but well illustrated menu had to offer, we placed our order of a Fear & Loathing sharing platter with a portion of fries. When they arrived, they didn't fail to impress. The presentation was spot-on and once we'd got stuck in, the flavours of the mini cheese burgers, BBQ chicken, dipping salsas, nachos, spicy fries and quesadillas didn't fail to impress either. They were bloody awesome, in fact. And it was just the right amount of food to allow us to keep shopping afterwards. The bill came to £24, which I think was pretty reasonable. If you ignore the moody female staff and just focus on the atmosphere and the food, LLL&B is a cool place to go for lunch and a cheeky drink. I will definitely be returning, I just hope the waitresses can at least PRETEND they're having a good day next time I'm there. read more

We have a new firm favourite here Ladies and Gents..It's safe to say this place is now famous back home in Lincolnshire. We had a couple of friends visit this weekend. Friday's plan was just a casual thing, you know, few drinks followed by some great food then 'casual' going completely out the window and turning into chaos, yeah..you know that kinda night. [Back to the food Gemma].. WOW. This place left my friends and I flabbergasted. I can honestly say Almost Famous GN has always been a bit scary to me, huge rare cooked style burgers, loads of greasy bacon, cheese and something random chucked on the top, so when I was told this place was also under 'Almost Famous' I did become a little scared. What an IDIOT. The only think I had to be scared about was if I could get a table here for tea every night for the rest of my life. (And I am also super excited about visiting Almost Famous GN!) I had the Beef Smackdown, spicy shredded beef, peppers, onions, jalapenos, rice, cheese, taco sauce sun dried tomato aioli... MY GOD. As I type that out I had an urge like I need to leg it and apply this to my face right now. I also added fries which was a mixture of white potato fries and sweet potato fries, they were covered in some spicy seasoning which was just perfect. The dish was just perfect and I would highly recommend it. My friends each had the double cheeseburger, pulled BBQ pork and bacon with the same fries as I had with my dish. They have described the burger as THE BEST BURGER they have ever eaten and have not stopped talking about it since they left. They are wanting to travel over to Manchester this coming weekend purely to apply the burger to their faces again! So to conclude my total rambling on here...You MUST visit this place. The food is absolutely to die for. The staff were fantastic, the venue decor is great. The whole experience was great. I don't have a bad word to say about this place! So after going on a trajectory that saw me give this place 4 stars at first due to it being a regular fave, I had to give it a 2 based on my last visit which quite frankly was terrible from service to food. I'm pleased to say that this time I'm able to raise it up to a 3 as after meeting some friends for lunch last week it was how I remembered! Really friendly staff, a very welcoming environment upstairs and just generally a nice place to hang out in at lunch time. So why the 3? Well my burger was tasty and definitely filled a hole but the nacho's to start were just not great - volcano style seemed to now mean deconstructed with all the elements just seemingly plonked together. No cheese running into them, no quac and the chips tasted like a funny cheap spice. I love my nachos' and have eaten them all across the States so this I feel is something they could so with working on as these were pretty dire. It's a 3 from me today but I'm sure I'll be back again with friends sometime soon. read more

So, for the first time I had a bunch of people finally visiting me from back home (Mumbai) which included a journalist cum world traveler, a finance guru (my uncle), a lecturer (my aunt) and iron man (my 7 year old cousin). They reached Manchester --- tired and hungry expecting the Manchester Yelper (me :D love this name tag for myself) to take them to an amazing place to feed their stomach. After a lot of debate we decided on Mexican cuisine, and the first name that came to my mind was Luck Lust Liquor and Burn. It was rainy as always in Manchester and we walked to Almost Famous's very lustful sister establishment. The barman greeted me with a massive smile (completely unlike my last experience here) and we got a table for 4 and a half people (half being my little cousin). The restaurant lived up to its name because it was indeed very lustful and well let's just say Mexicano. We ordered for corona's and wine for drinks which were decently priced (3.5 and 4 pounds respectively). Moving on to the most orgasmic bit -- FOOD (yumm)... we went for a Bikini Hottie (hell yeah!), Jailbreak Beef Chilli and Mac & Cheese. I must admit I started drooling the minute they brought the order to our plate and all the drool was worth it as the food was literally out of the world! Now lets get to the music, they won me over with soundtracks from Pulp Fiction and Santana. I was pleasantly surprised to see how the place was full on a Thursday afternoon (seems like there are quite a few freelancers in Manchester). Still true to my word in the original review ! I would be happy with a burrito as a last meal! Great service and good atmosphere But slight draw back tables were not cleared away as quick as I would have hoped, but staff very apologetic ! Bar man made an AMAZING apple and strawberry mojito ( no alcohol ) as I was driving afterwards ! It was incredible ! I had the liquor and burn burger ( with winning fries ) my advice separate the burger from topping and enjoy the burger for the taste of itself ! Then eat the toppings with the chips ! Been to LLLB a couple of times in the past but there has probably been a 6 month gap since my last visit till this week and wow things have changed.. This place used to be rammed on a Sunday lunch time with people queueing out the door, but this weekend it was dead downstairs, we were the only people in there when we walked in around 1.30pm! So in we go, decide to sit downstairs in the bar area rather than upstairs in the restaurant as it is generally more cosy downstairs. Staff very friendly and when I ordered a cocktail that was going to take a while, the bar staff offered to bring it over for me instead of me having to Wait. I ordered an almost famous burrito (three meats and super hot and spicy) and some chilli cheese fries. The food arrived verrrry quickly, so quick we actually were unsure if the food was ours ha ! The burrito was.. Ok. Plenty of beef but the chicken and chorizo were really sparse.even though there were three meats in the burrito, the dominant flavour throughout was cheese. it was almost like eating a very expensive cheese and lettuce wrap ! I'm not going to lie, a barburrito burrito tastes much fresher and it feels like you get wayyyy more meat for less money than at lllb. You also get a load of rice and beans in a barburrito wrap unlike lllb where the main ingredients are lettuce, chips and cheese asides from the meat.. The chilli cheese fries did what they said on the tin, beef chilli (although not very much) and a mountain of cheese on top of the usual white and sweet potato fries you get at LLLB / almost famous. For a burrito, fries and a cocktail, the bill came to £22 which I thought was more than fair. Especially as I couldn't finish my huge portion sizes :) Overall, lllb was ok. I used to love it here now I wouldn't be too bothered if I didn't come back. Catching up with a University friend recently, we quickly agreed on LLLB - after spending 6 months together in America, we needed wings and we needed meat. Perfect! We had a drink downstairs as there was a 45 minute wait, but no problem; standard procedure of giving your phone number and waiting for that all exciting text. Staff were super friendly, explaining that the card machine downstairs had broken (luckily we both had cash!) then making a delicious penniless & passionate. Heading upstairs after getting 'the message', we were disappointed to find we had been seated in the middle of the thoroughfare, on the left hand side of the restaurant. We quickly decided what to eat; a starter of the hot chicken blasts & a portion of fries with wonder sauce, then I went for the F-Bomb. The new wonder sauce was super naughty, and basically just melted garlic butter. Dreamy. Fries as ever were delicious, and I always feel better about life after a portion of the chicken blasts. Then it all went a bit Pete Tong. We started to realise that tables who had arrived after us were getting their meals quickly, and our waitress hadn't been by in a long time, leaving us both foodless and staring into empty glasses. I caught the attention of the front of house and explained the situation, who quickly came back to explain that there had been some kind of mix up in the kitchen, and another table had received our food. She bought over drinks on the house, and our food followed soon after, with a portion of the fries with guac/salsa/sour cream. We were both slightly dubious to be honest as the food didn't exactly feel hot - so was this just the other table's meal? Anyway, we were starving and the food was good! The F-Bomb, half chicken & half beef/pork, was a great way to try more than one burrito combination. So all in all, pretty poor service from our actual waitress, but the rest of the staff were accommodating and apologetic for the mix up. read more

LLLB was actually what made us finally decide to move up to Manchester from London...after a long day of meetings and hanging around the NQ before getting the train back, we randomly walked into LLLB and ordered a couple of beers and The Men of Mayhem Burrito and that was it, the next week we started looking for places in the NQ. Good prices, great food and lovely people. The service has been pretty good every time I've been, nothing exceptional but there's always a good atmosphere. The food is really good, proper dirty soul food...just thinking about it now is making my mouth water. Yum, yum! It is a serious affliction that affects a small percentage of people in the service industry,but I always seem to attract these people whenever I (or Mrs Z) are in NQ. Is it that hard to see that the two people at the end of the bar with no drinks might actually want a drink? I went to Luck Lust Liquor and Burn with my partner and few friendly others that I met through Yelp. Upon arrival, I must admit it was a bit hard to know where the entrance was, however the staff were very friendly at pointing us in the right direction to find our group. The decor was nice, cosey with an american/mexican feel. The toilets were clean. My thoughts before orderiing the food were "this is quite a cute casual place to come now and then" We sat down and despite me and my partner being later than the rest of the group, our waitress ensured we were brought up to speed without feeling rushed or pressured; she got us some drinks whilst we explored the menu. Now, it was hard to choose from the menu, for two reasons. The first being there seemed to be so many fantastic tasty options. The second being the style and design of the menu was quite compact and busy. However, our waitress was able to give detailed explanations on any dish we asked about and even pointed out things we may have overlooked. In the end I ordered a san diego wrap which had halloumi, avocado , rice and some other tasty bits. It came with a side salad, which was a little on the small side but saying that the wrap was that filling it probably was just the right amount! I also ordered the lettuce cups which were in their quick fix section of the menu. These consisited of chicken breast peices in a bbq sauce with pineapple sauce on 3 individual ice gem lettuce leaves. Both items were tasty although I felt there was a bit too much bbq sauce for me personally on the ltteuce cups. My wrap was good but unfrotunately there was a slight error and my rice in the wrap was undercooked. They were more than willing to make me another one at speed or let me choose something else but being half full from the starter samples they gave us and my lettuce cups I didnt want them to go to all the effort and then I waste it from being full, so I asked them if it was okay, if I left it. They were really lovely about the whole thing and said it was fine and just removed it from the bill. Now, it may seem like theyve only done the reasonable thing here but I have been to a place before where they would not be so kind! My partner ordered a triple threat burger.. which was a double cheeseburger with pulled pork, crispy bacon, grilled peppers, sundried tomatoes and served with fries pickles and sauces. I have to say it was a monster burger! He did well to finish it! ..although I couldnt help but nab a few of his tasty chips and bite of his burger- yum! Our friends ordered the Tapout burrito between the two of them- word of warning- that thing can serve a family! it was MASSIVE!! After we had all finished our mains we were surprised with some taster deserts complimentary from the chef!! chocolate brownie and pineapple and coconut cheesecake!!! The brownies were rich and gooiey just how they should be! and the cheese cake..it was upside down served in a style cocktail dish. It was so lovely and freshing! To sum it up in brief the food was good, the service was great.. - we left a tip! The only thing I would say is that I didnt see any vegan options, or many healthier alternatives..the vegetarian options were limited too. The lettuce cups I had and buffalo chicken blasts are probably the only two things I felt confident that I wouldnt be ditching all my gym work and recent healthy eating for! I also didnt see any kiddy options..and with the portion sizes we had..and strong falvours..I personally am not sure if luck lust liquor and burn are ready for kiddies yet! The cocktail menu looked good but I would be more tempted if there was an offer now and thne on them as £6-8 for a cocktail (similar price as a main) was a bit too pricey for me. The desserts they gave us to taste were lovely but they were that rich that you could probably share one between two people, especially after eating one of their mains. You could even share some of the mains main to be honest! The prices are decent considering how much food you get! I do think they could do with revamping the menu to include a couple more dessert options, somefunky hot drinks for a cosey evening and more vegetarian..and definately vegan alternatives. However they are fairly new, so I think its fair to say this is something I think they can look into following informed feedback from their customers. I think these suggestions are important as being a business in the northern quarter, there is so much competition locally... there is also a big vegan/vegetarian network in manchester. Manchester is also quite a sporty city..there are tons of gyms int he centre competitively priced...so there is definately a market for them to have options for people who are watching their nutrition... We hope to go back and try their brunch as arriving just after 1pom we were a bit late..the brunch menu lucks lush!! read more

One of my biggest gripes is restaurants that don't take bookings. Why not make everyone's life easier?! My point was proved on Friday night, when we put our name and number on the waiting list and over an hour later found out that the system had broken. Rant over, and the largeritas in the bar did make the wait go considerably faster! I do love this place - such a quirky, imaginative menu, and delicious 'dirty' combinations. Prices are reasonable and you get a good helping of food - burritos stuffed to the brim with filling and lots of chips on the side dish. Full of flavour too - perfectly seasoned fries, fresh guac and spicy meat. But the service on a busy night isn't ideal. Our food took ages to arrive when we finally were seated, although the manager was very apologetic and gave us a discount. Overall, good food and drink but maybe steer clear at peak times! read more

Score another win for Northern Quarter! Service: 5 stars Atmosphere: 5 stars Food: 5 stars Let's break this down a bit... I came here last night for a birthday celebration. With a group of 16, the hostess was upfront and honest over the phone about a potentially long wait (2-3 hours), as well as a maximum of 8 people per table (space issues), so we'd just need to book 2 tables, and may not be near each other. Fast forward, we go to get our booking and, as expected, it's a 2.5 hour expected wait. No problem for our group though - time flies when you're downstairs having pints and tequila, right? When our time came 'round, we were happily surprised to find that the two tables of 8 were actually right next to each other, so our group wasn't broken up at all! I was mainly excited to try this place out after falling in love with Almost Famous. So let's get to the important point - the grub. With a menu of nachos, quesadillas, tacos, and burgers (among other things), I'm assuming it's an attempt at Southern California/Mexican food. The one thing I'd say here is that it's definitely not authentic style. The burritos aren't quite right, the tacos don't have the same sort of flavour, and the nachos were lacking...BUT, and that's a big BUT, it was almost all of it delicious. If you come here expecting a true burrito you'll be disappointed, but if you want a ridiculously tasty wrap and a British-style burrito with flavour to blow you away, then this is the place to go. I had the Men of Mayhem burrito (all the meats, plus jalapeño fries and other goodies tucked inside), which was epic all the way through. I also tried the F-Bomb (half a cool, refreshing sort of wrap, the other half spicy), also a favourite. The nachos were lacking in the meat department, but the tacos (Taco Roulette) hit the spot. I didn't get the spicy one, but my mate that did handled it...he said it wasn't spicy (while turning bright red in the process), so I can't say one way or the other how bad the chilis were. For the birthday celebration, I was told I could bring in a cake and they'd serve it for us. I was happy to find they had no issue whatsoever with me coming with an ASDA bag filled with 2 cakes and candles. They brought them out at the end of the meal with candles lit and a few knives for us to cut it all up. Excellent experience overall, can't wait to come back! read more

We were told it could be up to an hour wait for a table (on a Saturday night) but in reality it was about 20 minutes. Happy days. Up we went into a maze-like restaurant and got seated. Me being me, I had perused the menu online earlier, but was still a bit overwhelmed. Burrito was the obvious option but maybe I wanted tacos? A burger? A steak dinner? And do we want starters? Yes, we do. We shared the Fear & Loathing platter between 4 of us. This was delicious. I would have loved more of the nachos. Thankfully there was no shame round the table as we practically licked the board clean. I went for an Alabama Slammer burrito which included pulled pork and blue cheese, along with the regular trimmings and maybe some other stuff that I've forgotten. I loved this. It was so good. I was getting increasingly full after the sharing platter and concurrently attacking a bowl of fries but I couldn't stop eating. Everything went together so well and unlike some burritos it wasn't too heavy on the rice. The bill, including a drink each, came to around £20 per person. I thought this was incredibly reasonable for the quality and amount of food. Now I've made it to LLL&B and know it's worth it (and worth the wait, if you're not ravenous) I'm sure I'll head back. read more

Loved it, loved it, loved it! Came here at the start of The Liquorists' tequila trail. The Mexican/Southern Californian cuisine is simple and delicious. I had nachos, house salsa (just the right amount of heat for my taste) , monster claws (griddled green beans and jalapeños), lettuce cups, winning fries and sweet potato fries. Ok, we finally made it... Straight from Atherton for the Bent and Bongs Beer Bash, to the delights of sexy spazy Mexican... well, that's the sales pitch anyway. Busy as ever on a Saturday but thankfully two friends who made it back to town earlier than us had put our name down so we just waited downstairs a bit with a couple more beers...not cheap but decent beers. We got ourselves some quesadillas to start, basically a meaty taostie. They were nice enough and considering the genral hunger, devoured in seconds. We then went on for the burritos, classic, and I think I had the Alabama Slammer... it was very yummy and moreish but if I'm honest I thought it was missing the sparkle you would expect for such a hyped up place. I'm slightly worried at how many countless nights I've spent there, whether it be eating upstairs or getting a quick pint after work downstairs. Whenever someone asks me where they should eat in Manchester LLLB is always top of the list. A personal favourite of mine is the Badabing burrito with a side of wonder fries. I can't begin to describe the fries, you'll just have to take my word for it! Pair that with a Liquid Luck (LLLB's own beer) and you're in for a great time. I opted for the wonder fries, described by a friend as "the best thing you'll ever taste" they weren't far wrong. Combining them with the lust liquor burger, it was a winning combination. Have visited here a few times now, LLLB is one of Manchester's best kept secrets, serving some of the best Mexican food you can get in the city. It's out of the way and retains an exclusive feel, but the staff are very friendly and helpful. Food wise the burritos are excellent and great value for your money. Drinks: the bar below which has recently been done up and renovated is more than up to scratch. Along with the good selection of beers on offer including their own draft! not only that, there is a tequila option with an avocado flavoured chaser which provides a welcome break from the tequila flavour (which we all know isn't great) I cannot recommend that more! From reading other reviews of LLL&B I had high hopes that this was going to be a spectacular gastronomic experience. Don't get me wrong, the food was tasty, some of us even pushed the boat out and had three courses, but they committed a mortal sin: I left the place still hungry. Now I'm the first to admit that I have an appetite. It can be my downfall at times, but still, even I'd expect a three course meal to leave me satisfied, if not in a semi food-coma. The quesadilla starters were really good, as was the 'Alabama Slammer' burrito - but it looked almost lost on the plate, sat all on its own, cut in half, the poor thing. I ate it in seven seconds. For dessert it was Oreo icecream, but this was just a couple of scoops on a plate and nothing else. Where's the presentation guys? Now apart from that I liked the atmosphere in there, a wee bit dark and bustling, somewhere you could go with a small group of friends and demolish a few platefuls of Mexican goodness without fear of being clearly seen by other diners. I also very much enjoyed using their glass-fronted passenger lift down to the ground floor (the restaurant is on the first floor), but I don't think that's really meant for abled bodied users, though in my defence, I'd had a fair few bevvies by then. I keep forgetting to review you LLL&B I'm a naughty boy I shall go outside and beat myself with a thorn bush in penance. Or as way of apology I'll just visit you more and more and more, because you fill me with delicious foodness in my face for my belly. Even for none SpiceyFans like myself you'll have a good time here, obviously they love their spice fests but they do cater for people who like to be able to feel their mouths after a meal. As with most places in Manchester's Northern Quarter, Luck Lust Liquor & Burn is made to appeal to the hipster crowd wanting something different and independent, so naturally my friends and I stumbled across it ;) We were in search of something to settle of stomach's after a weekend of fun at Manchester Pride and this place did the trick. It's outside appearance and downstairs bar attracted us initially and once in the restaurant area was very urban industrial with a loft style to the fittings and furnishings. I ordered thier Chickin' Lickin' burrito (from a very busy and a little hard to read menu) which was tasty and packed full of flavour, though not too hot. It was a perfect size too as I didn't feel like a heifer after eating it. With a side of skin on chips which were generously seasoned with paprika for that kick. Service was good, though we did have a problem with the card machine meaning some of my party had to go down the road to get money out of an ATM though the waiter was more than happy to help them find it. Good value for money with a burrito, chips and coke coming in at £12. read more

I went to Luck, Lust, Liquor and Burn on the advice of 2 of your group who really recommended it. There were 7 of us so I thought we might have had a bit of a problem getting a seat on a Saturday night however I needn't have worried. Our hostess shifted things about slightly to accommodate us and in the end we were seated within about 5 minutes. Luckily I got to try 2 of the dishes, my own of the South Central Enchilada and the Almost Famous Burrito. Just to bump up the calories we also went for some wonder fries which were really good. I thoroughly enjoyed my enchilada and would heartily recommend it however I can't say the same about the burrito. Despite having a load of ingredients I found it fairly bland and uninspiring although my view wasn't shared by everyone. The house lager was decent and there was a decent selection of bottled beers but a few of the group got cocktails which they weren't too impressed with however the service was first class which was impressive. Overall a little bit hit and miss but I'll definitely be making another visit in the future. There's too much on the menu that looks appealing not to! read more

Only came down here as Home sweet home was too busy, and I'm really happy we did! My boyfriend and I both had burgers, and they were absolutely great. Very set on coming back. In addition we were starving and our food came in after 10 minutes even though it was a Saturday afternoon and the Northern Quarter was packed. One minus though was that we asked for avocado on our burgers and they said they don't have it in. You would think a Mexican restaurant serving guacamole would keep fresh avocados in the kitchen but apparently they don't, and serve guacamole from a bottle (I think?). So that was a negative point, but otherwise all was good! read more

Can you really go wrong with burgers, nachos, and fries? Obviously that's a rhetorical question. But as strongly as I believe that the aforementioned food items are inherently delicious, LLL&B stands head and shoulders above its competition. I visited for the first time last week with my boyfriend. They don't take reservations so we did expect a wait. We were told 30 minutes so we wandered next door for a drink. In the end we probably only waited half that time before we were texted to say a table was ready. The décor creates a nice atmosphere but really, let's talk about the food. My boyfriend ordered the triple threat burger (double cheeseburger, pulled bbq pork, bacon, bbq sauce, sundried tomato aioli), I ordered the finger clickin chicken nachos (melted cheese, creamy chicken, peppers, onions, lettuce, taco sauce, ranch dressing), and we shared some barrio fries (peppers, onions, tacho sauce, guac, chipotle sour cream). You're probably hungry just reading that which is the only normal reaction really. It's so, so bad for you but it just tastes so, so good that you can't even spare a thought for your poor arteries that are slowly being clogged with all this deliciousness. The burger was phenomenal and the fries were probably the best I've ever had. The nachos were delicious as well, though I encountered the typical nacho dilemma of ending up with a few dry chips. They were pretty accomodating with an extra serving of guac to help resolve this troubling issue. The menu has a huge selection of delicious looking burritos which we didn't try only because we are difficult burrito critics as we make some pretty awesome ones at home. However, having had this beautiful burger/nachos/fries experience I will choose a burrito next time without fear. Because, oh yes, there will be a next time. read more
