My first time here I had acrylics done with shellac/gel and in a couple days the polish started…read morechipping. I came back when I could, 7 days later and they charged me $25 to get them painted correctly using the same color. I said this is my first time here and the polish didn't last and you're going to charge me that much money then I won't come back and she didn't say a word so I paid and left. I was willing to pay and even going to tip but that was too much money considering it wasn't done correctly the first time. I guess they don't need business.

I just don't…read morefeel like they did that great of a job? 1) they don't push back cuticles, or anything like that, so even if they did a great job, you'd need fillers sooner than at places that do. 2) they told me my nails were dry, and I was good to go, and they were so wet that I have a fingerprint on one nail, smudges and clumps of polish on others... 3) I wanted black nails with some kind of rainbow accent nail for pride, and I thought it'd be fine because the tech (who again, was super sweet and amazing) had this really cool blended zigzag rainbow thing on HER nails... but mine? I mean, it's better than I could have done, but I don't really think it even looks like I got them done professionally. I just feel deeply underwhelmed. Maybe I'm the problem, because it's not like I came in with a picture of what I wanted or anything. I almost never get my nails done professionally, it's a rare, rare occasion, and while I wish the employees all the best, I can't say I would go back here for nails. I got a long full set and a pedicure & my mom got a manicure and a pedicure. The people that work here are husband and wife and had an amazing story and work well together as a team. This was the worst nail salon I've ever been to in my life. I do not color my nails. I understand…read morethe people pay before they color because their hands are wet and it's easier. But even when I use color, I never pay until the nail is completely shaped and cleaned. This awful woman left my nails thick, dirty, and jagged. Then after I repeatedly explained that I did not want color or buffing, she demanded I pay. I tried to explain that she was not finished yet and asked for an emery board or file so I can show her what I wanted. There was only one other person, a man, working in the salon and he couldn't help translate for her either. I don't know if she genuinely did not understand my gestures or if she thought she could trick a blind woman into thinking she had done a good job. Does she not understand that I have a sense of touch? Does she not have a sense of touch? I have had some very highly trained professionals, women who didn't speak a word of English, who would be ashamed to let me walk out of the salon with nails looking like this. She is a bad example not only of nail salon technicians, but of the proud traditions of immigrants to this country. This woman was very rude and rough. She pulled and tugged at me as though I were not even a person. I would have much more respect for someone who spoke to me in a language I did not understand as long as they were addressing me. At least we would be equals then, neither understanding the other's language but doing commerce together as equals. This woman is slovenly and careless. She needs to be doing something outside of customer service. I know that my immigrant ancestors were ignorant and as rough as these nails. But I hope that they were never so callous, careless and sloppy as to just do whatever the heck they wanted and expect to be paid and tipped. Needless to say I did not tip this one.
